JJ's OCEANFRONT GUEST HOUSE
Immerse yourself in the unique and wild beauty of the Oregon coast at our oceanfront retreat in Yachats, Oregon.
No matter what the season, the Pacific is a magical place of soul, spirit, and energy. Let your senses revel in the sights, sounds, smells, and textures of nature's beauty; allow its timeless rhythms to recharge your spirit.
Artistically decorated house has a master bedroom with private bath, 2nd bedroom, 2nd bath, studio room, kitchen/family room, and separate living room/eating area.
The "great room" living and eating area has a FULL WALL OF OCEAN-FACING WINDOWS, providing an unobstructed view of the western skies and mighty Pacific. It also has a WOOD STOVE to cozy up to while watching Mother Nature's many moods, the fishing boats, or spouting whales.
The Kitchen/family area has a fantastic TURQUOISE FIREPLACE and flat screen TV. It opens out to the eastern deck and back garden. A separate SUN-DRENCHED STUDIO, also with an ocean view, is perfect for painting, writing, or reading.
A PRIVATE STAIRCASE WITH RAILING leads down to the flat beach that is just right for kiting, jogging, walking, beach combing, a game of football,or building fires to roast marshmallows.
The small but lively community of Yachats, with its many restaurants, galleries, and unique gift shops is known as "the gem of the Oregon Coast", and is less than 1 mile away. East of town are lovely hiking trails in the National Forest. 20 minutes north in Newport is the Oregon State Marine Science Center and the Oregon Coast Aquarium where Keiko the whale lived for many years. It's also the World Headquarters of the Rogue Brewery. The adventurous can surf, kite, kayak, fish or crab in the ocean and nearby estuaries. South of Yachats is the famed Sea Lion Caves.
WHAT OUR GUESTS HAVE SAID:
"This magical place took me back to when we got married. It was like a mini honeymoon. This was a romantic and enchanting retreat away from all the business life can bring. I love the ocean! It is constant and dependable, and soothes the soul."
"...being in this amazing house full of treasures and I just can't stop looking around me. Nothing is missing in this house, from olive oil to candles to put on our 2 yr old son's cake. Thanks! This house is a 4 day pass to heaven."
"We booked two nights, and after just one night we called and added a third. This place is so peaceful and soothing - we are restored and can leave with our cups overflowing."
"The view is magnificent, to put it mildly....(my husband's) 83 year old mom was even able to get down to the beach with her walker because of the easy to maneuver steps. I'm ready to go home and paint a room red! I love it!"

Incredibly Warm and Artistic Home

We rented this home for my family including my brothers' fiance'. It was her first time to the Oregon Coast. I don't think any of us could have imagined a better experience. This home is so wonderfully inviting, and decorated with such creativity inspired by a life spent collecting from adventures near and far. It has a funky, cozy charm and does not fit any mold. The rear garden is an incredible adventure for careful children and appreciative adults. After our arrival, we explored the house and quickly agreed this would be our destination from now on. I cannot say enough about our experience here. Our favorite times were spent sitting on the deck which is literally feet from the ocean (with steps leading all the way to the sand) and enjoying being together. Really, really wonderful.

Can't say enough about this beautiful house. It is RIGHT on the beach. "Great room" right up against the windows is where we spent all our time, with a roaring fireplace. Completely clean and well-maintained, one can tell that the owner takes great pride in this house. The decorations are eclectic and fabulous. Loved using the magnetic letters on the frig to make up pithy but wise sayings! Master bedroom was just beautiful, and the view through that window couldn't be beat, either. And the master bath -- colorful and charming. Beds in both master and second bedroom are very comfortable. The water pressure in both showers was excellent. Kitchen is perfectly adequate, all kinds of pots and pans and utensils, and lots of cooking supplies -- we even left a few behind ourselves. Small studio behind kitchen would be great for some quiet reading time. Gardens are beautiful; it was fun just to walk around and look at all the work that is being done in the gardens. If the weather had cooperated more fully (it rained practically the whole time we were there) it would have been more than heaven on earth. Mostly we relaxed, but my sister and I did pry ourselves away from the setting to eat at Yuzen Restaurant. Great tempura. Other days we used the kitchen to prepare everything, it was perfect. Would recommend this to anyone staying in Yachats. You won't be disappointed.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.
