    • Our time at the cottage was so peaceful and refreshing. Our children enjoyed visiting with the animals. The views were very calming. The cottage itself was clean and contained all we needed for a very comfortable week. The location was central enough to enjoy Hilo and the surrounding area, but far enough away that we felt like we were the only ones on the island...

    • This guest house was perfect for the two of us. Great views, great hosts, near the falls, near Hilo, and everything it says it is. The pea hens looking in the window were a fun addition to the morning!

    • This was a wonderful place to stay! My daughter and I stayed for 3 nights and really loved the cottage. It is well appointed and we didn't want for anything. It was great that there is a washing machine and a dryer too as we had been travelling for 7 days before staying there and it was lovely to be able to wash some clothes. What a beautiful area too, quiet and secluded but close to everything on the East coast. In the mornings I could see out the kitchen window and Mauna Kea was right there in all its majesty. I would recommend this vacation rental to anyone.

    • After experiencing tall buildings, heavy traffic, and too many people in Honolulu for a week, it was such a joy to come to the serenity of this cabin near Akaka Falls. You stand on the front porch and look to the east, you see the Pacific Ocean. You look to the northeast and you see a snow covered volcano. In between, there are banana trees, cows, horses, sheep, and a llama. The fresh water prawns from the adjacent river were magnificant. From the river to your stomach in less than 30 minutes; that is fresh! We highly recommend this cabin to anyone loving beauty and serenity, and the owner is a JEWEL.

    • We've stayed here for a couple of weeks, and had such a wonderful time. Our 17 months old daughter could have tried horseback riding with my wife. And she liked it.Altough, she might not remenber what she'd done in Hawaii, but we're it would difinitely influence her personality through the experience she had. We had so much fun visiting many kinds of animals which we can barely see in Tokyo. We had so much fun walking down to the river in such a calm environment.Hope we come back and stay here again very soon.Mahalo!

    • We had an magical time at this steal of a cottage. Kona coffee on the lanai, while the peacocks came to visit our delighted children; morning over a snow-capped Mauna Kea with spectacular ocean views. An easy walk down the road to a little waterfall, and access to lots of East Hawaii fun. The cottage was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed to enjoy delicious meals in a lovely setting. We can't wait to come back!

    • Serenity, and ohana are the first two words that come to mind. Looking out the window to find the contrast between Tootsie (the horse) eating the bananas and the snow crested Mauna Kea was such a great visual treat. Honomu defiantly warms the cockles of a nature lovers heart- we will be sure to return!

    • The cabin was a delight; Colorful, bright, airy, contemporary, and very artistic. The views through all the windows on all the walls surrounding the house were beyond spectacular. I could look out one window and see the volcano with horses grazing in the pasture; turn around and see a rainbow over the ocean. We were taught how to catch fresh water prawns and had them on the barbeque with dinner most night, yum. We did not want to leave. We will definately return.

    • This cottage is a hidden treasure. Finally, an alternative to Hilo's limited hotel selection! Besides being convenient to Hilo, the cottage is new, clean and set in the most tranquil surrounding which made it difficult to leave. The price is right, too!

    • My husband and I loved the beautiful ocean view that met us every morning when we awoke. Getting up early some mornings, we could also see Mauna Kea covered in pink from the rising sun. And oh yes, there were also the rainbows with the horse lama and donkeys grazing in the background. This is as close to Eden as you can get! The cottage is comfortable with warm covers that you do really need at night. The lanai is a wonderful place to have meals. The only problem we had was that our vacation ended much too soon and we had to leave this paradise. But we'll be back!
