JJ's YACHATS BEACHFRONT HOUSE
LOCATED AT THE END OF A PRIVATE ROAD, OUR ARTISTICALLY DECORATED OCEANFRONT RETREAT is secluded and unique..(check out our 5 STAR REVIEWS!) It is imbued with a creative sense of spirit, soul, and fun......a special get-away place for special people.
Just steps from the front door, off the LARGE FRONT DECK, a PRIVATE STAIRCASE WITH RAILING leads down to miles of pristine sandy beach one way, and marvelous rocky tide-pools the other.
Our long flat beach is perfect for beach combing - and just about anything else: building castles, flying kites, jogging, walking, a game of football or frisbee and building bonfires. Often, you have the entire beach all to yourselves!
The MASTER BEDROOM, with king bed, flat panel TV, and private bath ALSO HAS A FULL OCEAN VIEW. Let the sounds of the waves gently soothe you to sleep! This master bath has both a shower and jetted tub, as well as access to the private back deck. The cozy GUEST BEDROOM, with queen bed and lots of art, has an adjacent bath.
The ocean-facing GREAT ROOM with WOOD STOVE is open and inviting. Here, with the ENTIRE WESTERN WALL OF FLOOR TO CEILING WINDOWS, and a 180º UNOBSTRUCTED VIEW OF THE WILD PACIFIC, enjoy meals at the dining table while watching resident Gray Whales spout or pelicans skimming just above the waves. Cuddle up to read by the fire, or if you need a nap, snuggle into the trundle bed/sofa. In winter, watch the lights of the crab fishing boats all along the horizon, or catch the moon shimmering over the waves. When absolutely necessary, use your computer with HIGH SPEED WIRELESS.
The open KITCHEN/FAMILY area has a fantastic TURQUOISE FIREPLACE, flat panel TV, and another large dining area that seats 8. Fully stocked, the kitchen has all you'll need should you choose to cook, including spices and staples.
From the family area step out to the EASTERN-FACING PATIO AND PROTECTED DECK, where morning coffee is delightful (when it's sunny!) Explore the expansive back COASTAL GARDEN, where a FIRE-PIT for roasting marshmallows or hot-dogs is located. Or for a bit more heat control, use the Weber BBQ.
A separate SUN-DRENCHED STUDIO, also with an ocean and front garden view, is perfect for painting, writing, reading, making music, or working on that special project....quilting, sewing, scrapbooking. Take advantage of our extensive reading library, art supplies, games, and a guitar.
Walk easily down the Historic 804 Trail, less than 1 mile, to the little town of YACHATS, tucked between the mighty Pacific and the coastal mountains. This small but energetic community, with its many locally owned restaurants, galleries, unique gift shops, special events, and friendly residents is rightfully known as 'The Gem of the Oregon Coast.' Yachats is a 'backwater' community of the very best sort; one where visitors can escape stresses and decompress.
Where the Yachats River enters the Pacific, large salmon are caught right off the rocks. South of town, in the CAPE PERPETUA SCENIC AREA, are numerous lovely hiking trails through the lush temperate rainforest environment, and a not-to-be-missed 70 mile view up and down the coast on a clear day. A bit further south are the famous SEA LION CAVES, home to hundreds of noisy Stellar Sea Lions.
Twenty minutes north in NEWPORT are the fantastic Hatfield Marine Science Center and Oregon Coast Aquarium, where Keiko the Killer Whale lived for many years. It's also the World Headquarters of the Rogue Brewery, and since 2011, home to NOAA, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, with it's large fleet of scientific vessels. Adventurous visitors can surf, kite, kayak, deep-sea fish or crab in Yaquina Bay or the ocean. Newport also boasts a Center for the Performing Arts, two interesting lighthouses, and a bustling bay front from which both charter and commercial boats come and go.
Whether you want to relax and rejuvenate, celebrate a special occasion, or head out to play and explore, our Yachats beach front house provides a very UNIQUE AND UNFORGETTABLE GET-AWAY RETREAT. We hope to welcome you soon!

WHAT OUR GUESTS HAVE SAID:
'This magical place took me back to when we got married. It was like a mini honeymoon. This was a romantic and enchanting retreat away from all the business life can bring. I love the ocean! It is constant and dependable, and soothes the soul.'
'...being in this amazing house full of treasures and I just can't stop looking around me. Nothing is missing in this house, from olive oil to candles to put on our 2 yr old son's cake. Thanks! This house is a 4 day pass to heaven.'
'We booked two nights, and after just one night we called and added a third. This place is so peaceful and soothing - we are restored and can leave with our cups overflowing.'
'The view is magnificent, to put it mildly....(my husband's) 83 year old mom was even able to get down to the beach with her walker because of the easy to maneuver steps. I'm ready to go home and paint a room red! I love it!'

