This is a wonderful home. My family and I have stayed several times and have thoroughly enjoyed ourselves on all occasions. The home is clean and spacious. We spent most of our time on the decks or gathering around the fireplace. We would definitely recommend this vacation rental to friends and family. Thanks so much. When we get to the house there is always a sense of relief! The pressures of the world seem to melt away. We've enjoyed the house for years and always look for to relaxing on the lake. The house feels like home every time we visit. It's great family time. Freshest lake water in the southeast bar none! Excellent fishing, boating, kayaking and waterfall exploration. No sand! No sharks or jellyfish! No rough under currents! (We alway giggle at those that are burning up at the beach) The dock is in a protected cove perfect for swimming. Best vacation without doubt. Pictures don't do it justice. Clean every time.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

We have been staying at Jocassee Lodge for years, and it's become a favorite spot of ours. With our family of six (and we always have a couple of friends in tow) JL is most comfortable. The separate family rooms on the two levels are perfect for children and adults. The large wrap-around deck is where we eat most meals, and the views are spectacular. The tiered lawn and patio areas are spacious and ideal for entertaining and yard games. Combine all of this with one of the most protected docks on the lake with ample room for two boats -- you have everything needed for a great vacation.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children, adventure seekers.

Jocassee Lodge is a fabulous place to reconnect with your family. You can find everything you need nearby but without all the distractions of more crowded vacation spots. We explored every nook and cranny of this georgous, unspoiled lake and swam under waterfalls and hiked up the streams that fill the lake with its remarkably clear cool waters. It is hard to believe how cool the lake is even in the heat of August. We saw a bald eagle catch a trout right out of the lake! The owners were very accomodating and have great attention to detail. The house is perfect for 2 families with plenty of room to spread out. The covered porches, lakeside lawns, patios, dock are very private and peaceful with long views of the lake and mountains. We will be back again soon.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2
