We stayed for over a week at this wonderfully equipped house. The service by Lupe and Teresa is unmatched! Two days into our stay, the key broke in the lock. We were okay with just having one key, however, Lupe quickly made a key for us and got us back with a full two keys. Second, we had a little trouble with the sound with the upstairs neighbors, again, Lupe sprung into action! Finally, we ran out of sugar, and Lupe brought us some right away. When we arrived to the house, a nice care package was waiting for us. Delicious muffins and wonderfully sinful coconut maroons. YUM! This type of service was not what we expected. This house goes above and beyond. As for the facility itself, the huge tub our daughter (4 1/2) just loved. She was also totally in love with the soap (EO) which we promptly bought when we returned to Michigan. The kitchen is completely stocked with every spice we needed to cook a wonderfully vegan grateful dinner. The beds were comfortable and cozy. The house is beautifully appointed with many wonderful books, games and even some legos (which we used to build the Golden Gate bridge over and over again). We enjoyed taking the ferry to San Francisco, and were able to walk down about 125 steps which landed us right near the ferry. It was an excellent way to begin the day, a slow walk down (the walk up was challenging, but we made a good game of counting the steps). We had a complete blast at this house and in this location and we will return!

Recommended for: Tourists without a car, girls getaway, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

Owner response: Thank you for letting us know about your experience. I am happy that you were pleased. Lupe has indeed gone out of her way as we do not normally stock food for our guests, but we do like to keep some things on hand to make it easier to cook, like oil, salt & pepper. Great to have been able to be of service to you and your family. Please come back again soon! Greetings, T

This condo is exactly as described in the listing (better, in fact) and the owner handles the rental process in a totally professional manner. No wonder it's always booked! Payment, arrival, departure were all easily managed. The amenities are great (everything works), the place was spotless and fresh, and the decor is lovely. The view is mesmerizing--we got up at dawn everyday to enjoy it, something we never do at home! I can't imagine staying anywhere else in Sausalito after experiencing this condo. If you are quite fit, the stairway down to town (and back up!) is do-able, otherwise, it's a challenge. We choose to drive most of the time (we are age 60+), and parking was never a problem. Loved Fish restaurant down by the marina on Harbor Rd., shopped at Mollie Stone's, visited lovely Mill Valley (go to El Paseo for steaks), and loved the sand dabs at charming Scoma restaurant. Took the ferry to SF on Saturday morning for the Ferry Building farmer's market--jam-packed, but fun. Whatever you do, don't miss a trip to the Marin Headlands Park. It's only a 12 minute drive from the condo, and take a picnic along. Walk the path to Point Bonita (even if the lighthouse is closed) for the most unforgettable view of SF. Just amazing!

We stayed here on Labor Day weekend. Loved it! Perfectly equipped, comfortable, great for two couples. Fluffy new towels, comfortable beds, stylish decor, pretty view through the trees to the bay. If you don't mind the outdoor staircases, you can walk to all the best places in Sausalito. If you do need to drive, that's easy too. We cooked breakfast in the modern, pretty kitchen and had snacks and wine in the evening before going out to dinner. The owner and manager were friendly and helpful, and they maintain the most thorough, helpful visitor's guidebook we have ever seen. We could not park our car on the steep driveway (not enough clearance under the car) but we easily found street parking right in view, and the owner provides a parking pass. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it highly.

Our family of 4 stayed for a long weekend in Harrison House and could not have been happier. Even as excited as we were before we arrived (based on the pictures and other reviews), the apartment exceeded all of our expectations. It was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, so centrally located, complete with a fabulous view of the bay, and stocked with everything you could need (soaps, dish and laundry detergents, air fresheners, coffee beans from a local shop, etc). And the luxurious quality of everything there could not be beat, from the comfy beds to the ultra loud pillows (which I've since ordered for home!) to the towels and linens and the n'espresso maker (also ordered for home!). We really didn't want to leave. Thank you so much to both Teresa and Sam. We hope we can visit again in the future. Thank you!

Owner response: Fabulous! I am so thrilled that everything worked out considering;) I appreciate your enthusiasm. The Nespresso maker is a dream. I love it and those cloud pillows are heavenly. Thanks to the W-Hotel for their fine bedding! Please come back anytime!! Greetings from Holland, T.

