This is a gorgeous location and comfortable place to stay. We arrived on the snowiest, coldest day of the year to the warm and cozy guest house on the hill to find Christmas trees lit in every room, gingerbread cookies, music playing and a bottle of wine on the table. George and Donna are generous, helpful yet unobtrusive hosts. The house is fully stocked with all one would need. The location was peaceful and stunningly beautiful yet you are truly less than 15 minutes from the hustle and bustle of the plaza. We hope to go back when the weather is warmer so we can enjoy the patio!
Owner response:Thank you, for the great review, Joe and Caryn! We hope to see you back again. George

Thanksgiving holiday Nov. 2011. I loved this guest house from the listing but being there surpassed my expectations. View of the snow-capped peaks are spectacular; Parachute Run clearly visible at the ski basin. Bird watcher mecca. Favorites: Wine and pecan pie awaiting us on arrival, the view, the rainbow in the valley the day it rained, fire in the kiva, village church bells Sunday when we left, Bishop's Lodge Road to the Plaza(we called it the back way), seasonal touches, cozy SW interior, feeding the birds, feeling away from it all but access to the computer, cell phone, and TV if we desired, kitchen complete but try the oven baked pizza at Tesque Village Market down the hill, pet friendly "Hi, Buster", and flannel sheets and down comforter on the king bed. Santa Fe Farmers' Market, breakfast or lunch at the San Marcos Cafe on the Turquoise Trail, chili at Rio Chama, and anything at the Tesque Village Market. George and Donna are gracious hosts. Santa Fe has been a yearly destination for our family for a decade. If I could stay anywhere I wanted, it would be here.
Owner response:Trisha: Thank you very much for your gracious and thoughtful review! We're glad you enjoyed the guest house and hope you will come again. Have a great Christmas! George & Donna

I stayed at this Guest House on the Hill in late August, 2011. It was truly a wonderful experience. The views from the enclosed patio are fantastic. The property is very quiet and the house is charming. I recommend it highly.

We stayed here 4 nights in June and loved the peace and tranquility of the Teseque hilltop neighborhood. George and Anne's very comfortable guesthouse was stocked with everything. Just sitting outside on the patio for breakfast or drinks in the evening was so relaxing. 10 minutes easy drive north of Sante Fe made this a perfect spot for taking day trips. We'll definitely be back.
Owner response:The names in the text should read "George & Donna" rather than "Geroge & Anne."

We fell in love with this as we parked our car, even before seeing the view from the patio and opening the door. This place is so charming! Just the right mix of old and new. It is hard for us to leave. We will be back! This place is a treasure. Thank your for all you do to make this so accommodating.

What a great spot! We really appreciate all the special touches: pumpkins, fall decor, wine, comfy bed, nice linens. You really make the "Guest House on the Hill" feel like home. Thanks for everything! We'll be back when we can stay longer.

We truly enjoyed our 5 day visit in early March 2008. George and Donna make for a very comfortable home environment (stocked with everything you need) and it is such a peacful and beautiful surrounding. We had snow which made the landscape even more dramatic and picturesque. We like the location of just 5 miles out of downtown Santa Fe - you are there in less than 10 minutes. George was also helpful in recommending day trips, restaurants that locals frequent, etc. This is a perfect getaway place and we highly recommend it to others.
