We had booked a stay and were unable to attend. These folks were so understanding and wonderful to us even though we had to cancell. When we do make it to Glacier country, we'll certainly stay with them. Thanks again for your understanding. Rhonda Jordan

Our family decided to have our first annual family reunion at this home. It was great to have room for everyone to be together. Much better than the option of getting hotel rooms. It was close enough to shopping yet far enough away from busy roads so we didn't have to worry about the little children. Allyson went out of her way to bring us eggs, muffins, cookies, fruit leather and granola (all made by her). She was very helpful in fixing an issues we had. We loved the little pool she put out for the little & big kids to play in, the fire pit with wood ready to go, and the hulla hoops were an instand hit with the young and old alike. We loved sitting out on the deck and gazing at the stars in the evening. The only issue we had was finding the house for the first time. The map was difficult to follow but once we found the home the first time it was just fine. Great getaway where you will be well looked after!

I am a travel agent in Kalispell who needed a place for my children when they come to visit! I had 4 adults and 4 children stay here and they enjoyed it very much. It is secluded quite and peaceful. From here they went fly fishing, white water rafting, and hiking. They spent a fair amount of time at my house but this great location gave them a place to go and visit among themselves and little ones to take a nap.I heard no complaints and Allison is just an angel trying to make everything as perfect as she could. You can not find a more gracious hostess. My kids would love to stay there again!!!

We stayed at the Capistrano House for our second time this summer. We were excited to come back, even though our first visit had a few issues, because the pluses outweighed the minuses. The pluses are that there is plenty of room, and there is a bayou with a rowboat provided. Before we put down our deposit we remembered that it was terribly during our first stay, it was a hot that summer and that there was no air so we had gone our and purchased a couple fans. So this time we brought our fans along and also a portable air conditioner. But when we arrived we soon saw that things had gone downhill. There were no screen doors so we couldn't put the fans at the doors to bring in the cooler outside air. We were told that the previous tenants had broken them. (Isn't that what the deposit is for, isn't it the owner's responsibility to clean and fix for the next tenant?) Also, it looked as though the cabinets had not been cleaned since the last time we had been there, two years before. We also found that this time there was no internet, which had been there before, and were told a sad story about the cost and the owners response when I stated that when I made the reservation I had expected internet I was told that "We assume that our guests have read the property description and amenities we offer before they make their reservation." I assume from this that they do not get many returns. In addition, there were no remotes for the any of the televisions or video players. But I expect our biggest surprise was the time and effort the owners put into the excuses, rather than solutions. I do not believe they understand the concept; things should be professionally cleaned and fixed between tenants.
Owner response:We have had several repeat tenants who were extremely happy with the house and our hospitality. We live on the property to be available for any issues that arise. This is our first negative review. It's unfortunate. Yes, these renters stayed at the Capistrano House a couple of years ago. We had the internet then, but found it too costly to keep. We assume that our renters read the property description before they make a reservation or at least ask questions beforehand. There were several things broken the first time they rented. We refunded their full security deposit, however. I personally cleaned the house before they arrived and was told that it was just how they remembered. I did not hear of any concerns until the evening before they were to check out. They gave one of our games to their grandchild without consulting us. We do everything in our power to help our guests have a great time at the Capistrano House. If they don't tell us their concerns until the night before they are to check out, there is no time to address them. We removed the screen doors because they were not in very good shape. (A previous tenant ran right through it and it was severely warped...as I explained to these tenants)There were only a few hours to get the house ready for the next tenants. We installed new screen doors after they left.

We stayed at the Capistrano house in July. We were a party of 6 adults and 4 children (ages 5,7,7 and 9) and there was plenty of space both inside and outside the house. The children loved being free to ride their bicycles around the property, while the adults enjoyed hanging out on the deck. Jim and Allyson (the owners) live next door and we enjoyed an evening around the fire pit with them. They delivered fresh eggs to us a couple of times, as well as home made cookies and muffins! We really were treated like family! The kids enjoyed taking kitchen scraps down to the hen house and every evening from the deck, we watched humming birds competing for the tallest branch of a tree. A wonderful older style home, ideal for families and young children. We would definitely stay here again!

Our family of 10 adults, ages 20 to 80, had a wonderful time at the Capistrano House in early September 2010. Weather was a bit showery but we still enjoyed the outdoors, fished in the bayou located on the 10 acres, played ping pong til all hours of the night and did a lot of car driving to Glacier Park and the Highway To The Sun. Found some scrumptious huckleberry pies and jams in the nearby town of Hungry Horse. The Capistrano house is elegantly decorated. The owners are available if needed. The cost was very, very affordable.

The house was more than we expected, it was absolutely fantastic, the photos didn't do the house justice. There was plenty of room for the 14 of us. The owners welcomed us the day we got there and were extremely helpful and very friendly. We especially enjoyed visiting with them. The fresh eggs and the cookies were also a great hit. The kids spent a lot of time at the bayou and used the row boat and went swimming even though the water was cold. The fire pit was used every night we were there. The house had everything that we needed and was so comfortable. The deck was also a big hit. We would sit on the deck and watch the deer in the field across the driveway and they even were in the yard. The stars were so bright in the night sky and it was quiet. The boys loved playing basketball and wrestling in the yard. The driveway was an excellent place to dutch oven cook even though it rained. We went to Glacier Park, the Alpine Slide, visited a winery and more. I would highly recommend this house to everyone. We will definitely be back again.

Beautiful house with lots of room for a large group. Beautiful area for exploring, and the kids loved the little row boat to explore the creek. I would love to come here again in another season. Definitely recomend this house. Lots of things to do in the area also.

We usually go to Montana for all the site seeing and hit the circut right away because there is so much to see, but when we arrived at this wonderful home it was so perfectly comfortable that we spent the firt two days just sitting on the porch while the boys all went fishing. It felt like three separate homes so all of us had room to spread out and find our "space". Of course we managed to see Glacier Park, and paddle down the Flathead River and ride the Alpine Slide ect.. . but we always came back together each evening for a homecooked meal on the balcony while watching the deer eat their evening meal right in front of the house. There was nothing missing, right down to extra jackets for chilly evenings. Thank you so much Jim and Allyson. We will be back!

Our family had a wonderful family reunion @ Capistrano House. We only had 9 people staying @ the home but had room for more. It was nice that the house is located on a dead-end road so we had no traffic except our own family. We enjoyed the boat and fishing in the bayou. The home was very comfortable and supplied all of our needs. It is a very quiet and peaceful place. The owners are very helpful and we enjoyed the fresh eggs. Also, the homemake muffins that Allyson made for us.

The friendly greeting from our host started our week at this home. The house was large enough for our family of 12. Plenty of room outdoors for kids to explore. Running down to the water was a daily activity for them. The younger ones loved playing in your sprinkler, playing beanbag toss, campfire at night and feeding the chickens. Everything needed in the home was provided. Close to beautiful Glacier National Park. Would love to visit again!!

What a great site! House is big enough to get lost in! Fact that you can camp is great for family reunions. Has everything right down to fishing poles and friendly owners! Would return in a heartbeat! Thanks Jim and Allyson.
