Great apartment in excellent location. Five very enthusiastic stars.

This apartment is truly beautiful. Ingeniously decorated in a way to make all rooms feel connected and part of the same, already enormous, space. A concept that works marvels during the day, and even more at night. As advertised everything in the apartment was in perfect functioning order, and very clean. Further, there are flat screen television sets in the living room and in two of the bedrooms that we did not know about and were, in fact, a pleasant surprise. Lots of space, details, comfort, and nothing left to chance. As one would expect, the management was very professional and available throughout our stay. Location is ideally near the Fort, and just a few minutes walk to Ipanema. We originally thought we would go often to Ipanema, but instead we ended up discovering how this part of Copacabana (a.k.a. Arpoador) is rich and lively with a dozen or so new restaurants right on the water. All in all, we highly recommend this unit and Ezrio, the company that assisted us during our stay. The rate we paid was lower than other smaller units we looked at, and included several useful extras such a personal assistant, of all things. Five very enthusiastic stars. Robin.

With a job that allows me so many trips, so much bureaucracy from simple to complex matters , there was this lucky moment when I was introduced to this apartment as viable option for what I was looking for during my stay in Rio. The assistance since the beginning setting up fast and efficiently all the details, the major assistance of Maitê, the apartment manager, who became key person to make everything easier, more pleasing and to ensure we have done the best option. She is always ready to solve any problem and extremely professional and at the same time , a warm host. The apartment itself goes beyond what is introduced here; the space, the decoration, all the facilities..there isn't lack of anything. There is good taste in each element. The building and doormen..I've never met more happy, charismatic and helpful people like the building staff. The location..the best location in Rio for sure .The security;the safest area for sure.

absolutely perfect!

What a great apartment! Third time in Rio (first for a wedding) and definitely first time we found a rental like this one. Much (and I mean much) larger than the units we rented the other two times, and by far with the best decoration. The wall-size drawings in the living room are just hypnotic, especially the horizontal one that truly gives a sense of beauty and elegance. And, small world, we actually saw some of the artist's work in Paris just this past summer. We hosted a small pre-reception dinner-buffet at the apartment and it was just perfect. I cannot imagine a better set-up to have friends over: loungy, with a bar, and a private movie theater. Everybody loved it and ended up staying until sunrise, when we all walked across the street to the beach... wow do I need to say more? That was breathtaking, and my most beautiful morning in Rio ever. To top it all, the management found us a bartender who taught us all how to make strawberry caipivodkas, and sent a cleaning crew in the morning that got the apartment clean while we were still sleeping. Seriously impressive. We all agree this was a great apartment and the management absolutely impeccable. The whole experience exceeded our expectations and made a difference in our stay in Rio. Rent with confidence, you will be happy you did. Obrigado! James & Esther.

Three Amigos on our EMBA 2 day visit to Rio before heading to Sao Paulo for International trip.

This three bedroom unit is great and I absolutely would recommend it. The picture shows the master bedroom and is very nice! The decor is great throughout the unit --very well done and yes even the orange chair. This is great for a family probably not so great for a group of single guys or girls due to the security policies no guests allowed so check with management and understand what that means or you could lose your security deposit-- this was not a problem for us since all three of us are married. The area is perfect right between both Copacabana and Ipanema beaches I think you should explore both beaches to identify which beach you like better Ipanema was made famous from the song “The Girl from Ipanema," and it should be on the list for a sunset! Great pictures even if you are not with your wife as in my case. There is a market 1 block away a little bar restaurant right next door and is great for a night cap the strongest Caipirinha Cocktail I had but too many of these little candy drinks and yes a great big ressaca (hangover)! The kitchen is very clean and though we did not use it outside of snacks due to our short stay it looked like you could prepare a meal for a large family seating might be an issue there is 4 chairs at a table and 3 at the counter and another 4 at a short table kneeling style. Expect to pay ½ at time of reservation then the security and remainder of the rental fees at check in our situation was to pay in US currency and everything was on the up and up. Also a big hint if you ask for a car specify van or larger if you have a few bags you will notice all cars in Brazil are compacts and many have alternate fuels that take up all the space in the trunk. The ride is ½ hour from the international airport. Our reservationist was very easy to work with and friendly I received enough communications from her to keep me assured everything was in order and everything turned out fine. Our doorman was great and very fun! Our host who met us at the apartment was most gracious and she had a sense of humor since she had to come by the apartment at 5am to check us out and return our deposit so we could make our flight to Sao Paulo early Tuesday morning. I recommend if you do not speak Portuguese to bring a device that can connect to the internet like a web phone. Not the most wheelchair friendly has some transitions and access restrictions to bath and laundry plus an elevator that is the old scissor gate type and is pretty small.

