Our split level mountain home is situated on Shuford Mt in Penrose NC (12 minutes east of Brevard and 20 minutes west of Hendersonville off Hwy 64)near a pastoral valley with pastures and cows. It has well appointed and newly renovated...with lovely furniture and granite top counters in kitchen and bathrooms. We have an ample supply of spices in the kitchen that you are welcome to use. The MBR is a dreamy large room with a super comfortable king size bed and which has French doors leading out to its own private deck with rocking chairs and 60' cascading waterfall right off the deck. Our home is a delightful pace to kick back and listen to the soothing waterfall. The cottage is nestled amongst tall trees and rhododendrons. Listening to birds or a passing thunderstorm while sitting on the large screen porch with a cathedral ceiling is fantastic. We have many good novels and board games and jigsaw puzzles to entertain you. There is a bird feeder you can fill to watch the birds more up closely. Our home is a wonderful place to rejuvenate and make memories. One can open the windows and hear the waterfall all over the house.
Hiking trails for waterfalls and mountain top vistas are very close by in DuPont State Forest, Pisgah National Forest, Gorges State Park and along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Mountain music can be heard in nearby places as well as live theater at the NC State Theater in Flat Rock. Carl Sandburg National Historic Site is also in nearby Flat Rock. Sliding Rock in Pisgah National Forest is loads of fun for kids and grandkids. Biltmore House, Cascade lake Recreation area..on and on... Brevard is home to the cute WHITE SQUIRREL.
