what a disappointment.

Property was convenient to HCM city by cab but in all other respects was disappointing. Pictures of property were showcased some time ago and what remains of the furniture is quite shabby. Aircon was noisy, Glass topped tables are unbeveled and dangerous. no toaster or oven only a 2 burner stove. Not great for self catering as only 2 small saucepans and a small frying pan. Not recommended for older folk as the spiral staircase was coming away at the top fastenings. As nobody was in the bottom unit we were given access to the internal unit. It also nothing like the photos and toilet in poor repair. The kitchen is cavelike with no natural light and the "garden" is non existent. We also had to be constantly aware of the building site next door . Workmen broke into the property in front and were disturbed on two occassions on the roof ajoining our property We have stayed in many VRBO properties across the globe over the last 5 years. This has been the worst and we believe it should be removed from the listings.
Owner response:Our deepest apologies! We recently turned the property over to a new manager as we are no longer in Vietnam and he has apparently stripped it of its charm and convenience. He has been replaced now and the property is being restored to its earlier state. Please contact me directly to discuss compensation. We stayed in the lower 2BR unit. The unit was a bit worn and musty but OK. We were there during the rainy season so some of that is expected. The back villa on the river with pool is very nice and would have liked to stay there if avail. It is a great location. The housekeeper was great and very helpful. Some very good restaurants in the neighborhood. Overall a good experience and something different from staying in the hotels in D1. Owner was very cooperative and flexible.

We enjoyed our stay here.Every morning we would sip tea on the upper deck and watch the boats go by on the Saigon river. Located in a lovely neighborhood, we were able to walk to restaurants and the grocery store or be in the heart of the Saigon in 10 minutes. After spending a day in the city center it was so nice to return to a more peaceful pocket of the city. Laura went out of her way to help us and we felt very well taken care of.

It was perfect for my mom and sister and I and my son. We stayed in the upper unit and it was beautiful with views of the river and very nice furniture, everything new. They were just finishing the other apartment and it looked really beautiful too. We come to Vietnam every year and we might try that one next time.
