Relax in this 4200 square foot, 2003 Mountain House -style waterfront home right on tranquil Lake Hartwell. Nestled on one full acre of woods and rolling lawns, this home feels totally secluded yet is a simple drive from Atlanta, Charlotte, or Greenville. The house is designed by a Colorado Mountain House architect and provides the true away-from-the-city feel. Aside from the standard new home features, the house offers huge windows and decks overlooking the lake, a large private hot tub, a pool table and an oversize master bedroom suite taking up the entire 3rd level of the house.
This three story home has a combination of hardwood floors and carpet, rich wood ceilings and interior finish (like a hunting lodge), comfortable furniture (and rocking chairs), a modern, spacious kitchen with island, three stone fire places and a screened-in NEW LA Spa Hot Tub. Each level has a full bathroom, and a TV and DVD player equipped with DirecTV. The main level houses two bedrooms, each with queen beds, the main living room area overlooking the lake through literally a wall of windows, the kitchen and dining room. The first floor (basement) has two bedrooms (one with a queen bed and one for the kids with two twin bunk beds), a large bathroom, sleeper couch and plenty of room for playing games or lounging. A large Plasma HDTV overlooks a full size billiards table, bar and premium card table and leather chairs, surrounded by a stone fireplace on one side and a wall of large French doors opening to a deck and the back yard on the other side. The third floor houses a large master bedroom/bathroom suite, sitting area, small office area and stone fireplace all overlooking the large façade of windows.
A quick walk down hill through the back yard and using newly built wooden steps, you will find a private covered dock, replete with a boat lift, running water and electricity. You'll enjoy spending the entire day on and around the dock and swimming in this quiet cove away from the wind, waves and boat traffic. Relax on the dock furniture or use one the floats in the water.
The House is less than 90-minutes north of Atlanta, and only 45-minutes from Greenville, SC making this an easy weekend or full-week getaway. For groceries and standard city amenities, Anderson, SC is just 20 minutes north of the house near Clemson University. A full service marina with boat rentals as well as multiple boat ramps are just minutes away.

The Unique Benefits of this House
My lake house offers me a mix of benefits depending on the season. In the warmer months, we spend lots of time outdoors or on the water (skiing, wakeboarding, swimming, kayaking, etc.). There is also plenty of nearby hiking, mountain biking, and exploring. Clemson is 20-minutes away and provides easy access to college sports. In the cooler months, we spend more time inside reading, relaxing, playing pool and ping pong, and enjoying the warmth of three large fire places. In any season, we do a lot of good cooking in the spacious kitchen or grilling on the deck, and spend quite bit of time in the hot tub.
