Rest & Relax or Party & Play @ Running Y Ranch Mountain Home
Year Purchased: 2007
Why the Owner Chose Klamath Falls
Our favorite golf course is the Arnold Palmer-designed links at the Running Y Ranch. It's challenging enough for the skilled golfer, but "playable" enough with generous fairways and greens for when we want to work on our game or just enjoy a fun, social round. The course is ranked in the top 100 nationwide and you'll hear me describe it this way, "Every hole is a picture postcard. It's so amazingly beautiful". Bordering the golf course is Klamath Lake! We've been boating, fishing and hiking here. Tip: Bring your camera... there's tons to take pictures of and create a photo library of your vacation!
The Unique Benefits at this House
World Class Lakes and Rivers... From one of the worlds most picturesque lakes, Crater Lake to one of the most family-friendly, fun-filled spots, Lake of the Woods, the Klamath Falls Running Y Ranch playground is amazing. Everywhere you look there are rivers just ripe with trophy-size fish and rafting and boating opportunities around every corner. Come on, jump in... The water's great! Plus in Wintertime, the Ice Skating Arena is open. It's magical to be there with family just having fun skating and sipping hot chocolate. Think those romance movies you've seen... it's really quite special.

Owner's Map of Klamath Falls
Our family grew up fishing and boating in the lakes and rivers around Sonoma and Napa Counties, California and we love the mountains. Ever since we sold our publishing business, we've tried to find the perfect place to take our grown kids and their families to spend time with them. With our very first visit to the Running Y Ranch, there was no question we had to make this our go-to destination. We found a home large enough to accommodate the kids and scooped it up. It's heavenly to sit on the front porch or back deck and let the mountain air just penetrate and soothe your soul. The abundant wildlife and picturesque mountain and trees shows you God is in the details. It's an amazing place to stay active too. We golf, ATV, horse back ride, hike, bike ride, fish... and on it goes. We hope you'll find the peaceful tranquility of our home as well as all the amazing activities to suit your preferences the same way our family does. Come anytime for a visit! Enjoy. Sharon & Mike.

We had a wonderful experience staying at the Running Y Ranch. The house was beautiful, we enjoyed having my younger brother (a chef) cook for us all, and he made the most delicious BBQ chicken. The resort offers a pool which we found by exploring the surrounding area, it had a kiddie pool too for the younger children and that made it possible for us all to a fun time. Also, the games in the hall closet were a wonderful touch, my stepdaughter enjoyed playing them. Thank you for a wonderful vacation, we will be back!

The Running Y Ranch offers lots of activities, the location was ideal for us. The kids could bike, we were not far from the golf course and 10 minutes from kayaking on Klamath lake. The house was in excellent condition, clean, well maintained and nicely decorated. The owner was great with communication and gave us lots of feedback on activities and what to expect in the house and during our visit to Klamath. I would recommend this home for a family as it is comfortable, affordable, plenty of room to spread out and in a great location.

This location provided an absolutely incredible weekend getaway. It's in a great location, relatively close to a major city and provides an opportunity to get away from it all. The house is impeccably detailed and guests should have a great time both inside, with all the features, and outside on the spacious deck. I highly recommend this location for guests. We will return for a future getaway! Steve

Our family had a wonderful stay at the Running Y Ranch. Casa Moosa provided very comfortble accomodations in a very peaceful setting. The home was very clean, well provisioned and nicely decorated. We enjoyed the nearby attractions of Crater Lake and Lake of the Woods. The walking paths around the community were very nice for an evening stroll. The resteraunt at Running Y Ranch offered good food in a good beer in a casual environment.
Owner response:We consistently get glowing reviews like this from our friends. The Running Y Ranch and surrounding area, as the Nolans suggest, is such a wonderful family retreat. The nearby lakes, especially world-renown Crater Lake offer unmatched beauty. And the amenities of the resort are simply wonderful. Hope the deer were out for you to see too! Come visit us again.

This was a perfect place to spend a weekend with my family. Great location, very clean, well-appointed, lots of fun things to do in the area. Even the neighbors were friendly! The icing on the cake was finding our favorite board games stocked in the closet. :-) Thanks for sharing your home with us.

The house was even better than it looked in the pictures - they should add a shot of the Master Bath! It was nicely furnished, and had everything we needed. The view from the porch is beautiful - out over the porch and to the mountains. Just walking around the neighborhood was fun - one dream house after another. Our group was comprised of 5 adults and 3 kids. The variety of activities at the Running Y and in the area kept us all entertained. At the fitness center we played ping-pong, basketball and tennis. We also used the pool daily. Though the pool is indoors, there are glass doors all the way around, providing views out to the trees, and there's a patio with loungers right off of the pool that looks over the valley. Breathtaking! The staff there is friendly and provides balls, rackets, paddles, towels - whatever you need to enjoy the facilities. Of course we must mention the golf. Our group had 4 hackers and one beginner. We took advantage of the twilight rates and enjoyed playing on the beautiful course. A course surprise - beavers! They also have something I've never seen before. Around the clubhouse they have designed a beautifully landscaped 18 hole putting course. We played with the whole family and had a blast. Golfers will enjoy some truly challenging up- and downhill putts! Surrounding area: My brother brought his sailboat, and one day we drove 25 minutes to the Lake of the Woods resort for a sail. The lake is pristine, and the resort is very well maintained and offers a variety of activities - paddle boat rentals, jet skis, power boats, fishing and swimming. The water was a bit chilly for me - but the kids and braver adults took a dip when we anchored the boat in the middle of the lake. We fished for about 20 minutes (off the anchored sailboat) and caught a small trout. Klamath Lake is closer by, but there didn't seem to be any real activity going on there (no boats, just flat, glassy lake). It's nice to walk up to the ridge and see the view, though! Overall we had a truly enjoyable stay, and everyone agreed that we would love to come back!
Owner response:Wow! Makes me want to move there full time! This place truly is a wonderful getaway. And we love our guests.

We had the pleasure of staying for a week at the wonderful "Casa Moosa" in Running Y resort in mid July while our son attended a class at nearby OIT. It is beautifully decorated and made us feel immediately at home. We had many wonderful meals on the back deck watching the wildlife parade by (especially the birds!). Our favorite activity, however, was just sitting out at reading a quiet book and listening to the silence. There are not many places you can go that are that quiet and peaceful. In fact, it took us a few days to get used to all the "unstress" :-). Of couse we also took long walks and played tennis every day and utilized the pool and spa . We enjoyed cooking in the well- equipped kitchen and, of course, BBQing on the grill. It was a wonderful relaxing stay-a perfect antidote to the fast -paced life in the world "outside". Thanks Mike for the use of your fantastic and comfortable home! We will return.