Just a quick note to thank the management for helping us out organize four one-day trips in less than a week. Extremely efficient and available help every time we needed it. Immediate replies to our emails from the get-go. The actual apartment is remarkable in location, space, amenities, furnishing, and price. Ideal place for a large family. Top-of-the-line American kitchen for cooking, very large living room for the grown-ups, and a videogame console in one bedroom for the kids. The office in the back is a valuable plus. Fast Wi-Fi internet and cleanliness are always top on our list, and they get two thumbs up on these as well. This unit is a lucky find and should be on anyone's list visiting Rio opting for a vacation rental. A rare case of something being better in reality than in the pictures. Photos do not do justice to the size and openness of this home. Very safe street, many shops, markets, taxi hubs, and restaurants only a few yards from the beach. The restaurant/kiosk 'Posto 6' is a must try, perfect for relaxing at sunset and watching the fishermen. Doormen were always present and cheerful. No negatives that I can think of. Having rented apartments for a few years now I can easily say this unit is what all rentals should be. Dan O.

all I can say is wow! - this is an urban treasure

Guest: mandy (new york city)

All I can say is wow! This is an urban treasure. It goes without saying that renting apartments is so much better and cost effective than any hotel room, but this apartment really is something else. In fact, this is like two apartments in one. For one thing this space is just enormous, the living room is huge and it connects to the bar/kitchen and that is itself connected to a back area. The back area becomes its own apartment in the morning and at night, the energy there is unique and on a different level while having breakfast or really late at night just chilling and snacking. The whole apartment at night has this suffused lighting and music emanating from the ceilings and giant couches that make it into a perfect lounge. I am not saying I wished for rain, but this is the type of place that if it rains you are happy you have an excuse to hang out at home with your friends to watch videos on the big screen and play some music. We all loved the location, and we really saved a ton of money staying here, also because the kitchen is awesome and makes you want to cook. I am probably not that good at writing reviews but I just wanted to say something because this one apartment was just fantastic and I would like to make sure I always get to rent it! :) Mandy, NYC

Good, bad, ugly.

The location is good, near the Sofitel at the Ipanema end of Copacabana. About a short block and a half to the beach, and also close to Impanema beach. We had a wonderful time in Rio. My wife and two college age boys. Apt is big, three bedrooms plus den, breakfast room, nice kitchen. Third floor, elevator, big tree outside huge windows in living room and bedrooms you can open wide, like being outside. Quiet street, nice restaurants nearby, the place downstairs sets up a few tables and serves dinners outside. Air conditioner in 2 of 3 bedrooms worked fine. 24 hour Doorman. Rental agency staff friendly. Clean, quiet, safe. Comfortable beds. Good price. Everything good except, well, that round orange chair in the living room is just plain ugly. The furnishings are way heavy on the 60's and the laughing buddah. And enough already with the light dimmers. I would suggest dumping the worn clunky sofas, the worn orange chair, the floor pillows and uncomfortable foot-high dining room table. Patch the parquet. Buy some nice furniture, a real dinner table, real chairs, a couple love seats, a rug or two. Table lamps. Tables. Lose those hideous paintings in the living room. Think Shabby Chic. Pottery Barn. Zen and the 60's are so last week. Or stay just the way you are. After all, the 60's might come back, some people really like shushi, and we did have a great time in Rio.