We loved this condo! 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, we brought our 2 young boys, who shared the queen bed in the 2nd bedroom. The condo is well-decorated, well-appointed, and very comfortable. We felt totally at home. The location is great, easy, quick walk to town, nice view. We will likely stay here again!

We loved this condo! We stayed with our two children, who shared the queen bed in the 2nd bedroom. The condo is well-appointed, comfortable, in a great location, just a quick walk to town, and has a beautiful view. The beds were SO comfortable, we did a lot of napping! It was wonderful to have a full kitchen, great coffee makers, coffee and tea in the cupboard, a very nice welcome basket too! I would recommend Harrison House to anyone, and wouldn't be surprised if we stay there again some time.

Recommended for: Tourists without a car, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.

Owner response: Dearest Nicole, Thank you so much for your kind words. I am so happy we could make it all work out for you. Please come back soon! Greetings from Harrison House. T

We had a wonderful time staying in this beautiful apartment. The owner is very organized and the property manger, Sam, is extremely helpful and easy to reach. Be sure to read the red hand book located on the kitchen counter because all the information you need for a great stay is there. The basket of goodies was incredible. Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness. The outdoor patio is a welcome oasis of peace. We even saw a deer on the street directly behind the house. The walk to the downtown area is very easy. My 14 year old daughter loved the place and did not want to leave. The kitchen is well appointed. I would definitely stay here again. We enjoyed the free concert on Friday night down by the water. The music was great and the atmosphere was that of a wonderful small town community. My family would definitely like to come back for a longer stay.

                      Owner info

                      Year Purchased: 2008

About the owner: We are a happy couple who enjoy music, travel, cuisine, art, design, literature and new media. The best of times are when we are enjoying life with family & friends. We are honored to share a very important part of our lives with our guests.

                      Why the Owner Chose Sausalito:
In 1994, I met my husband at the front door of this apartment on what turned out to be a blind date. It was love at first sight! In 1998, I moved with my husband to Amsterdam, where we currently have our main residence. I was sad to leave my beautiful enchanted home on the hill. The area is fragrant and leafy with water views all around. We had lived a very full and rich life here and I traveled over the Golden Gate Bridge every day to attend the San Francisco Art Institute. In 2008, I took my 3 year old son to have a look at 'where Mama & Papa' used to live and I noticed a 'For Sale' sign. My husband bought the apartment for me as a token of his love. We hope you enjoy staying in our very special 'love nest' which has been lovingly renovated and decorated. Everything in the apartment is brand new, but chock full of old & fond memories. I love it here and I hope you will too! Teresa Hulst

The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
The apartment is situated in an ideal area between the city of San Francisco and the county of Marin where there is much nature and wildlife. It is fantastic to wake up and ask, 'do we want a city day or a country day' and make your plans accordingly. Take a ride to the Wine Country, the Coastal regions with spectacular beaches or have a sophisticated museum and sight-seeing tour in 'the city' as the locals call it. The Bay Area is famous for its food & wine. You will never be disappointed with whatever cuisine you choose with influences from the Pacific Rim, Mexico, France, Italy and of course, 'California Cuisine' rich with fish, fruits & vegetables usually organic. Shop at 'Whole Foods' for a wonderful California experience, located just 10 mins from the apartment in the relaxed town of Mill Valley surrounded by Redwood trees. For days when you just want to stay local, everything is within walking distance. Enjoy Caledonia street where the locals shop, eat and relax at cafe's. There is a movie theatre, a park for kids, a yoga studio, Sushi Ran Japanese Restaurant, the new Cafe Cibo, a health food store and an art gallery. Not to be missed is 'Angelino's' Italian Restaurant on the waterfront with breathtaking views of the city. Browse the galleries after dinner as you stroll home. Perhaps rent a boat or take the ferry and go out on the bay? Remember to dress warmly mornings/evenings and enjoy brilliant hot sun during the day. For a quiet day in, I would recommend a walk on the hill followed by breakfast at Cafe Cibo, buy some groceries and then home for a nice relaxing bath. BBQ outside in the garden or cook in our fully equipped gourmet kitchen. In the evening enjoy 100's of free movies or play video games on the Sony HDTV by the warmth of the fire. Whatever you do, you are guaranteed to enjoy this delightful area with so much to offer for every person's taste. We wish you much Joy & Happiness during your holiday. Teresa Hulst
