Stylish Sausalito Love Nest - Bay Views & Lux Hotel Amenities

Year Purchased: 2008

Why the Owner Chose Sausalito

This is the most romantic story of my life! In 1994, I met my husband at the front door of this apartment on what turned out to be a blind date. It was love at first sight! In 1998, I moved with my husband to Amsterdam, where we currently have our main residence. I was sad to leave my beautiful enchanted home on the hill. The area is fragant and leafy with water views all around. We had lived a very full and rich life here and I traveled over the Golden Gate Bridge every day to attend the San Francisco Art Institute.

In 2008, I took my 3 year old son to have a look at "where Mama & Papa" used to live and I noticed a "For Sale" sign. My husband bought the apartment for me as a token of his love.

We hope you enjoy staying in our very special "love nest" which has been lovingly renovated and decorated. Everything in the apartment is brand new, but chock full of old & fond memories.

The Unique Benefits at this Condominium

The apartment is situated in an ideal area between the city of San Francisco and the county of Marin where there is much nature and wildlife. It is fantastic to wake up and ask, "do we want a city day or a country day" and make your plans accordingly. Take a ride to the Wine Country, the Coastal regions with spectacular beaches or have a sophisticated museum and sight-seeing tour in "the city" as the locals call it.

The Bay Area is famous for its food & wine. You will never be disappointed with whatever cuisine you choose with influences from the Pacific Rim, Mexico, France, Italy and of course, "California Cuisine" rich with fish, fruits & vegetables usually organic. Shop at "Whole Foods" for a wonderful California experience, located just 10 mins from the apartment in the relaxed town of Mill Valley surrounded by Redwood trees.

For days when you just want to stay local, everything is within walking distance. Enjoy Caledonia street where the locals shop, eat and relax at cafe's. There is a movie theatre, a park for kids, a yoga studio, Sushi Ran Japanese Restaurant, the new Cafe Cibo, a health food store and an art gallery.

Not to be missed is "Angelino's" Italian Restaurant on the waterfront with breathtaking views of the city. Browse the galleries after dinner as you stroll home. Perhaps rent a boat or take the ferry and go out on the bay? Remember to dress warmly mornings/evenings and enjoy brilliant hot sun during the day.

For a quiet day in, I would recommend a walk on the hill followed by breakfast at Cafe Cibo, buy some groceries and then home for a nice relaxing bath. BBQ outside in the garden or cook in our fully equipped gourmet kitchen. In the evening enjoy 100's of free movies or play video games on the Sony HDTV by the warmth of the fire.

Whatever you do, you are guaranteed to enjoy this delightful area with so much to offer for every person's taste. We wish you much Joy & Happiness during your holiday.

    • Good morning Teresa, Just wanted to send you a note to let you know what a fabulous time we had visiting family in Sausalito. Your home was so comfortable and we felt as though we were at home. We noticed the beautiful flower arrangement you had placed on the table and also wanted to thank you for the goodies. We also took our grandchildren to the cafe to have some of their pastries. We hope to check back with you next year when we come to visit. We may visit again in March and in September. We will definitely check with your rental home to see if it is available. Thank you for all of your efforts, Best regards, Fran

    • Dear Teresa. Thank you for your inquiry! We certainly did enjoy our stay in your lovely Sausalito home, in fact, this was our second visit there. The condo is beautifully appointed and quite comfortable. The view of the bay is ever changing and we enjoy the quietness of the neighborhood. We gladly would recommend your home to friends and family travelling in the area because we know that they would enjoy it as much as we did! Thanks again for sharing your Sausalito “love nest” with us once again. Greetings from Scottsdale, Arizona. Sandy & Jack p.s. One thing that I neglected to comment on is how immaculate your unit is kept! When you make rental accommodations online you wonder whether or not the unit will be as pictured…yours is, and then some!

    • Dear Teresa, Back in Dordrecht again, we still remember the beautifull time, which we spent in your house on Harrison Avenue. The apartment was very comfortable, but also inspiring to make the best of our holiday. To see the sunrise, sitting on the settee with morning coffee, walking down the stairs to the ferry dock and boarding for a mini-cruise to SF, wander through the Muir Woods or along the seashore at Stinson Beach, re-exploring Mill Valley. We really had a holiday to remind for long. All of us four finished the Bay to Breakers, a run with a carnivalesc athmosphere, climbing the Hayes street hill in record time. Also Big Sur (we stayed at the Deetjen's Inn) was a special experience. Don't be surprised if we will return for a longer time. greetings, Wilco and Anneke (and also our daughters Linda and Elian)

    • Teresa, Just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay at Harrison House this past August. After our usual busy days, your home was the perfect retreat. The baths were lovely and spotless, while the kitchen was terrific and very functional. All in all, it took us no time to call Harrison House our home - we wouldn't have any problem in highly recommending it to our closest friends. Thanks, cheers and good luck. • Dear T: We have travelled a long way and we are glad that we have chosen the Harrison House as our abode for 2 weeks. The house was clean and provided for all our needs. As I wake up in the morning, I enjoyed watching sailboats passing by. My 2 kids had so much fun that they were pleading for an extended stay.My wife likewise enjoyed the complete facilities in the kitchen which encouraged her to cook for us (she never had the chance to do it back home). All told, we enjoyed our stay in the Harrison house and learn to love Sausalito.

    • We stayed here for 3 nights in April 2009. We booked at very short notice & were accommodated with a minimum of fuss. Thanks to Gail for looking after us. The apartment is 10 out of 10 for cleanliness, modern decor & quality fittings & appliances. It is in a beautiful location with views over the bay to SF. Sausalito is just the best spot to stay for your SF holiday, our only regret is that we could not stay longer.

    • Dear Teresa, We are back from our vacation in Sausalito, and what a good time we had …. The food, wine and not least your apartment made it great. We loved the apartment which is decorated with style and a cozy atmosphere that made you enjoy life while there. Our kids loved the PS3 and some of the games had to be bought back home as well. So if we decide to come back next year we know where to stay, I would wish that apartment were mine … Med venlig hilsen / Best regards, J.M.
