Whether you’re looking for a mountain retreat for your family reunion or just a quiet weekend for 2, this log sided mountain home has something to offer everyone. Each of the three bedrooms provides a different theme. Spend the night in the “Wolves Den”, the “Bunk House” or “Chipeta’s Wickiup*”.
The “Wolve's Den” offers a king sized bed with modern wolf decor and is located on the main floor adjacent to a master bath, laundry, kitchen and quaint living area with the serene environment of a mountain cabin.
The “Bunk House” with its cowboy theme provides two bunk beds; one double and one twin, a trundle and room for an additional cot if necessary. “Chipeta’s Wickiup” is decorated with Indian paintings and art and offers a queen size bed. Both the “Bunk House” and “Chipeta’s Wickiup” are located on the lower level and have a second full sized restroom, as well as additional living space.
From the deck enjoy breathtaking views and relax while observing many different types of wildlife that forage through the property. It’s not unusual to see deer on a daily basis. The birds are magnificent and when the sun goes down take out the telescope from the living room and look at all the constellations.
When you’re ready to see the sights, there is so much to choose from with the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center only 2 miles away, Florissant Fossil Beds a 4 minute drive, Historic Cripple Creek (gambling as well as family fun) 18 miles away, Woodland Park, Dinosaur Museum, the North Pole, Manitou Springs, Indian Cliff Dwellings, Cave of the Winds, Garden of the Gods, etc. all within a short driving distance. If you’re the Outdoorsy type Mueller State Park is just around the corner. Hiking is abundant with Catamount and the Crags and fishing is everywhere.
All area activity information and brochures are nicely organized in our vacationer’s notebook provided at the Retreat. As a matter of fact, any thing you may need is provided. Board games, satellite TV, a fireplace, the Cowboy Bar, DVD’s, BBQ grill, a turkey fryer, books, and the list goes on.
If you have a special request, let us know. We can usually provide for it. Remember we use this as our Retreat, and have the need to accommodate our toddlers as well as our pets.
