Plan ahead! Nothing books as often as this home, and for good reason: Nothing compares! So hold dates further than 90 days in advance with only a $500 deposit even into 2011 (except Christmas and New Year weeks must be paid in full).
The "Tahoe Castle" features a large private indoor heated pool complete with waterfall and fireplace. Colored lighting under the waterfall, fiber optic lighting that surrounding the pool, and full stereo sound set a relaxing mood in the evenings. A separate steam room, separate sauna room and log bar are also in the pool area. The outdoor spa on the rear deck nestled in the pine trees offers complete privacy and a great view of the stars.
Our Hekpa Mountain Lodge has been one of the most often rented vacation homes in South Lake Tahoe since it was built in 2000. Guests from around the world have enjoyed the unique and wondrous amenities here that compliment the majestic views and mountain air in the Lake Tahoe area. Designed as a vacation retreat, the 3500 square foot home features a fully equipped gourmet kitchen, which opens into a magnificent logged great room with large rock fireplace. The adjoining balcony with barbecue has a lovely view for dining outside in seasonable weather. The master suit has a private bathroom with jacuzzi tub. Two other bedrooms plus a large loft sleeping area with two more beds and a pullout sofa provide sleeping for up to twelve.
The loft features a pool table and foosball table and also qualifies officially as a 4th bedroom per vacation permitting agency.
Located just 5 miles from the Lake and about the same to Heavenly Ski resort or the Casinos, yet far enough away on a quite cul-de-sac with empty wooded lots on either side. The beautiful forested surroundings and unsurpassed list of amenities makes this home the ultimate retreat that truly defines “get-away”! Reno Airport is just 59 miles away.
Note exceptions to minimum stay requirements of 3 nights in Sept/Oct, and April/May or 5 nights in Jun-Aug, and Nov-March are allowed only if you see a less amount of dates between two reservations or possibly if unreserved dates within less than 7 days...just ask me for more details.

This beautiful mountain lodge home in South Lake Tahoe was a dream get-away. Nestled among the tall pines, it provided a secluded, quiet retreat to kick back and relax. The home’s three bedrooms plus a large loft that held twin beds and a pullout couch, gave us plenty of room to spread out. The kids will especially love the home wide stereo system; we enjoyed tunes throughout the entire house!
The pool area- complete with a waterfall illuminated by multi-colored lights, a patio aglow with fiber optic patio lights and an inviting fireplace- was the perfect place to unwind each evening. We took advantage of the pool every day of our stay, followed by a dip in the hot tub. For pure relaxation, we slipped into the steam bath and sauna. Now that’s living! Parents with little kids need not worry. There’s a security alarm and locks on all the doors leading to the pool, so you’ll be alerted if anyone wanders into the pool area.
The owners thought of everything a family could ever want while on vacation. Along with the abundance of utensils, dishes and appliances for cooking up family recipes, there’s even a crock pot. It’s perfect for planning meals ahead and coming home to a warm dinner after a long day of sightseeing. If you want to treat the family to dinner out, there are many restaurants conveniently located within 3 to 5 miles of the home. For family-friendly dining with a beautiful lake view, we discovered “The Beacon Bar & Grill” on Jameson Beach Rd. If you go, try the calamari appetizer. It’s the best we’ve ever tasted!
Lake Tahoe is a wonderful place to visit any time of year. Summer/fall activities include boating, water skiing, jet skiing, fishing, swimming, kayaking, hiking and horseback riding. Winter offers non-stop snowboarding, skiing and snowmobiling. If you’re looking for a great family vacation, there’s something for everyone in South Lake Tahoe.

Why the Owner Chose Pioneer Trail
I've been around the world but have always loved Lake Tahoe. While looking for a little cabin as a second home I found this one and then all the others were far too painful to look at so...I bought it, even with a couple reservations still yet on the calendar. Things seemed to go very well, guests very happy and so I stayed with it. Years have passed and hundreds of people have enjoyed this home and not once have I had an unhappy guest.
The Unique Benefits at this House
I believe vacation time is a time to spoil yourselves just a little. So what more can a house have? Indoor heated pool, jacuzzi, spa, steam room, sauna room, and a magnificent huge room for entertaining your family and guests. Since I've taken over management by myself and not an agency I've been able to price the home similar to many of similar size, but none compare! So think of these amenities as a bonus. Which I'm sure you deserve!