Owner response:After being unpleasantly surprised by Mr. Greg H.'s offensive comments on the loft's style and Zen ambiance, we immediately decided to respond. Mr. Greg H. asks for more tables and lamps. We actually counted 19 table and floor lamps in the unit, plus 12 halogens in each bedroom's ceilings, for a total of 36 in the bedrooms alone. There is a large sushi table for 8 people, a bar for 3, and a tall dining room table for 4, with normal wooden chairs in the tea room. There is also a large desk, a coffee table in the master bedroom, and a total of 5 bed-side tables in the three bedrooms. How many more tables and lamps are we supposed to have in one apartment? There is nothing at all in the loft from the 60's, or in 60's style that we could find. We have no idea why Mr. Greg H. thinks the loft is decorated in 60's fashion. All cabinets and furnishings in the loft are custom designed and were built in 2007/08. In any case, all of the above is described in detail and depicted in over 100 pictures that we post on-line and also mail to prospect guests, including to Mr. Greg H. The dimmable lighting, the orange chair, the sushi table, the dining table, the Buddha, and everything else is in the photographs exactly as it is in the loft. The wall size French drawings in the living room are simply beautiful and they almost become marble sculptures in dim lighting. We understand that this design may not be everyone's ideal, but we wonder, if Mr. Greg H. did not like this design, the Zen ambiance, the dimmers, the lighting, the drawings, the sushi table, the Buddha, why did he rent this loft at all? We welcome constructive criticism, but we truly find Mr Greg H.'s comments to be undeserved, in very poor taste, and simply offensive to the owners, their preferences, and their hospitality. Over the years, this loft has welcomed several high-profile guests including film personalities and sports celebrities. They all have consistently praised the comfort and elegance of its décor and the peaceful, sophisticated Zen ambiance. A magazine described this loft as "Eastern-inspired deco (right down to the funky sushi table) with elegant touches such as a candle wall, spa bath, stainless steel kitchen and bar appliances." On the other hand, mr. Greg H. seems to think that the height of contemporary design can be found at 'Pottery Barn.' At arrival, he also thought Brazil's main language to be Spanish. So, for now, we'll humbly keep the loft as it is.

This was our first time in Rio de Janeiro, and when we started planning our trip we researched much both Copacabana and Ipanema. We originally wanted to stay in Ipanema but then we became more and more interested in Copacabana when we read how much it has changed. When we realized how close two beaches are to each other we started looking for accommodations that would allow us to enjoy both neighborhoods, and the staff of Ezrio.com highly recommended this particular vacation rental. In fact, this apartment was ideal for us since it is located at the meeting point between Copacabana and Ipanema (they call it Arpoador). The location was indeed perfect, and the apartment truly wonderful. The pictures they publish of this condo are nice but it is even nicer in reality. We were six adults plus one child, and this apartment is large enough to feel like we rented an entire bed-and-breakfast just for our family, with so much space, comfort, and privacy. Because we were so happy with everything, now in return we highly recommend both this apartment and the company Ezrio.com - they were truly welcoming, available at all times and we were in Rio during a major black-out and when it happened we immediately received a phone call to see if we were OK and to tell us what to do, and what not to do. We felt taken care of, safe, of and in the care of family. Many thanks again for a wonderful time and we are all looking forward to going back again one day soon. Jillian and Ross.

Nice large apartment in Copacabana

Date of Stay: 09/08/10 Review Submitted: 10/01/10

This apartment is very large. Three nice big bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a huge living room, great kitchen. Just a block and a half from the beach. The doorman was always friendly and helpful. Wonderful amenities except the living room sofas are a little used but still functional. Great kitchen with lots of dishes. There is a corner market just down the street - Zona Sul they have wonderful fresh bread in the morning. Internet did not work very well. They did change the router but I still had problems getting my Iphone to connect and never managed to have the apartment laptop connect. The apartment was fairly well maintained. I would definitely stay here again. Good location at the end of Copacabana beach posto 6 and walking distance to Ipanema beach. The rental people were very good about answering emails. We ordered Pizza from the restaurant at the corner and it was good. Walking distance to the open market on the beach that runs from 6pm to midnite. Excellent location in a safe neighborhood. The apartment was even better than I had expected and much larger than a typical city apartment.

this exquisite loft stands in class of its own, excellent choice in every way.

