This vintage summer cottage with over 5,000 square feet of space was constructed in the early 1900's. It is perfect for extended families needing room for everyone to visit, spread out and relax. "Rockledge" has nine bedrooms, a sunroom with a daybed, four bathrooms, three fireplaces, a "flight deck" overlooking the ocean, two patios, a large dining room seating 10 or more, butler's pantry, a kitchen with dining table and chairs, and a laundry and wood room. The house is fully furnished and equipped, cleaned by housekeeping services and ready to occupy. Cable TV and wireless internet services are available.

This beautiful house is called a "cottage" but it is that and a whole lot more! It offers fabulous panoramic views from most of the rooms. Sit on the deck and watch the ocean, the seagulls and lobstermen gathering their catch. Located in the exclusive south end of Rockport, it is a quiet and restful retreat, yet so accessible to the artist colony town of Rockport with its galleries, interesting shops and restaurants. Walk to Loblolly Cove, Pebble Beach and Cape Hedge Beach. Rockledge is seasonal and only available by the week or more, from Saturday to Saturday. It is not uncommon for bookings to be secured two years ahead so please make your inquiries early.

  • Wonderful place to spend your summer vacation. There are several beaches in walking distance...and same with town of Rockport. The house has the old friendly charm that makes you want to do lots of cooking, reading books, and just hanging out. Morning coffee and sunrise over the water...and sunsets from the steps overlooking the back area...all wonderful. A good breeze is always blowing through the house...so even hot days are ok. We had five families sharing 4 1/2 baths...which turned out to be easy. Two refrigerators....double sinks for clean up. Did I mention...excellent WIFI!!!

  • We rented Rockledge in order to gather two families from Washington, Indiana, and all over New England. Rockledge was perfect in every way. We thoroughly enjoyed the view, the house, and the proximity to Rockport (we all got a bit of a thrill from being chased by a turkey as we walked into town!). One night we had a family reunion at the house. The setting couldn't have been better. We'll be back.

  • WE HAD A FABULOUS TIME IN THIS WONDERFULLY INTERESTING HOUSE!!!!!!! We went with children, their spouses, and teen-age grandchildren. The layout was amazing for a group of nine people. We had comfortable bedrooms and privacy but the spacious common areas were super for togetherness. The house is well-equipped for family life... lots of good linens, clean, comfortable beds, adequate cooking facilities also very well equipped. The only sadness was leaving it at the end of vacation.... most especially the huge, perfect-slant-for-reading clawfoot bathtubs. All nine vacationers in our group were highly satisfied and very fascinated by the house.
