Perfect Noe Valley Flat - Walk Everywhere & Transit Friendly
Year Purchased: 2004
Why the Owner Chose Noe Valley
We chose Noe Valley as our home because it is our favorite area of the city. The weather is great and it is a safe and beautiful neighborhood to live in. Many of the blocks are rows and rows of adorable Victorians. We love to just take walks through the neighborhood and admire the different styles of Victorian homes. Noe Valley is also great because you can walk every where (to the post office, banks, drug store, cheese store, flower shops, gourmet chocolate shop, wine store, liquor stores, corner markets, restaurants, camera shop, toy stores, neighorhood bars, coffee houses, bakery, delis, donut shop, clothing and shoe stores). You name it and it is here. It is like being in a small town in the middle of a big city. We also have a farmers market every Saturday with live country music. It really gives you that small town feel. Also the people here are very nice. These are the reasons we love it here so much.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment
Some of the benefits to staying at our flat is, of course, the location. We are at Church St., near 23rd Street. Our flat is Victorian building with high ceilings, new carpet and remodeled kitchen with granite counters and hardwood floors. You can see the sunrise from the front windows and a partial bay view, from the back you can see Twin Peaks and the sunset. It is a nice place to stay to call home for a while. We are very transit friendly because you can catch the Muni streetcar just a half block from the flat and go downtown shopping and sightseeing. We are also close to BART which is another transit system that is very fast. It is a 10-12 minute walk to the station, but you can get to downtown Union Square in about 5 minutes once you are on the train. It's very fast and convenient. Besides San Francisco, Bart goes all over the Bay Area.
Historic Dolores Park with its panoranic views of San Francisco, features a large playground, picnic area, tennis courts, basketball courts. Mission Dolores is near.
Underground mass transit system. 5-min. ride to downtown SF. Take BART to Powell St Station (Union Square shopping area), Montgomery (Financial Dist), Embarcadero (Embarcadero Center shopping, Ferry B
Nice little neighborhood park with swings, jungle gym, tennis and basketball courts. A very nice 10-minute walk past all the shops of 24th St, or you can walk down 23rd St which has beautiful Victoria
Catch the Muni here and take it downtown. Short walk from the flat, less than a block.
Founded in 1776, it is the oldest building in San Francisco, and oldest intact mission in California. There is also a very old graveyard next to it. It is very historic and worth seeing.

The rental agents offer a great apartment and are very welcoming and helpful. Everything was provided right down to the laundry soap making travelling lighter, cheaper, and easier. The neighborhood is very quiet and welcoming with an abundance of shops and eateries. I recommend Haystack's pizza if you're in the mood for great pie and service. Transportation is easily accessible. I highly recommned this rental unit and will be back in the future.

My wife and I spent 8 days in San Francisco and had a fantastic time. The location of the house made traveling in and around the San Franciso area easy. We had a rental car and there was always a space in the driveway to park. The Muni is 400 feet from the front door. The 24th Street shops are a hop, skip and jump away. Bakeries, eateries, Whole Foods Market and all kinds of interesting shops are an easy walk from the house. We didn't check out the bars but they looked cool and were busy every night. Joy and Mike were there when we had a question and offered up their personal favorite Italian eatery for our first night out. (Capps Corner-delicious). The house was very comfortable with a king bed (master bedroom), queen bed in the second bedroom and nice kitchen. We used the barbque one night after a fun day on Sat. at the Ferry Building open market. Wireless connection throughout and HD TV's in every room. Plenty of towels and high quality blankets and sheets. Very comfortable. Full size washer and dryer are a nice touch (we didn't use them). We did all the tourist stuff, Wine Country (Jordan, Hanna, Hawk & Robert Young) Trolley cars, Fisherman's Wharf, Ghiradelli's Square, Union Square, China Town, Alcatraz and at least 2 restaruants every day. Don't miss Dotties True Blue Cafe....worth the wait. La Ciccia for incredible Italian is another recommendation. Just down the street on Church & 30th Street. We did Brother's Korean BBQ on Geary (not quite sure what the side dishes where...interesting) and for seafood we ate at Anchor Oyster Bar on Castro Street. Also worth the wait. All in all, the house rental was great, the location is perfect...nice area to walk, or bike and easy to access all forms of public transportation. We highly recommend the house on Church. Thank you Joy and Mike for letting us stay the extra day. (Airline troubles due to bad weather on the day we were leaving.)

My wife and our 2 daughters stayed for one week in the flat owned by Joy and Michael. The flat is large, very clean and very well equiped. It is very well situated in the nice Noe valley area, all shops are within walking distance from the flat. You can easily go to downtown SF with the street car which runs in front of the flat. Joy and Michael are very nice and helpful people. We had a great time in SF, partly due to the nice flat we stayed in.

My husband and I stayed here May 14-16. What a wonderful flat. Everything was clean and well stocked and the lay-out made it easy for us to have our daughter in the USCG over for a night while her ship was in dock. The owners are extremely friendly, helpful and generous. We will certainly be back and tell others as well. The Noa Valley and especially 24th street is a delight- every shop you can imagine and to our great surprise, a cheese shop with every cheese imaginable. It was as if we had returned to France for breakfast. We too have a vrbo in Oregon and so well appreciate the efforts of other vrbo owners. Mike and Joy are gems.

We stayed at this beautiful flat with our granddaughter. Everything was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. There was plenty of room for us, and lots of amenities that we didn't expect. Joy and Michael are delightful. We will definitely be back!

We stayed at the Freethy’s lovely Noe Valley apartment with our 9-month-old son for a week at the end of August and couldn’t have been happier. The apartment is very charming, with plenty of space to spread out and relax. We set up a portable crib for our son in one of the bedrooms and kept the king sized bed in the other bedroom for ourselves. The kitchen was quite large, and while we didn’t do any cooking, it made preparing baby meals very easy. The location can’t be beat, being about a block and a half to all of the shops and restaurants on 24th street. We especially enjoyed the Farmers Market on Saturday with live bluegrass! The apartment is also a pretty easy walk to some of SF’s best restaurants on Valencia Street in the Mission. (Don’t miss Bar Tartine for a fantastic dinner!) Joy and Michael were extremely friendly and helpful. They even helped us find a wonderful babysitter so we were able to go out a few nights! If you are looking for space, charm and a great neighborhood location, this is an ideal apartment for you.

My girlfriend & I just had the most wonderful San Francisco vacation staying at this marvelous flat! It was so much better than staying in a stuffy hotel downtown. We walked to 24th St, shopped at the many cute clothing stores, dined at some great restaurants, went to some Noe Valley bars too. One day, we caught the Muni street car in front of the flat and spent the day downtown sightseeing. Another day we walked to the Bart station and took the train over to Berkeley. It was great! The perfect location to do many things! The owners were very sweet & accommodating. They wanted us to be completely comfortable. We would love to come back again some day. We highly recommend this rental!

My family and I really enjoyed our stay in San Francisco in large part due to Joy and Michael's tourist-friendly apartment. The house centrally located and a short walk to quaint Noe Valley businesses. The apartment is adorable and includes anything you would need in a home away from home with clean, ample rooms, well-appointed decor and even an enclosed backyard. The topper is the close proximity to the Muni to take you anywhere you might want to go in the city. Thank you so much Joy and Michael. I would definitely rent this space again.
