Nice Condo, not that nice owner

Beautiful condo, with some details including no wifi in the condo, but overall we had a great time. Everything went smooth my stay was between check in at 8/3/2011 to check out 8/7/2011. The bad experience came several days after my stay. Got a call from the owner, telling me that he had been notified by Las Palomas of damages and that he had pictures. I was surprised because my wife and I were the last ones out and checked everything out for damages and not leaving things. I asked to see the pictures and the owner refuse to send them to me because he argue that he did not know how to email them to me and that I did not needed to see them because I according to him I was aware of my “criminal acts”. I told the owner we could not continue with the conversation until he forward me the pictures, he continue to refuse and after the phone call I personally call Las Palomas Resort and inquire about the damage to the condo. Las Palomas did not have any such allegations on their computer files. Again, nice place but beware of possible inflammatory allegations after you get out (take pictures before and after). I hope this is all a misunderstanding. I have rented before from VRBO and never had this type of experience.

Owner response:This person is a LIAR Laspalomas Security was notified by the Maid and security emailed that last renter broke glass table by throwing a beautifull vase on the glass table and then thru a glass picture on the floor and ripeded a 4 inch hole in a Dinning room leather chair , What really seems strange he told me he didnt think he did it THINK John Bolz owner

Stayed for a Week July 24th - July 31st. Just one problem

This had been our 10th consecutive year staying in phase 2. We have never really had any problems but this time around we had a problem when we arrived at this unit. I had been monotoring the availability via the calendar to see if we would be butted up against a departure so I could adjust our arrival time. We were coming from Northern Los Angeles, about 580 miles. Much to my pleasure, the owners calendar showed a 2 day window between the previous ocupants departure and our arrival. Unfortunately this did not pan out. After 10 hours of driving we checked in at 4:15pm only to open the front door and find this condo completely trashed. There was broken glass on the floor, dirt and sand everywhere, dirty laundry on the floors in all the rooms and the kitchen a mess. When I complained I was told that there was somebody there for those 2 days and that they checked out at 3pm instead of the standard 11 am checkout time. I do not hold the owners responsible for this but if I were them, I would find out who was there July 22-24 as these people were animals and had no respect for this beautiful condo. Even though they got 4 houskeepers to work on it, and we were stuck till after 6pm to get in, the place was still filthy. These people before us were animals. After 3 days of paying housekeeping out of our own pocket the place did get to a clean state.

Owner response:I question this persons review ,He said he stayed 10 consecutive years in phase 2 ,The problem with that statement is phase 2 is less than 3 years old , Also I pay all cleaning fees , He didnt have to pay any cleaning fees ,I talked with the General Manager Arturo Freehoffer and his staff and they had no knowledge of this happening John Bolz Owner Cabrillo 601

Exactly As Described.....and Hassle Free....

The condo is exactly as described. It is a nicely decorated condo in a very nice condo complex. I have stayed in several places in Rocky Point/Puerto Penasco and this property is clearly the best. The pools , the grounds, and the services are all superior to other local resorts. The fact the owner handles the other charges (wristband fees, house cleaning, environmental impact fees) are nice. Check in and check out was via the hotel lobby and was smooth and quick with no surprises at all. We had a great experience and will return. One last thing, despite the travel warnings for driving to Mexico, we experienced no problems whatsoever - but we deliberately traveled during the day. There were no random checkpoints on the highway and the federal police were actively patrolling the highway. Hassle free travel!
