  We just spent 3 comfortable nights at this lovely condo. The owner thinks of every detail in making her guests feel at home and well cared for. This is truly 5-star service for a 3-star price. The place is immaculate, and exactly as pictured. The house-keeper was charming and thoughtful. She cooked us a couple of delicious meals, including goat stew from ingredients we provided. Cofresi is not in itself very exciting, but it is an excellent place for relaxing. It is also near to the famous 27-waterfalls tour, not far from zip-lines and a monkey sanctuary, and many other regional activities. The property manager, John, took the time to answer a number of questions for us. Thank you Johanne for our delightful stay. All in all it could not have been a better visit.

  Our family has had the privilege of living int he DR for almost 17 years. We've stayed in some really nice places,and then other times have been tremendously disappointed because they weren't anything like the photos. You know how that goes! I was actually looking for different information and just happed to see Johanne & Fred's condo come up. We were looking for a special place to go with our son, who was coming home from college in the US. We wanted something different from a resort. On the way up to Puerto Plata, my family asked me, "What are your expectations, mom?" I said, "I would just like it to be as nice as the photos." We walked in and said, "WOW!!! It's gorgeous!" Johanne has entrusted her guests with beautiful furniture, decorations, linens, huge TV and accessories, and a condo that will sweep you away from your stressful life, if only for a few days. We had an awesome, restful time. The condo complex is unusual, in that there is no/little noise at all. Just down the road at the hotels the music is blaring and there is a lot of commotion. Except for one night's celebration of the holidays next door, there was a silence unlike you ever hear in the DR. (Dominicans love a good party and love to laugh, which is great, but it can get noisy, too. The office manager, Luis, treats you like family, and he and the repairman on site are available any time you need them...with a smile! Yurbi, the lady who is available to clean and cook, has a wonderful personality and makes a person feel super special. She serves meals with a flare and the food is delicious. (We joked we were going to take her back home with us!) She is available if you need her, but will not come if you do not wish her services. The beach is just steps from the condo, and while it is not one of the country's better beaches, it is kept very clean and is very safe. It is nice for walking, sunbathing, kids, and snorkeling. Don't leave Cofresi without eating at Los Charros. It is nicely decorated, comfortable, clean, and the owner's wife is Mexican. The food is awesome and authentic. We have also eaten at Chris & Maddy's on several visits, and they have good traditional food. Thanks, Johanne, for allowing us to have a fantastic holiday with our son. J & C

  The condo was even nicer than it looks in the pictures--it's really a beautiful property. We appreciated that the Cofresi area is relatively quiet and peaceful, but it's still close to the airport and the various things to do in the area. Yurbi was really helpful and spoiled us with her cooking, which we think is better than any of the restaurants we went to on our trip. We had a great, relaxing time and would definitely recommend this to our friends.

  Johanne ....What an incredible time we had at your condo...It was everything you said and more. Yurbi is a gem......love the way she makes chicken.....kept every thing ship shape. We visited Luperon...Puerto Plata ...Sosua....Cabarette beach.....gave our friends from Ottawa a real Dominican experience....got to love those motoconcho's...lol. Thank you so much!!!!   I want to thankyou Johanne for your accomodations that you provided for me and my family. We had a lovely time in DR and happen to be looking forward to the next visit. Your place was absolutely lovely (the pictures do it no justice) and the view was superb. Yurbi was also a pleasure and kept the place very nice. Thanks for everything.

  We had a wonderful time in the beautiful Dominican Republic. Thank you Johanne for all the effort you put into making our stay so memborable. You definetly went above and beyond to assure our every need and want was met. The condo was beautiful and the lovely maid Yurbi kept it spotless. The meals she cooked for us were superb. We cannot wait to return.

  We found the apartment in an excellent condition and very well presented on our arrival. Pool area is great and it feels as it is your own, quiet and relaxing. The full time maid provided was excellent, very well behaviour and fantastic cooking skill. She made grocery purchases according to our requests and any other tasks you asked for. Restaurants and other facilities in the sourounding was all right for our needs. Beach was close and enjoyable. Travel to Santo Domingo, if one so wish is comfortable from Puerto Plata by bus.

  Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+.

  Had the pleasure to stay in this beautiful condo in April and was overjoyed with it's wonderful location and beautiful appointments. It is wonderfully decorated and in pristine condition. The beach is right across the street. The staff was professional, helpful and polite. I hope to return in July. Thank you for your hospitality.
