My wife and I and another couple who are long term friends spent five nights in this beautiful apartment in May 2012. The accomodations in this condo unit are accurately and fully described in the photos and descriptions provided. The owner was very helpful in arranging the visit and we definitely appreciated the services of the on-site contact Marika who welcomed us on arrival and was always available to answer questions. The location was perfect for out interest in visiting historic Athens -- an easy 10 minute walk to the base of the Acropolis and the Plaka district and an easy metro ride to the Archeological Museum and other sites. In addition, the neighborhood is a welcome place to return to after a busy day, with a very nice local restaurant, bakery and small market. I highly recommend it.

Everything about The Stratis met our expectations based on our reasons for choosing this property over any other. The condo is well maintained and accurately represented on the VRBO website. The condo manager is a gracious provider of information and most helpful in all things -- we were welcomed with fruit, chocolates and wine. Our son arrived a few hours earlier than we from Paris and we appreciated him being given access to the condo prior to our arrival. It is ideally located in the centre of Athens on a quiet side street. All the main historical and tourist attractions are within easy walking distance. I would highly recommend this property to anyone wishing to experience Athens. Should we ever return to Athens -- we would want to stay here again.

Our family, complete with a 12 and 15 year old, stayed here for 1 week in Aug 2011. This apartment, and Athens in general, is very easy to access from the airport via the Metro/subway. The apartment is very well equipped and in excellent condition. Marika, the on-site manager met us as promised and had some food/drink supplies ready for us which were very much appreciated. The apartment is within walking distance of the major tourist attractions. In addition, the apartment is a very short walk from a tram stop - you can buy tickets at the automatic machines and then hop on for a 30 min ride to many of the beach resorts. The apartment is also very close to a grocery store, fruit/vegetable market, a bakery and a local tavern. We recommend this apartment highly. Urania/Markia - thanks for making our visit to Athens memorable!

We have stayed in several short term rental apartments on our travels over the years and we found the Stratis to be the best appointed of all of them. We stayed 8 days and there was not one time that we “wished” we had something -- I cannot say that about any other apartment we have rented. There was bottled water and juice in the fridge as well as some fruit and there was body wash, shampoo, TP and tissues in the bathrooms so that you don’t have to run out to a store right away after a long flight. Much appreciated!!! The location is ideal for exploring the neighborhoods and sights of Athens on foot and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. Booking with Urania prior to our trip was easy and professional and Marika the on site manager was terrific. I highly recommend this property for your homebase in Athens.

We stayed there in July of 2010. We found the location excellent, with easy access to the Plaka and the Acropolis. We were traveling with our two grandchildren and the accommodation was just perfect for our needs. The only criticism is that they were building or renovating the building next to the apartment and this woke us up at 6:45 am each morning. The person who looks after the apartment lives across the alley and is very helpful. Her name is Marika, and she greeted us with a welcome package which included fruit, juice and cheese which was just great when traveling with children. She assisted with providing locations of where to eat and how to get around the city. Marika made our stay most pleasant. Further, she arranged for her husband, Gregory, to drive us to Delphi for a day, she made arrangements for us to take the ferry to Santorini, and booked a cab large enough to get to the ferry when we departed. If you like to walk, the apartment location is just great, and the accommodation is clean and very well organized for travelers. We would recommend it to others. The apartment is a 15 minute walk from the Acropolis, but you are not able to see it from the apartment.

