Perfect for a family, couples, or wedding parties to share. The house sleeps six. Two bedrooms and one sleeper couch along with futons provide sleeping for 4-6 with 2 full baths. The rooms are spacious and the open floor plan lends itself to entertaining in a casual yet elegant style.
LOCATION • The house is situated on 3 acres of wooded mountain minutes from Eastsound, the center of island activity. Home to bald eagles and other native wildlife, Orcas Island is the ultimate vacation destination for naturalists, hikers, bikers, kayakers, seafood lovers, artists, brides, grooms, yogis, Buddhists, and other fun loving folks. You will be content to stay in your own peaceful mountain top retreat but exploring the island is a must. Swimming and fishing in the cool mountain Cascade Lake, kayaking on Crescent Bay, hiking and biking in Moran State park are just a few of the fun adventures islanders enjoy. For food lovers there are plenty of great restaurants, home grown vegetables, fresh caught seafood, and in-home chefs. Of course we will guide you to the best kept secrets and traditional island haunts if you need help planning your vacation.
HISTORY • This is a unique home built by a builder/interior designer husband and wife team. After traveling extensively throughout Asia they were inspired to build this island retreat for their family. The handcrafted doors, cabinetry, and woodwork take their design from both Asian and modern architecture. Avid collectors of American, European, and Asian antiques many of the original furnishings have been left in the house for you to enjoy. French doors open along the entire front of the house to the deck. Below the deck, a waterfall trickles down to a pond where goldfish circle.
