Why the Owner Chose Sausalito
In 1994, I met my husband at the front door of this apartment on what turned out to be a blind date. It was love at first sight! In 1998, I moved with my husband to Amsterdam, where we currently have our main residence. I was sad to leave my beautiful enchanted home on the hill. The area is fragrant and leafy with water views all around. We had lived a very full and rich life here and I traveled over the Golden Gate Bridge every day to attend the San Francisco Art Institute.
In 2008, I took my 3 year old son to have a look at "where Mama & Papa" used to live and I noticed a "For Sale" sign. My husband bought the apartment for me as a token of his love.
We hope you enjoy staying in our very special "love nest" which has been lovingly renovated and decorated. Everything in the apartment is brand new, but chock full of old & fond memories.

The Unique Benefits at this Condo
The apartment is situated in an ideal area between the city of San Francisco and the county of Marin where there is much nature and wildlife. It is fantastic to wake up and ask, "do we want a city day or a country day" and make your plans accordingly. Take a ride to the Wine Country, the Coastal regions with spectacular beaches or have a sophisticated museum and sight-seeing tour in "the city" as the locals call it.
The Bay Area is famous for its food & wine. You will never be disappointed with whatever cuisine you choose with influences from the Pacific Rim, Mexico, France, Italy and of course, "California Cuisine" rich with fish, fruits & vegetables usually organic. Shop at "Whole Foods" for a wonderful California experience, located just 10 mins from the apartment in the relaxed town of Mill Valley surrounded by Redwood trees.
For days when you just want to stay local, everything is within walking distance. Enjoy Caledonia street where the locals shop, eat and relax at cafe's. There is a movie theatre, a park for kids, a yoga studio, Sushi Ran Japanese Restaurant, the new Cafe Cibo, a health food store and an art gallery.
Not to be missed is "Angelino's" Italian Restaurant on the waterfront with breathtaking views of the city. Browse the galleries after dinner as you stroll home. Perhaps rent a boat or take the ferry and go out on the bay? Remember to dress warmly mornings/evenings and enjoy brilliant hot sun during the day.
For a quiet day in, I would recommend a walk on the hill followed by breakfast at Cafe Cibo, buy some groceries and then home for a nice relaxing bath. BBQ outside in the garden or cook in our fully equipped gourmet kitchen. In the evening enjoy 100's of free movies or play video games on the Sony HDTV by the warmth of the fire.
Whatever you do, you are guaranteed to enjoy this delightful area with so much to offer for every person's taste. We wish you much Joy & Happiness during your holiday.

We felt so at home and couldn't imagine staying any place else when we return. The welcome basket was filled with delicious goody's and we enjoyed it all. The flowers were beautiful as well. We had a fab week at Harrison House! What with the wonderful views of Alcatraz and San Fran from the bay window, the facilities and cleanliness of the apartment. Not forgetting the delightfully comfortable beds!! Thank you to Sam, for the lovely bottle of wine, cheese and bread that awaited us on our arrival. Just what we needed after a long day travelling. Harrison House is ideally situated to Sausalito town centre, and the Golden Gate Bridge is not too far away ( a little bit of a hike). We didn't have a car but there are a few little market stores in Sausalito (although longer that the 5-10 mins walk stated in the welcome pack), and the steps in the lane are quite steep, but we knew this beforehand. But there are always plenty of taxis in Sausalito town! Also, make sure you get a 'clipper' ticket if you plan to use the Ferry/public transport over to San Fran. We didn't know this but you will save money if you do (a few helpful tips like this would be beneficial to future travellers as not everyone will have use of a private vehicle and so will be relying on public transport). Make sure you book a table at Poggio's for lunch/dinner as it gets really busy, and for a lively drink, be sure to stop off at 'the bar with no name'. They have an open mic every Tuesday night so bring your guitar! Thank you to Teresa and Sam. We will definately recommend Harrison House to our friends and would love to come back one day.

Dear Teresa, Happy Holidays to you and your family. I hope you heard from us through Sam that we had a perfect time at Harrison House. There were many things that were so great about your home. It is so attractive and inviting. The location is great and we got around quite well. I had been worried about the parking, yet it was easy. It was a very cold week in Marin, yet we were warm and cozy with the heat and the fireplace. We enjoyed the TV, but couldn't get the radio or DVD going for some reason. Too many button options, I suppose. We had dinner at Angelino's one night...delicious. I hope we have the opportunity to visit again and will let you know. In the meantime, thanks so much for everything and we wish you all the very best for a wonderful new year, 2011. Mary and Dick

From the goodie basket and the bottle of wine upon arrival to the bath salts and and comfortable spa robes, the attention to detail was very impressive. The state of the art kitchen and welcoming fireplace were very much appreciated as well. We will definitely be back!