A huge thanks to the property manager for such a beautiful and welcoming place to stay! She was so easy to work with during the whole process of renting the house and would do it all over again in a heartbeat! The house is self is breathtaking. We could not have asked for a better place to spend our 10 year anniversary! Every thing you might need was in that house! Location was perfect. Close to town yet far enough away. The beach in front of the house is so private and enchanting. The house was everything we could of wished for and then some. I highly recommend this place! We will be back!Recommended for: Girls getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thank you for your comments and compliments. My manager is absolutely the best, I agree. She bends over backwards to accommodate the needs of our renters. We like to think we have the house readied for any possible contingency, and for lots of fun and relaxation. And of course, Mother Nature kindly takes care of the beach and all its wonders. We would love to welcome you back soon! Jinny Ralls, owner

We enjoyed 4 wonderful days at this amazing home. It is so serene. Waking to the sound of the crashing ocean. My daughter doing cartwheels on the huge deck. My son trying to finish the puzzle he found on a bookshelf. We used the fireplace every night. Had a Bon fire in the side garden. Had an impromptu BBQ. The house is set high enough so you have complete privacy. No need to draw the blinds, however low enough that you can easily reach the waters edge via the very accessible staircase. As someone else mentioned, if you go for a walk during low tide, and do not return until high tide, you will have to get wet or scramble thru the rocks to reach the deck. Everything you could possibly need is in the house, from binoculars, to cards, books, wifi, you name it. The manager was very accessible. We had two issues for which she was readibly available. Both were resolved to our satisfaction. The house is about 20 minutes from Cape Perpetua visitors center. There is a small (pricey) market within 5 minutes for pressing needs and a larger one about 40 minutes away in Florence. The house is warm and inviting and everyone in my family from the youngest (8) to the oldest (84) enjoyed it.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway.

My wife and I just finished an anniversary weekend at this house and can't say enough about its comfort, style, charm and location. This vacation home has an obviouvly caring, clever and artisitic owner. Two comfortable bedrooms. A fireplace and a wood stove and electric heat for those times when it gets chilly. A kitchen that made cooking two seafood dinners a dream. And a location that is superb. Large windows in the living room and the main bedroom look directly west toward the ocean. And the ocean is your backyard. There is no hike to the beach. One descends some steps that can be negotiated by just about anyone--whether they be a child, someone on crutches or using a walker. At low tide, about 100 yards of dry sand awaits. At high tide, you'll get your toes wet almost as soon as you step off the last of the stairs. Inside, there is everything one would hope for in a vacation home and more. You might even be tempted to leave your favorite book at home. Chances are, the eclectic collection on hand will have something to suit you. Stormy outside? There are board games, TV, music, a guitar, and speakers for your Ipod. The art will cheer and fascinate you. The asian gardens in front and back of the house will calm you. And, when you venture away from the house you will find more of what we think is the most interesting part of the Oregon coast.Recommended for: Families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway.

We rented this home for my family including my brothers' fiance'. It was her first time to the Oregon Coast. I don't think any of us could have imagined a better experience. This home is so wonderfully inviting, and decorated with such creativity inspired by a life spent collecting from adventures near and far. It has a funky, cozy charm and does not fit any mold. The rear garden is an incredible adventure for careful children and appreciative adults. After our arrival, we explored the house and quickly agreed this would be our destination from now on. I cannot say enough about our experience here. Our favorite times were spent sitting on the deck which is literally feet from the ocean (with steps leading all the way to the sand) and enjoying being together. Really, really wonderful.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway.

Can't say enough about this beautiful house. It is RIGHT on the beach. "Great room" right up against the windows is where we spent all our time, with a roaring fireplace. Completely clean and well-maintained, one can tell that the owner takes great pride in this house. The decorations are eclectic and fabulous. Loved using the magnetic letters on the frig to make up pithy but wise sayings! Master bedroom was just beautiful, and the view through that window couldn't be beat, either. And the master bath -- colorful and charming. Beds in both master and second bedroom are very comfortable. The water pressure in both showers was excellent. Kitchen is perfectly adequate, all kinds of pots and pans and utensils, and lots of cooking supplies -- we even left a few behind ourselves. Small studio behind kitchen would be great for some quiet reading time. Gardens are beautiful; it was fun just to walk around and look at all the work that is being done in the gardens. If the weather had cooperated more fully (it rained practically the whole time we were there) it would have been more than heaven on earth. Mostly we relaxed, but my sister and I did pry ourselves away from the setting to eat at Yuzen Restaurant. Great tempura. Other days we used the kitchen to prepare everything, it was perfect. Would recommend this to anyone staying in Yachats. You won't be disappointed.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.