It is no surprise that this apartment was featured in a travel magazine. I've stayed at several luxury residences, but nothing quite like this one. Classy and particularly well thought out, this exquisite loft stands in class of its own. All the elements in the apartment come together to create a unique atmosphere throughout the space: open and energizing during the day, stylish and sophisticated after dark. The architect gracefully incorporated everything anyone could ever need in a home and achieved pure, luscious comfort. A superb living room, spacious bedrooms, generous bathrooms, a kitchen a chef would love, a bar area, a laundry, an office, and even a morning room with a romantic Tuscan feel to it. This area is a surprisingly important and intimate part of the ambiance. Polished but not recherché, earthy hues and ingenious illumination blend to create a cozy sensation of outdoor space. Coffee and cereals here become a real treat, and my best way to start a day. The building is elegant, safe, and the doormen are present 24 hours and always welcoming. The apartment is only a few yards from the beach at Arpoador Posto 6, the most desirable part of Copacabana. It is surrounded by prime restaurants, banks, shops, food markets and taxis. Ipanema beach Posto 8 is only a short walk away at the other end of the street, making it ideal for capricious me since I equally enjoy Copacabana as wells as Ipanema. I was invited to write a review and I am pleased to do so. I am a notoriously demanding guest, and twice I have changed my travel dates around the availability of this particular loft, such is the value this accommodation provides toward a splendid vacation. Furthermore, I have consistently received exceptional service by the management. Great in the pictures, even better in real life. Excellent choice in every way.

Owner response:oh wow! thank you so much for this, it is much appreciated... and what a great choice of words... mind if we quote you? :) looking forward to hosting you again.

This is one of those apartments that you really wish was yours! What can I say? It is like in the pictures or even bigger when you are actually in it. There were 8 of us and it never felt crowded, that is how big it is. The couch is a glue-trap once you sit on it you never want to get up! The shower is another place you could spend the whole day in. The kitchen is outfitted with everything you can imagine and perfect to prepare a brunch together. Stereos and music everywhere so you are automatically in vacation mood and the laughing Buddha makes you happy just looking at it! Everything worked and everyone was so nice to us. I think that this is the best apartment I've ever rented anywhere and the rate they gave us felt like a gift. Groups of friends will love to hang out in it for sure, and families can be very comfortable with everything they need or more. Yes, I really recommend this apartment to anyone going to Rio.

THIS LOFT WAS ALSO FEATURED IN A TOP TRAVEL GUIDE AS ONE OF THE ABSOLUTE BEST DEALS IN RIO DE JANEIRO - PLEASE EMAIL US TO GET THE LINK AND MORE DETAILS - === These are some tetimonials from past guests === The loft made the trip...my friend and I were discussing how this was the best decision we made. I had to put it in the photos since it was part of what made our trip so amazing. Let me know when it comes up, keep me in the loop. Hopefully you wouldn't have moved down to Brazil the next time we come down since we want to exclusively stay at that apartment! Lol! Brazil has EVERYTHING...People, Food, Beautiful Vistas, Nightlife...anything anyone wants! Changed our lives, thanks for making that happen! Later, C*** N*** === This loft...It is an absolute beauty in the heart of it all. I can honestly say that this is a million times better than any of the hotels in Rio. It's was the perfect place for me and I***. We couldn't have had a better place to stay at if I would have dreamt it up. You were absolutely right about the apartment coming alive at night, our freinds loved that place. Thank you so much for helping us out in the city and pointing us in the right direction. See you sooner than you might think. J**** === Just like you said as you walk into the front room you are immediately overwhelmed by the space and decor. Along the far wall the first sign of what your trip will become depicts one of two wall sized paintings that says "I am at peace and tranquil." This is only the beginning as you make your way around the rest of the apartment you are welcomed to very tastefully designed treats for the eye in each of the remaining rooms. After paying a token of tribute at the Buddha placed strategically en route to the large master and adjoining bedroom....you will pick one of these areas where you will rest peacefully as the worries of the world melt away. The place is a home away from home with all the toys and gadgets to keep you entertained on a rainy day or entertain after a night on the town. Lounge Six is exquisite and will be a treat for anyone who is looking for class and elegance to accompany them during their stay. J*** P**** === I so wish I was there right now but hopefully sometime soon. Thank you so much again for everything, the loft really is a king's palace what an apartment! and you guys were great to help us out with everything you are so lucky to be in rio right now! Keep in touch! M*** and I***
