Villa Olivia is a deluxe two story vacation home located on the pristine sandy beach of Playa Grande (sleeps 9, with studio 13). The mediteranean style architecture of this Costa Rican beach house emphasizes open spaces and large verandas. Furnishings and decor are contemporary and comfortable, many custom-made from local hardwoods. Tropical gardens, banana, palm and coconut trees create an intimate atmosphere. Studio (sleeps 4)
queen bed, twin bed, and single futon bed. It is equipped with a kitchenette, air-conditioning, private bath and features a spacious countryside deck with a rancho and wet bar.
Included in the rental rate is all fees, wireless internet, room cleaning every third day and nightly security. A private cook and daily house cleaning is available at an additional cost. Reduced rates for smaller groups.
Playa Grande stretches over two miles along the magnificent northwest pacific coastline, 30 min. north of Playa Tamarindo and 30 min. south of Playa Flamingo. Villa Olivia sits on the northern end of Playa Grande near the big rock. This is a small beach community of only a dozen oceanfront vacation/retirement homes. There are numerous restaurants, a pulperia, spa and surf shop. A couple of large markets are only a 10 minute drive away.
Villa Olivia offers a perfect and uncomplicated oceanfront vacation, specifically designed for couples, friends, families, or groups. A wonderful place to hold a wedding on the beach. Along with our other villa located next door, Casa Mirage, we can accommodates up to 26 guests.

Why the Owner Chose Playa Grande
We are a family of "water babies" born and raised on the beach shores of Santa Barbara, CA. (Of course the grand kids also have this ocean gene). Once my children (Julie, J.C, and Mark) became of an age when we could all travel my husband and I would take them during summer vacation on a surf safari to an exotic destination somewhere in the world. This was not only for fun, but to spend quality time with each other as well as to expose and educate them about different cultures and customs.
On a surfing safari to Costa Rica in '91 we instantly fell in love with the country, the kind and hospitable people, and the natural habitat. It was a paradise!! Long story short after returning to the States and raving to family and friends about this oasis a friend said he had the perfect property for our family in Playa Grande.
My husband flew down a month later and purchased the property for me as my 50th B-Day present! Over the past 17 years both my family and friends lives have been significantly enhanced by the beauty of the "Tico" people, the natural wonders that surrounds us and the "Pura Vida" lifestyle. This means Pure Life, an expression of contentment, happiness, and satisfaction with ones life. It's this philosophy that ranks Costa Rica as one of the happiest places in the world!!

Recently returned from the 4th trip I've planned to Playa Grande at Julie's Villas. I really cannot even describe how amazing this place is. The house is ridiculously nice and well maintained. The beach is like being in heaven. Can't say enough about this place. Just don't book in early January...cause that's when I go!

Julie your Villa Olivia is so beautiful. We chose the slow season and are thankful for your pricing. The staff, from Marianela, Kimberly, Jeffrey and tour guide Geiner were very accomadating and helpful. Kimberly had prepared an excellent meal for us upon arrival and took care of us the entire week. We truly did have the entire beach to ourselves. We are planning to return in March 2012. Thank you so much for letting us stay at your villa that is so sentimental to your family.

We stayed at Olivia for 10 days and practically had Playa Grande to ourselves. The studio had all the bare essentials we needed to live comfortably for 10 days. We cooked almost every night and spent the days surfing right in front of Olivia. We look forward to another stay at Olivia! Julie is great and even gave us recommendations for other places in CR to visit.

We had a group of 22 people staying in this property and the adjoining property Casa Mirage. There was plenty of room inside and out. The best part was the cook who went above and beyond to keep us fed and kitchen clean. The ocean facing side had a large veranda with rocking chairs, hammock and a large dining table. We spent most of the time there. Likes: space, beautiful setting, service (cooking and cleaning). Dislikes: Not much! No a/c in main room, and had to leave at the end of the week.

Awesome We stayed at Villa Olivia and the Casa Mirage for a week with a group of five families. Our group included ages 9 to 56 and everyone loved the homes and had a great time. The location right on a beautiful stretch of beach couldn't have been better and we all enjoyed the hammocks and rocking chairs on the front porches as well as the fresh water pool. The houses were both very comfortable worked out great for a group of several families. Would definitely stay there again!

Villas Olivia was a perfect fit for our vacation in Costa Rica (I was born and raised there, but live in the US now), I had a chance to invite all of my brothers and sisters and their kids whom all live in Costa Rica. We rented Casa Mirage as well and there was plenty of room for everyone. Playa Grande was a great setting to have a great vacation. The employees were very helpful.We are definitely thinking about going back in the future.

This was my 4th trip in as many years and I can't wait to go back! It is a lovely place - waking up to swaying palm trees, a walk on the beach with very few - if any - people on it - a delicious breakfast and then nothing to do but lay in a hamoc all day - or if you prefer - going into town, ziplining, ocean activities - and then wait for the most beautiful sunset you'll ever see - paradise!!

Accommodations: comfortable, not luxurious (very much to our liking), feels like home staff: very friendly & accommodating Location: perfect for surfing, surf fishing, beach walking & watching, relaxing, and close to tourist activities. Beach: only beach in area with houses right on sand...so very special!!!

This is our second trip in as many years and we will be back next year too! The property is so private, warm and inviting! You feel you are in a personal paradise and the rest of the world is far away! The rooms are so nice and beachy, the property offers views all day long!