When you come into a city you have never visited before (and maybe even if you have been there once or twice) there is always a bit of anxiety about what to expect and more generally about whether your plans as laid will pan out. However, if you have booked The Stratis at 5 K Neri in Athens, Greece, not to worry. Just relax. This is a beautiful confidence-building apartment (very new as opposed to very old or very middle-aged) and the moment you step in the door you are at home – especially if you come from a luxurious home. More than that, to further assuage our anxiety as first time visitors to Athens, moments after we arrived, concierge-guardian angel Marika appeared apparition-like from across the narrow street (she lives but a stones’ throw away) to instruct us on the amenities of the apartment and to offer directions to our desires of the moment – butcher, baker and a reasonably priced bar. To supplement Marika’s kind and poignant instruction the managers provide a detailed handbook for the apartment, which we found extremely helpful and would have found it more helpful had we read all of it. Of course for those who do not wish to read when they are on vacation, Marika is always on-call or callable. And, yes, for the benefit of us mono-tongued Americans, she speaks English. Otherwise the rooms are spacious, (two bedrooms) wonderfully and comfortably arranged and furnished, a modern kitchen and living room area, a-bath-and-a-half, and just short steps beyond the main door an elevator or lift to get the weary walker up or down – though there are those who may prefer to climb the beautiful new Spartan-marble stairway. More than that, the apartment is centrally located in the oldest part of the city – at two or three monuments or sites a day, I suspect it might take more than a week to exhaust the walkable attractions. We climbed the acropolis to the Parthenon, visited Plaka, Hadrian’s Arch and Zeus’ Temple. Moreover, there are good and very good restaurants in the neighborhood, and dozens (hundreds?) of shops and stores. What more is there to say? We stayed a week and were sorry we could not have stayed longer. For the attention given by the landlord to insure our comfort, and the livability of the apartment, the price was very good. For us, The Stratis was our home in Athens. Certainly we shall return. Again, thank you Uriana and Marika. Wayne Lanter

We went to Athens during Christmas, 2009, to visit our daughter who is teaching English literature in a local prep school. The condo was great, and the weather cooperated. We had all the amenities we needed and food stores were within walking distance. Marika, the local manager, is a great minister of hospitality as well. This condo should be a serious consideration if you're planning a trip to Athens.

My family and I stayed at The Stratis January 1, 2010 - January 6, 2010. The place looks just like the photographs and is as clean and equipped as described. The beds were comfortable, the water was hot, Marika (the manager) was wonderful and even stocked our refrigerator with some essentials before our arrival in anticipation of store closures for the holiday weekend (very thoughtful). The nicest thing about staying here is the location. It is right in the heart of everything and within walking distance of all the major attractions. You couldn't ask for a better location. A reserved taxi that meets you at the airport cost about 50 Euros, including tip, to get here, and it's about a 30 minute drive in traffic. If I had to complain about anything, it would be that the wireless internet was not super great (and non-existent the first few days of our stay) but there are plenty of places to tap into wireless if it's essential. And coming from Switzerland, it's hard to beat the efficiency of the buildings here, so this apartment in Greece seemed a bit noisy by comparison (water in the pipes, dogs barking). But overall, we were comfortable. It's clean, and has everything you need for home cooked meals and the washer and dryer are a serious bonus! Urania is a very gracious landlord and more than willing to answer all your questions and provide any assistance.

Our family of four stayed in this immaculate condo during Christmas week 2008. Marika greeted us upon arrival and provided us with many travel tips during our stay. The condo is within walking distance of the Acropoli metro stop. Around the corner is wonderful shopping for breads, pastries, local fruits and vegetables and a butcher shop. The condo is well equipped for cooking in if you want to enjoy the local foods. We highly recommend this condo for your stay in Athens.

We had a wonderful stay in this condominium. We had to make arrangements in a matter of days to take our unplanned trip to Greece to visit family. Ourania was very helpful and accommodating with every detail. Marika was always available for any questions we had. The condominium was immaculate and very comfortable.

My husband and I and another couple stayed in this lovely apartment the week of October 6, 2008. We were so thrilled with the terrific design, perfect appointments, amenities! It was truly a home away from home. The location is phenomenal, just a 5 - 10 minute walk from the Acropolis and the Metro station. The apartment's caretaker lives directly across the street, and while we had no problems whatsoever, it was nice to know she was available if necessary. A perfect place for friends or family to enjoy Athens. Highly recommended.

We stayed in this lovely condo in Aug. 2008. It is in a great location. We walked to all the sights including the Acropolis and the Plaka area with no problems. There are also many taxis available about 1 block away. The condo was very clean, decorated in such good taste. Nice towels, good shower. The air conditioning was efficient and quiet. Safety features were wonderful. Coded locks on door to the building and coded locks on the door to the condo. Caretaker lives right across the street and was extremely helpful and friendly. Renting this condo was a wonderful experience. Linda Fink
