Out & About
*Sausalito is an exclusive neighborhood and an ideal location between the city of San Francisco and nearby nature destinations such as the Napa Wine Country, Calistoga Spas, Stinson Beach, Mount Tamalpais or Muir Woods Redwood Forest.
Walk to downtown Sausalito (5 mins) and enjoy local cafes, restaurants, boutiques, spas and art galleries. Take the Ferry to San Francisco or drive to 'the city' over the Golden Gate Bridge (5-10 mins). (You may consider a cycle ride or a walk over the bridge.)
Local hiking and beaches are also conveniently located in the Marin Headlands right behind the property which is bordered by National Park. Enjoy the Bay Area Discovery Museum for children at Fort Baker at the foot of the Golden Gate Bridge . . . both just a short drive away.
For longer adventures, take Highway 1 for a breathtaking drive as far south as Carmel/Monterey, Santa Cruz, Big Sur or north to Pt. Reyes National Seashore and Mendocino.
**Every year in September enjoy the renowned Sausalito Art Festival! September-October is Indian Summer and is the warmest time of the year marked by beautiful weather, no fog and golden summer days.

I recently spent just over a week at Harrison House. When I walked in the door, a big smile appeared on my face. A warm, inviting space with a beautiful view of the Bay. Great for letting your mind wander. The location is simply ideal for quick forays into San Francisco when needed...but everything you need is right at your doorsteps. I have not worries about highly recommending HH for your stay in the SF area! And thank Sam for checking in and making sure everything was ship shape.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.
Owner response: Dear Yannick, We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay! Please come back soon, the door is always open for you. Teresa

Beautiful condo, very nice furnishings, great views. Well maintained. Local manager Sam was very helpful with regard to the few minor items that needed attention. Lots of useful info in the condo which was v helpful. Best local restaurants that we visited were Scoma's (seafood, walking distance) and Feng Nian (Chinese, a short drive). Best local trips: Marin Headlands (don't leave it too late if you want to see the lighthouse) and Muir Woods. Best San Francisco stuff: Alcatraz and the Cable Car Barn The ferries to San Francisco leave from the bottom of the hill and are a great way to the city. Don't forget to get FastTrac in your rental car to get across the Golden Gate if you drive. We would strongly recommed this place.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you Thomas! I am so happy that you enjoyed your stay. You are welcome to return anytime you like! T

I thoroughly enjoyed everything about the property and intend to vacation there again. Property was well maintained, the property manager and owner were both extremely helpful with eating recommendations, answering any questions we had, and were available if we needed them. I would recommend this property, but want to keep it a secret among family/friends.................Just kidding!!!!!!!!!!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Our second time of staying here and we love it! Fantastic service from the owner via email to arrange the payments and a welcome hamper from local suppliers was waiting for us when we arrived from our stay in Yosemite. Accommodation and facilities exactly as advertised with luxurious furnishing, linen and towels.Comfortable and convenient for walking to Sausalito. Very relaxing location with charming garden to soak up the sun which we had in abundance. We will be back. Thanks to all of you for a great place to stay and to Sausalito folks for being so friendly amd helpfulRecommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, tourists without a car.

The description was accurate. The location was perfect--just a short ride over the bridge to a beautiful town where you have short rides to many areas as well as peace and quiet! The welcome basket was wonderful start the stay, particularly after a long flight. Both Sam and Teresa were professional and available. We have a slight issue with smelling cigarette smoke one morning and Sam promptly addressed the situation, as well as buying us breakfast for the inconvenience. The condo was clean and had everthing you need for your stay. The only thing to note is that the beds were a little too soft for us and our backs! Thanks again Teresa and Sam!Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thank you for your comments and we are happy you enjoyed your stay. We will look into the situation! Please come again anytime!

We felt so at home and couldn't imagine staying any place else when we return. The welcome basket was filled with delicious goody's and we enjoyed it all. The flowers were beautiful as well. Owner info
Year Purchased: 2008
About the owner: I am a Photographer/Writer, Dance Teacher and specialize in Alternative & Holistic Health. Currently living in Amsterdam and Sausalito with my husband and son. We are a happy couple who enjoy music, travel, cuisine, art, design, literature and new media. The best of times are when we are enjoying life with family & friends. I am honored to share a very important part of my life with my guests. Teresa Hulst aka California Girl (CG)
Why the Owner Chose Sausalito:
In 1994, I met my husband at the front door of this apartment on what turned out to be a blind date. It was love at first sight! In 1998, I moved with my husband to Amsterdam, where we currently have our main residence. I was sad to leave my beautiful enchanted home on the hill. The area is fragrant and leafy with water views all around. We had lived a very full and rich life here and I traveled over the Golden Gate Bridge every day to attend the San Francisco Art Institute.
In 2008, I took my 3 year old son to have a look at 'where Mama & Papa' used to live and I noticed a 'For Sale' sign. My husband bought the apartment for me as a token of his love.
We hope you enjoy staying in our very special 'love nest' which has been lovingly renovated and decorated. Everything in the apartment is brand new, but chock full of old & fond memories.
Teresa Hulst
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
The apartment is situated in an ideal area between the city of San Francisco and the county of Marin where there is much nature and wildlife. It is fantastic to wake up and ask, 'do we want a city day or a country day' and make your plans accordingly. Take a ride to the Wine Country, the Coastal regions with spectacular beaches or have a sophisticated museum and sight-seeing tour in 'the city' as the locals call it.
The Bay Area is famous for its food & wine. You will never be disappointed with whatever cuisine you choose with influences from the Pacific Rim, Mexico, France, Italy and of course, 'California Cuisine' rich with fish, fruits & vegetables usually organic. Shop at 'Whole Foods' for a wonderful California experience, located just 10 mins from the apartment in the relaxed town of Mill Valley surrounded by Redwood trees.
For days when you just want to stay local, everything is within walking distance. Enjoy Caledonia street where the locals shop, eat and relax at cafe's. There is a movie theatre, a park for kids, a yoga studio, Sushi Ran Japanese Restaurant, the new Cafe Cibo, a health food store and an art gallery.
Not to be missed is 'Angelino's' Italian Restaurant on the waterfront with breathtaking views of the city. Browse the galleries after dinner as you stroll home. Perhaps rent a boat or take the ferry and go out on the bay? Remember to dress warmly mornings/evenings and enjoy brilliant hot sun during the day.
For a quiet day in, I would recommend a walk on the hill followed by breakfast at Cafe Cibo, buy some groceries and then home for a nice relaxing bath. BBQ outside in the garden or cook in our fully equipped gourmet kitchen. In the evening enjoy 100's of free movies or play video games on the Sony HDTV by the warmth of the fire.
Whatever you do, you are guaranteed to enjoy this delightful area with so much to offer for every person's taste. We wish you much Joy & Happiness during your holiday.
Teresa Hulst
