Days of Wine and Hot Tubs

Guest: David (Philadelphia)
Date of Stay: 03/20/12 Review Submitted: 04/26/12

My wife and I recently stayed here after a conference in SF and were thrilled to find what is probably the best accomodation value in all of Sonoma! There is plenty of room and the vaulted ceilings make it seem even bigger. The large shower, separated from the rest of the bathroom, was open to the bedroom, giving it an especially spacious feel. While a bit off the beaten path, the house is still only about 15 minutes from Guerneville (with plenty of dining options--we recommend The Hideaway and Guerneville Taco Truck). The Dry Creek and Russian River Valley wineries are all well within day trip distance, and there are many amazing back country roads to explore nearby. But the best part of our stay was coming home to the hot tub, relaxing with a glass of wine, staring up at 200 foot high redwoods and listening to the creek. We made it our daily ritual. Our only complaint was the bed, which, while large, was uncomfortably soft. Still, we would be more than happy to return someday.

Cute Place

Nice place, very private deck. However, on our stay fireplace did not work, the gas grill was unusable (and propane was not provided - we would had to have driven back to town) and the place was 'kind of' clean. There are exposed beams on the ceiling and they were covered in thick cobwebs.

Excellent getaway for a family of three!

This is our second time visiting Cazadero (first time at this cottage), and it was just as we remembered it. We had a great time staying at this very quiet, and updated cottage, it offers all the amenities you could possibly need. We felt very comfortable staying here and were quite surprised at how modern this place is. 15 minutes from Guerneville, and 15 minutes the opposite direction to Jenner by the sea! We will definitely be coming back here! The owner offers a very fair price and to be honest, is probably charging too little! Thank you very very much for having us! We enjoyed our stay immensely!

I Felt Like I Died And Went To Heaven

Seriously Dannon! It was the last week of summer with weather in the 90's. Daytime beach-combing, afternoon creek swimming, crystal-clear evenings staring at distant galaxies. Uncle John and Uncle Jay's "home away from home" (John cried when we left)...total peace and relaxation. I would recommend Creekside to all my fans around the world but John wants me to keep it a secret LOL. Enough about me... You'll LOVE your stay at this home in the majestic redwoods in Cazadero. Open the door to the living room/full kitchen combo that is full of light and coziness. Stock the fridge, pop open some wine and soak in the jacuzzi on the large back deck. Enjoy a nice barbeque (5 stars to Willowside Meats And Sausage Co.) or check out The Garden Grill (killer french fries to die for). Have a telescope? TAKE IT. You won't believe the heavenly views on a clear night! Enjoy sleeping on a new comfortable bed with a skylight. A large walk-in shower and bathroom with washer/dryer are a few feet away. You too will feel like you're in heaven!

Absolute Relaxation

Guest: Angie (Martinez)
Date of Stay: 08/27/11 Review Submitted: 09/06/11

My husband and I and our dog recently stayed here for a long weekend. It was just what the doctor ordered. The cabin feels very secluded from the rest of the area though it isn't. Very private deck with a clean hot tub overlooking the creek surrounded by beautiful redwood trees. The inside of the cabin is very clean and comfortable, they did a wonderful job at decorating it. The kitchen had everything you could need coffe pot, pans, dishes, condiments ect.. The bed is extremely comfortable and the washer and dryer were a big help after a day at the beach. Ten minutes from the ocean, five minutes from the Russian River and about 1 minute from an excellent bakery in Cazadero. Can not wait to come back!

What a charming house. We felt very comfortable and secure there. The dogs loved the creek and we enjoyed the walks thru the counbtryside, picking berries and the redwoods. Sleeping late, reading, walking and enjoying one another's company, my wife and I totally relaxed in mid August. Guernville was minutes away as was Duncan Mills..lots of good restaurants when we didnt feel like cooking. The home was very clean and comfortable. Loved the bed. The owner has a great place there!! 5 stars

Tranquility Base

stayed here for four days in late July with my brother and our dogs- this place is heavenly! Life had been more than interesting (in the sense of the Chinese curse) for some time, and we needed some peace. From the almost Zen simplicity of the yard as you enter, to the beauty and comfort of the cottage itself, this was amazing. Walking out on the back porch, the sense of utter peace and tranquility was like an encompassing fog. The sounds of the creek running over the rocks was the perfect soundtrack. We spent a great deal of our time sitting out there, admiring the redwoods, the creek, sun through the leaves and branches. The cottage itself has every comfort; a well equipped kitchen, a HUGE modern shower, lovely skylight over the bed. A washer and dryer finish off the conveniences. Entertainment is provided for those so inclined - cable tv, music and books for many tastes. I never travel without books, but I felt that any time not spent just steeping in the lovely atmosphere was time misspent. Our dogs (one Lab, one bulldog) were in heaven with the creek and my brother and his Lab took full advantage of the adjacent swimming holes, We are now on a saving regimen to go back as soon as possible! The daybed in living room was comfortable and ideal for a second bed. Also, don't miss the bakery in Cazadero- fabulous breads and pastries and delightful people. If you want to stay at a warm, comfortable, beautiful place and let all the knots come undone, this is the place!! The pictures online do not do it justice!

