Why the Owner Chose Chestatee
We had rented this house from a friend of ours a few years back. We had entire family (my parents and my sisters family of 7) at the house for an entire week. It was set up perfect for our large group. The cove is the best on Lanier. The kids are able to swim without worries of boat traffic or open lake wave action. Deep but small. The neighbors are great and it is very private.

Very quiet. You know you are at the lake when you drive down the gravel road to the house. It feels like a lake house should feel. You instantly know that you are on vacation....and you won't want to leave
About 15 min by car or boat. Great fun for the family. Also there is a great golf course here
This is only about 10 min from the house. They have all the top line factory outlets

This was our first vacation with our extended family of 9 and we were extremely pleased with this home and location. It’s a bit tricky to get to the first time as it is slightly “off the beaten path”, but well worth the minimal extra effort and there are other homes on the cove so you are not completely isolated. The kitchen was clean and adequately equipped and there were enough bedrooms of various configurations to suit everyone's needs as well as adequate bathrooms. There were rooms where we could hang out together, or spaces (inside and out) where we could be on our own when we wanted. A big plus was that we could seat everyone at the same table for meals. The screened porch with its rockers was wonderful, as was the adjacent sunroom! The walk down to the dock is a bit steep, but they keep the path cleared so it is easy to navigate. If you don't have your own boat, it's easy to rent one nearby to explore the lake and you can dock it at the house if you rent overnight. The owners were very helpful prior to our stay and the rental process was easy. John also responded promptly to assist us when a storm knocked out power one day. This home makes a great base for exploring nearby attractions such as Atlanta, Stone Mountain, Amicaloa Falls, or plantations, or just hanging out relaxing at the house or on the lake. Our family spent a lot of time around the ping pong and foosball tables! We would not hesitate to rent from the Sommers again.

Our family of over 30 came and went over a two week period coming from FL, NY, PA, and VA. We had a WONDERFUL time enjoying the cottage as well as the dock and lake at our fingertips. We so appreciate the owner's attention to everything and would highly recommend this to anyone wanting a relaxing vacation on Lake Lanier!

We rented the lake home for 2 weeks this summer....what an awesome spot on Lake Lanier!! The home is roomy, lots of public space for family gathering, and lots of space if you need a minute of solitude as well. Favorite spot.....without a doubt, on the lower portion of the dock, shaded, breezy and comfortable! The house has all you need to host a large reunion like we had. Love the setup with the kitchen as the hub....never felt left out even if it was your turn to cook. The owner was easy to reach, answered our questions quickly and had an awesome attitude....made us feel right at home.
Recommended for:Girls getaway, families with young children.

This is our second time staying at this house. We really love it. It is nice and big- with lots of places to sleep.- great for a family with teenagers/ lots of kids or extended family. The cove and dock are great for swimming and lounging and we really like the location on this side of the lake. The owner is extremely helpful and the house is very well maintained and stocked with everything to make your stay enjoyable. If you want to go to a great restaurant one night in Gainesville I would recommend Scotts on the Square

My family of 10 stayed at this house for 7 days and we felt very comfortable. The layout was nice and open. The cove is perfect abd the large dock made it perfect. The walk to the water was down a slight decline...but much better that places we have used on Lanier in the past. The kitchen was well outfitted and for the money...this was an incredible deal. The Sommers were very easy to rent from and we will be back for our third summer!

My husband and I just wanted to have a relaxing few days away from everything... and this was PERFECT! So close to the water, private dock with an amazing view. We watched the deer in the woods across the cove... so nice! The "all season" porch allowed us to sit in the screened section during the warmth of the day and move to the sun room side in the evenings... sipping coctails and watching the sun go down. One of the most delightful mini-vacations that we've enjoyed.

Well today is my Birthday and all our family is together here at this wonderful lake house. We have enjoyed our vacation here and would love to return. It's been beautiful and you've been great with all of the extra's. The kids loved the fishing. Adults loved all the quiet places to read a book. Some of us just did nothing...but RELAX!. Again...thanks for everything.
