  My wife and I and four other couples stayed at Montserrat Breezes for our Spring Break and to celebrate St Patrick's on the "other emerald isle". The house served as a perfect base to explore Montserrat and attend the festivities each evening. Above the house is a trail, leading in one direction to some old plantation ruins and in the other direction, to the Runaway Ghaut, a historical site. Sitting on a high hill affords tremendous views and cooling breezes. Even though we were 10 adults, everyone had their privacy in this large and well appointed home. We have rented numerous houses all over the Caribbean, but Montserrat Breezes is the best we have experienced. The price is very good, especially for the size of the house, the service provided by the caretaker, and the midweek maid service. The owner, was also very helpful in our planning for this trip. Most notable on Montserrat is the friendliness of the locals. Everywhere we went we were welcomed and treated like friends. Driving on Montserrat can be a challenge with numerous wrong turns, but every time I did so, a local would approach us offering help. I have never experienced more friendly and accommodating people as the people of Montserrat. We drank from the Runaway Ghaut ensuring that we will have to return to Montserrat someday, but it is the beauty of the island and hospitality shown by the locals that will bring us back. Rent this house, it is perfect.

  What a gorgeous and elegant villa!! Located at the end of a small road, it was extremely private, but was not so far off the main road that it was difficult to get to or out of the way. In fact, there were good restaurants (The Attic, Gourmet Gardens and Olveston House), hiking trails and a grocery store nearby. The listing description is excellent, everything was spotless and ready for our arrival just as the owner promised, and he was always willing to answer our questions promptly before our arrival. The property caretaker checked in with us a couple of times to be sure we didn't have any problems, and it was fun to run into him in different places on the island through the week. He always had a smile for us and treated us like long lost friends. The pictures posted above are gorgeous, but the villa is even more beautiful than shown. Most importantly, all the furniture was extremely clean and comfortable, perfect for reading, playing games or even watching TV. There is a large living room/dining room which overlooks the ocean through an entire wall of glass doors. The kitchen also overlooks the ocean, and has very pretty dishes for the guest's use - not cheap dishes intended for rentals. There are 5 large bedrooms w/ fans, each with private bathroom (and lots of towels), and each with an unbelievable view. Two of them have private balconies, and one of those has a pass-through window into the kitchen! One of the downstairs rooms also has its own outer sitting area overlooking the pool and beyond that, the view. The pool is large and a gorgeous blue, and has plenty of rafts and lounge chairs. It was wonderful to lie there and look up at the house, the perfectly manicured grounds and the view. We stayed there during a period of bad weather and we were able to stay out on the verandah through all of the rainstorms. The house is positioned perfectly because not once did we get wet and the rain never blew inside. We loved watching the storm clouds come at us from the ocean - it was amazing! The power went out a couple of times, but candles were available. We were happy to have a washer and dryer - they worked well, although the dryer didn't seem to shut off - I don't recommend going out for the day with the dryer on. There are a ping pong table and grill in the garage. We also appreciated the little extra touches like fresh flowers in the rooms. ABSOLUTE RECOMMENDATION WITHOUT RESERVATION! We can't praise Montserrat Breezes enough!

  This was one of the most beautiful houses we have ever stayed in. A large group of us spent 10 days at Montserrat Breezes in February 2010, We have rented many houses on many islands and this one rates as one of the best ever. The villa was everything we expected and more. We ate every meal on the large veranda overlooking the Caribbean and slept at night in luxurious bedrooms. Everything we needed was at our fingertips, The house the grounds and the island were just beautiful as were the Montserrat people.We are already recommending this villa to others and can't wait to go back ourselves. When not lounging at the pool, we spent our vacation hiking, visiting differant beaches and touring the island. The volcano was a constant source of entertainment as we visited the observatory daily. The house manager also arrainged for us a boat ride that circumvented the island this was truely a highlight to be able to see the volcano from all sides. We can't wait to go back.