We just returned from our Weekend Getaway with our 2 little daughter ( 2 and 9 months old). This beautifully decorated cabin is just what we needed to relax and unwind. The cabin was clean and had all the basic things we needed (i so overpacked). The hot tub was amazing. My daughter loved splashing in the creek and we spent our evenings grilling on the deck. Perfect place at the perfect location. Private, Secluded, Romantic and Peaceful. Thanks Dannon for being such wonderful and helpful hosts. We cant wait to go back. :)

We fell in love with this cottage the minute we opened the door. Its smart, practical and comfortable. We loved spending the afternoon on the rock beaches with our dogs. Just a stone's throw away in both directions are deep pools to jump in for a swim. The hot tube was clean and we spent our evenings enjoying the jacuzzi in the crisp night air. This is officially our new favorite vacation spot! Perfect for two people or a family with small children/dogs. Perfect price, perfect location, perfect accommodations. We can't wait to go back.

Granny's weekend getaway with granddaughters

Guest: Barbara G. (Sacramento, California)
Date of Stay: 05/13/11 Review Submitted: 05/17/11

We are from Sacramento and stayed the weekend 5/13 thru 5/15. We had 2 perfect days weather wise. The directions were so easy just as our HOST posted them. What a gem of a cottage, quaint, quiet, just awesome. My 2 granddaughters and I had a blast we waded in the creek right outside the cottage. We barbequed both days and used the hot tub. It was great. We visited 2 Sonoma State Beaches and had a picnic. The amenities were perfect. The girls just loved the gas stove in the living room while we ate popcorn and watched DVD's. Since we could not get service on our cell phones, we were able to use the house phone unlimited. Thanks so much!! I would recommend this place to not only couples, but a small family as well. As to our HOST, thank you so much and I will be back next year!

Very charming place!

We had a very good time here. Everything we needed was there. We grilled out on the deck, we went wading in the creek, walked up the dead end part of Austin Creek Road and did a lot of sightseeing. Korbel is a great place to visit - beautiful grounds, a great deli and the tasting is free. We also explored Healdsburg, went to the Charles Schulz museum and Luther Burbank gardens in Santa Rosa and went to Point Reyes.

Great getaway from San Francisco

Guest: Johnny O (San Francisco, the Castro district)

Kissy poos from Uncle John and Uncle Jay from The Castro district in San Francisco! We had a 5 day blast at your cabin. We couldn't have had better weather (it only rained for about 2 minutes), snuggling under the stars in the jacuzzi having some serious BBQ and wine, surrounded by redwoods with the creek bubbling in the background (it was almost half full)...the stress melted off like butter on a fresh grilled ear of corn. We can not wait to come back in a few months for our 17th anniversary. Your cabin is a pure delight!

Perfect Getaway!!

Guest: Jen (Santa Cruz)

We were very happy with this rental house. It was just perfect for the two of us and our small dog. Everything was very well stocked and the home was very clean. We spent 4 nights over Christmas here and had a great time!! The neighborhood was very nice and quiet and you can't beat the view of the river off the deck. It did rain 3 of the four days we were here, but it just gave us more time to spend together inside. When it wasn't raining we were in the hot tub. Couldn't have dreamed of a better Christmas! I would recommend this wonderful place to anyone.

Our favorite rental

Guest: Joy (San Jose, CA)
Date of Stay: 12/18/10 Review Submitted: 08/31/11

We stayed here last winter and I have always meant to write a review. We stay at about 3-4 rentals each year in California and this has been our favorite one. My husband didn't want to leave once we got here and that's saying a lot since he usually hard to impress. This has been the only rental he ever wanted to come back to. Our favorite part was being that close to the water. The hottub on the deck was wonderful. I also loved the skylight in the bedroom. So many things that made this place great.

Cute and romantic

Guest: Bev (Sunrise, FL)
Date of Stay: 10/21/10 Review Submitted: 10/28/10

The house is very cozy and has all the amenities you need for a long weekend. The home was warm and very pleasant and remote enough if you really just want to get away. It rained the entire time we were there -- nonstop. The sound of the raindrops on the skylight coupled with the traffic from the highway running right in front of the house made sleeping peacefully somewhat of a challenge. But even that wasn't horrible. The hot tub and the gas cooking appliances were a plus as I understand the power tends to go out in the winter.
