Beautiful Secluded Get Away

My review is actually 4.5 stars; We had an issue with lack of documentation on how to run the TV'/DVD. The owner got back to us within an hour, and told he'd insure the use of the tV/DVD was well documented. The home is truly beautiful with a very open and spacious floor plan. It feels like your in a tree when sitting in the Great Room. The large room upstairs is perfect for kids to play and sleep. I saw the negative review and have never experience any significant issues in my two stays at this Beautiful Home!

I have stayed at this property several times since 2006; I continue to be delighted with the priviacy and beauty of the home. The layout and amenities are perfect for my family and it works well when we bring another family. It's always spotless, well appointed and perfectly staged. I've stayed in several vacation rental properties and this sets the standard for excellence. That's why we expect to be back soon for a ski weekend.

Fantastic spot for family gathering

This is a beautiful home and of ample size for a large family to enjoy. The fact that the back of the home has a wonderful deck overlooking the National Forest is just such a huge benefit. The kids love exploring in the forest and if you quietly enjoy your cocktail on the back deck, you can also enjoy seeing the beautiful birds of AZ, the wild turkeys, Elk and sometimes, if you are lucky, a beautiful mild-mannered black bear. This house is outfitted with everything you need to enjoy a week or a month and Jeff is a fabulous host/owner and will ensure that all of your needs are met. I highly recommend a stay at this beautiful home in the tall pines of Torreon.

Wonderful home with lots of room for family! All the amenities included! Beautiful, secluded property located next to golf course with clubhouse and something for everyone. The home was exceptionally clean and well maintained. Comfortable beds and open floorplan. Had a BLAST...This is my favorite vacation home...will be back again soon!

my family and i have stayed at this property countless times and it never disappoints! if you like golf, you can't get much better than Torreon. if you like gentle sounds of pine trees swaying in the breeze while you dine on the very large patio with friends, this is the place. the property is always well maintained, accessible from the valley and easy to find, and the owner is incredibly helpful. like i said, i'll continue to go back time and time again.....

Beautiful Mountain Get Away

This house is comfortable elegance, set within a mountain golf community in the White Mountains of AZ. The weather was beautiful and the property is surrounded by forest area that was great for outdoor activities like biking and hiking, but it is also enjoyable to just sit on the back deck and drink wine with friends. The house is new and has every amenity imaginable. We went with another couple and there was plenty of room. The split floor plan is versatile for even larger families. We have family in the Phoenix area, so we are thinking about planning another trip to stay here and ski this winter if possible.

HUGE Disapointment

This property was very dirty. The furniture was filthy and broken. The pillows on the couch were stained one looked like it had soda poured over it. The kitchen cabinets and refrigerator were filled with the owners own food which made it difficult to distinguish where ours began and his ended. The kitchen cabinets also contained dirty dishes that had been put away dirty. The closets were full of boxes and the owners personal items so we had no place to put our clothes. We found dirty laundry underneath the beds and in the laundry room. The master bathroom had dried toothpaste squeezed into one of the drawers and the owner had left his personal prescription medicines and toiletries pushed into it. The master bed had the wrong size mattress on it and it was torn and stained. The sheets weren’t put on the bed properly and we had to remake it. The dishwasher was full of dishes that needed put away. Every window had lots of cobwebs and spiders everywhere. The garage was filthy with dog waste on the floor and cobwebs all over the boxes and quads that were in the garage. In the 10 plus years we have stayed in vrbo properties we have never stayed in any place like this. We almost packed up and went home but the owner already had our money. When we called to complain about the towels that were left out for us being frayed and had holes in them he just said look for some others. The back door knob was about to fall off and I had to find a screw driver and fix it. The yard was over grown with weeds. There are no words to properly describe how bad this place is. I feel it borders on outright fraud. The only nice thing was it is in a very nice development called Torreon.

Owner response:Much of what is written by this reviewer has an element of truth to it, but most of it is overstated or is simply inaccurate\\ In July 2010 my maid took a hiatus from her work I had to hire an unproven inexperienced maid who didn't understand my standards or where things should be stored resulting in a substandard experince for this gentlemen. I offered to return his cleaning fee and he accepted with the understanding that he would not write a negative review provided I remedied the issues going forward. I was very surprised to see such a negative review and the significant inaccuracies and overstatements in his review. I now have a superior cleaning lady who completes a quality checklist and walkthrough prior to payment from me. I've addressed any other non maid related issues. I suspect the crux of the issue is that this customer wanted to back out of a two week reservation 3 days prior to arrival and wanted his money back; I told him I could attempt to accomodate him at another time as well. (July is the peak rental period in Torreon, and I could have easily rented this period at least 3 times over for 20 percent more money). I suspect his sour grapes response is the result of his changing his mind. My refund policy is more generous than most and I always offer an opportunity to rebook at later date within 7 days of arrival. I made several attempts to satisfy him including the return on the cleaning fee, rescheduling his stay and offering to have the maid come over late at night to remedy his issues. Regrettably he still was disappointed. All of my customers before and after his stay have been delighted and consistently say the House is beautiful inside and out. I have several customers that come back annuallly, and I've never received a negative response I've put in place the necessary controls to ensure there's no repeat, even marginal, problems, by having a qualified back up maid and a checklist of items to be cleaned. I had one client who had some small issues upon arrival and these were remedied witin 2 hours by my maid. She since has provided a 5 star review.
