  This rental exceeded all our expectations. As a family of 4 (2 of whom are under the age of 5), we have become accustomed to renting vacation homes in an effort to make life as comfortable as possible for ourselves. This, by far, has been the best vacation rental we have had the pleasure of staying in. First, it is beautiful and airy. The house is well-maintained and lacks for nothing. It is clear that the owners care for and love this house. The lay-out is wonderful, as is the proximity to the beach and other tourist attractions (as in close, but not too close). The house is well stocked with items you wouldn't expect (boogie boards, bicycles, wet suits to waffle makers -- plural!, a coffee grinder, a griddle... the list goes on). There are plenty of toys, movies, and books to entertain young ones. We loved our stay here. The owners are very gracious people. We will definitely return and have already recommended this place to many of our friends.

  This was the cutest cottage within walking distance to the beach. It has everything including some onions, garlic, limes and lemons. The owners were so welcoming and kind. We traveled with a 2 yr old and we didn't need to bring anything. There is even a jogging stroller and a high chair there. Our daughter loved the new books and the local outdoor cat that played with her more gently than our own cat. We will defiantly stay here again when in Santa Cruz!

  Great place. Excellent in all aspects. Close to beach. Well-appointed. Friendly, helpful owners. Great for kids. Beach stuff makes things convenient and comfortable. Couldn't have been happier w/our decision.

  It is time to send in our deposit for our weeks at 26th Ave Garden Cottage by the Sea in Santa Cruz California. After a wonderful relaxing yet active vacation there last summer we are looking forward to our next stay. It is a lovely cottage looking out a beautifully maintained garden, an easy walk to the beach. I think what makes this cottage special is that it was designed and built for its owners to live in and thus unlike other rentals this cottage has more than the basics in terms of amenities. For instance the lights over the king sized bed can be turned off individually without getting out of bed, the kitchen is well appointed with granite counter tops, a radio and enough burner and oven space to cook a large Thanksgiving meal. We took advantage of the bikes, wet suits, hot tub, and outdoor grill. Every-thing was clean, worked well and was true to the photos. We felt the owners provided privacy, security, and helpful advice. We were very pleased and hope to come back over and over again.

  This was a wonderful space - very open and childproof too! And the hot-tub in the back was particularly relaxing and well-kept. The owner was wonderful with small subtle touches like the fresh flowers and the wine to welcome us. What a lovely place.

  My friends and I had a wonderful NYE weekend at this house. It exceeded our expectations for a rental. It's the perfect location near great surf (the hook, 38th ave) and ocean. It was a nice touch to have the surf report ready for us. We really enjoyed taking the bikes for a cruise around the Pleasure Point area for coffee and sunsets. We took full advantage of the hot tub and grill outside. Although the owners (very friendly and nice) lived next store we felt like we had full privacy of the space. It was nice to know if we needed anything they were next door to answer questions or help. The indoor fireplace and fire pit made it feel nice and cozy. Everything you need is in the house or nearby! I highly recommend making this your next vacation rental. The description of the rental and pictures was right on target. I look forward to coming back soon! Thanks again for a fun stay in your rental house and great way to start off the new year!

  This little cottage is even cuter in person!! My girlfriends and I arrived and were blown away with how darling it was and were in love right away. It is just walking distance from the beach and also walking distance to Pleasure Point if you want to go on an outing. Also only 10 minutes drive to downtown Santa Cruz and Capitola. It was cozy to relax in, the kitchen was fully stocked and the beds were so comfortable. We had such a great getaway weekend and enjoyed this cottage so much! We loved the jacuzzi and outdoor bbq, this house has everything you could need for a weekend away at the beach! Thanks again for a great stay, awesome renters!

  I love this house. I've stayed all over the Santa Cruz area and love to come back here. The space is clean, very well laid out, open and bright and love the hot tub! The owners couldn't be nicer and their children and animals all adorable. The location is perfect and well, couldn't get a better vacation rental in the area.

  My brother David and I visited this fabulous home to attend the 2010 US Open at Pebble Beach. Why is this a "must stay and see destination"? Location - only about 40 minutes from San Jose Airport, 45 minutes to Carmel/Pebble Beach, 90 minutes to San Francisco and Sausalito. The home is situated in a perfect suburban setting and is still only about 400 yards to the Pacific Ocean and 1.5 miles from downtown Santa Cruz...which is short ride by bike or car. Owners - two of the nicest people you could rent from....who give you space to relax and at the same time are there if you need them. Thanks Andre and Kathy! House Fittings - there is NOTHING that you could need when you stay in this home...nothing! The kitchen, appliances, utensils, dishes, etc...are everything you need. The furniture and beds are CLEAN and comfortable. TV's in living, bedroom, and kitchen! Sanitary - the house was immaculate...floors, bathroom, windows, rugs...all of it as clean as you could possibly ask for. Alway a concern on a vacation home - but this is well kept and no smell of any kind. Patio and Exterior Furnishings - the back patio is spacious with a clean functioning gas grill (we cooked steak & salmon), chairs, table, and umbrella....along with an outside firepit/cage if it gets chilly. Each night was a evening of talking, laughing, good food and drink along with music from the stereo. We drove the Pacific Coast Highway stopping for the sites from Santa Cruz all the way to Sausalito for lunch and then all the way to Carmel for Pebble Beach. If you want to have a beach vacation with access to some of the best sites in walkable, rideable, or driveable distances....THIS IS THE HOUSE TO RENT! Thrilled we found this and hope to be back to play at Pebble Beach and enjoy the Santa Cruz beach lifestyle again soon.

  We had a wonderful week at this well-appointed and spotlessly clean cottage. Stocked the basics for summer fun (beach gear, grill, hot tub--even bikes!) and garnished with fresh flowers and top-end linens...this place was ideal for our family (husband/wife and two teen girls). The fireplace was cozy at night, too. We shopped the nearby farmer's markets and cooked up fresh food after long afternoons at the beach. I'd highly recommend this to any small family.
