Come enjoy this lake house get-away only 40 minutes outside of Atlanta. The top floor of the home contains the kitchen, living room, dining room, breakfast area, a half bath, the master bedroom & bathroom, a second bedroom with its own separate bathroom, a sitting area, an office, and the laundry room. The family room has a brand new giant 52 inch hdtv with most cable channels, a dvd player, sound system, two large leather sofas, and one leather lazy boy chairs. The kitchen has granite counter tops, microwave, toaster oven, fridge w/ ice-maker, trash compactor, second sink, and breakfast area. Enjoy breakfast while looking through the french doors to the lake. The master bedroom has an over-sized bay window with views of the lake, access to the deck, and a king sized bed. The master bathroom has a garden jacuzzi tub, and a separate walk- in shower big enough for a party. The second bedroom also has a king size bed and its own full bathroom.
The bottom floor has two more bedrooms each with its own full bathroom. One bedroom has a king sized bed, and other bedroom has a queen bed. Both bedrooms have windows, and the side facing the lake has full sized windows and doors to the path leading to the dock and lake. There is a bathroom with a door that opens up directly to the path down to the lake for easy access while hanging out on the dock. Down stairs also has an un-furnished greatroom, media room, and game room which can be used for air beds which we will be happy to provide.
The giant 15x40 elevated party deck stretches accross most of top lakeside of the home, and it can be accessed from french doors in either the living room or kitchen as well as a door from the master bedroom, and half flight of stairs from the yard. The deck is surrounded by trees, and it stays shady and cool most of the day. Cook out on the deck on the grill while enjoying the view of the lake.
At the bottom of the short set of stairs from the back deck is the gentle, lit, mulch path down to the lake and the double decker party deck. There is an electrical outlet on the deck, lights for night-time enjoyment, and a water faucet at the end of the path to the dock. The water at the end of the dock is right at fifteen feet deep as of the beginning of July. The home is located in a cove on the main south end of the lake. Numerous marinas are just a few minutes away where you can rent a boat or jet-ski or gas up your own. The Vanns Tavern boat ramp located less than a third of a mile from the house is up and running if you need a put in for your boat. The dock has plenty of room around it for swimming, boating or fishing. There is a canoe you are free to use on the dock with paddles and life jackets.
If you feel like taking a break from the lake, you can start right around the corner at the famous and festive Lantern Inn featuring Elvis and Patsy Cline impersonators on Friday and Saturday nights. The restaurant is about five minutes away by boat or car (it has its own dock!). Tons of shopping at either the Dawsonville outlets fifteen minutes away or at the South-East's largest mall, the Mall of Georgia, about twenty-five minutes away which also has an I-Max theater.
Less than thirty minutes from the home are Road Atlanta, Chateau Elan and several other north Georgia wineries which provide tours of the vineyards as well as some very tasty wine sampling, downtown Gainesville, Lake Lanier Islands water park and golf course, and Georgia's largest flea market Pendegrass Flea Market. In around an hour or less you can get to the Georgia Aquarium and other downtown attractions in Atlanta, Athens, GA and the historic University of Georgia, or the extensive hiking trails in the north Georgia mountains including the start of the Appalachian Trail. Whether you want to spend a relaxing week or weekend vacationing on the lake, or you are looking for a substantially better alternative to an Atlanta hotel, our house is a great home away from home.
