The "Hawk Street Hacienda" is a resort style residence, nestled in the hills above the city with sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean, San Diego harbor, Mexico, Coronado, Laguna Mountains and downtown. This 3000+ square foot 5 bedroom 3 bath residence offers gracious spaces, exceptional quality, exciting amenities and comforts for everyone. As you can see from the photos, this home is not your typical vacation rental. It has been tastefully and professionally decorated with high end new furniture and artwork. Conveniently located in Mission Hills, one of the most upscale and affluent neighborhoods in San Diego, this home is truly the BEST in California City Living.

Where to start... How about the drive up and curb appeal. Dramatic is an appropriate beginning. This Spanish Contemporary has lush landscaping complete with flora of many genres. A stunning cascading water fall and pond greets the visitor. Notice the beautiful front door which is a statement all in itself. And you’ll have no trouble finding parking with space for 4 cars in the driveway plus ample space on the street.

Step inside and you have a multi- level home which is completely workable from just one level. Home boasts grand living and family spaces with views from almost every window. The living room boasts large windows which drown the space in light and ambiance. In addition to the amazing views of the bay and downtown, the centerpiece of this room is the floor to ceiling natural stone gas fireplace. Next to this room is the formal dining area with comfortable seating for eight. From here a walk down the hall takes you into an incredible remodeled kitchen sporting new stainless steel KitchenAid appliances including a beverage center/chiller, crushed granite countertops, and a Lyptus butcher block island with 2nd sink to start. This gourmet cooks paradise is fully stocked with all the gadgets, spices and cookware you’ll need to create a meal even Rachel Ray would be proud of. While you cook, your family and friends will enjoy the fantastic family room spacious enough for all your creature comforts complete with fireplace, 50” Flat screen HDTV and 6 speaker Dolby surround sound.

The family room opens up onto the outdoor living area which may be the centerpiece of this home and makes this a vacation rental like no other. When you step outside you’ll be treated to a magnificent rebuilt pool and 10 person spa with waterfalls. The pool is complete with solar heating and state of the art PENTAIR pool pumps and equipment. You and the kids will enjoy lounging on pool floats or relaxing in the comfortable chaise lounges soaking up the famous Southern California sun. In addition to your own private waterpark there is a gourmet stainless steel fully equipped BBQ and outdoor gas fireplace for your family and friends to gather around at night. You’ll find plenty of outdoor seating with room for 6 at the BBQ bar and seating for 4 more at the table located above on the wrap-around balcony accessible from the pool via the spiral staircase. From this spacious balcony you’ll be blown away by the incredible views of the mountains, downtown, Coronado, the Pacific Ocean and during certain times- breathtaking fireworks displays. This is the best spot in town during the Forth of July because you’ll witness coordinated fireworks displays from 4 separate locations throughout the city. The outdoor space is exceptional and provides the PERFECT setting for weddings, receptions, and any other event you can dream up. The word entertainment and indoor/outdoor living defines this residence.

You’ll be pleased with the array of spacious sleeping arrangements offered by this residence. The entire upstairs is a master suite with sitting area comprised of comfortable sectional and 52” projection screen TV. This is the perfect place for quiet time or romance away from the rest of the guest. This suite also boast a CA King bed, stunning bath, huge closets, and wrap around decks which emphasize the spectacular views of America's Finest City's ever changing downtown.

The entry level of this home features 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. Two of the bedrooms include queen beds, with one of these rooms featuring French doors opening directly onto the pool area. The 3rd bedroom includes bunk beds- a single above a futon which easily converts into a full size mattress. This room’s windows open to the sound of the cascading waterfall in the front yard.

The lower level of the home features the largest bedroom which includes a private entrance, separate sitting area, CA king bed, huge closet, and a very cool and quiet atmosphere perfect for those who like to sleep in…

It was super private, plenty of room to spread out, Awesome POOL, great kitchen, close to pretty much everything and it truly was the icing on the cake to a fantastic week! I would give it 5 stars and would for sure go back in a heartbeat!

  • We were very pessimistic about renting this property since we had never done this before. We had nothing to fear. The place is beautiful. It has everything thing you need. It felt like a home away from home. Mark was amazing. My son called him to ask a few question the 2nd day we were there and he came down personally to help. The kitchen cupboards are full of all kinds of sauces and spices. This was the most enjoyable vacation we have had ever.My 2 grand daughters loved the house. We were there for a business convention and the little kept on saying, let's go back to Mark's home. I highlt recommend this property. If we go back to San Diego, this is difinitely the place we would stay.The view is fantastic. The pool and the hot tub with the water fall is very relaxing. Thanks Mark for letting us use your home.   • We enjoyed our stay very much, and the house was beautiful and very functional for our large family. Our Teens loved the jacuzzi! Being so close to the freeway and Little Italy was also wonderful. In 10 minutes or less we could be where we wanted to go =].

  • We had a group of 5 adults staying at the Hawk Street Hacienda, and this was simply the most beautiful house I've ever vacationed in. The views from the balcony are amazing - both of downtown and the Pacific ocean. The bedrooms are very spacious, and the master bedroom is just exquisite. We spent a lot of time in the large open kitchen, just a great place to hang out where you can see everything. Of course the pool & jacuzzi were fantastic as well, and the night lighting in the pool + waterfall is absolutely relaxing. Everything we needed was already provided - We are definitely coming back next year Mark, viva la Hawk Street Hacienda!

  • We had a group of ten adults that got together for a reunion in San Diego. The house was absolutely perfect. We made use of the BBQ grill and kitchen almost every night. It was also very easy to get to everthing that SD has to offer. Highly recommended.

  • The house was absolutely wonderful! You wouldn't believe such a lovely home lay behind all of that beautiful landscaping. The entire family loved it and had the best vacation EVER!! The most loved feature was that of the jacuzzi and pool. The changing lights and waterfall made it all the more exciting. There was plenty of room for all so no fighting for a bed which was very pleasant. The kitchen was being used all of the time also-- no eating out was necessary. Every one of us had an awesome time and didn't want to leave!! We hope to return sometime in the near future. Thank you for everything!!!!

  • Wow! From the initial entrance I knew my family would enjoy staying at Hawk St. Hacienda. The gorgeous balcony views of downtown San Diego, the ocean, and the cliffs of Point Loma provided a visual and stunning landscape outside the rental property, however, the views from within the house were just as magnificent. The secluded landscaping, large pool/hot tub, large open kitchen (we only dined out ONCE!) and overall breezy layout of the house complimented our vacation with nothing but superb and luxurious amenities. Thanks for providing such a wonderful and hospitable place to stay while enjoying the company of those I love most. I'm looking forward to reserving for next year!

  • We stayed in this home last weekend and it was AMAZING. The pool/jacuzzi are great...the waterfall and changing colored lights in the pool are beautiful at night. Speaking of night, the view off of the master bedroom is gorgeous at night - you can see downtown all lit up. BBQ / Bar area outside is great for day time entertaining too. Cab fare to downtown or to the train station is $10 with tip! Bathrooms are large, rooms are comfy/clean and the kitchen has everything you need (including spices). You will get lost in this house - it took us a day to get the layout straight! There's definitely room to get "lost" if you want or plenty of room to gather as a group in the comfy living room with the L shaped couch and flat screen television. Everything you want in a vacation home. We didn't want to leave! Excellent Excellent Excellent VRBO home! Amy

  • Dear Mark, When you said "you won't want to leave"- you were right. My family ABSOLUTELY LOVED YOUR HOME! This was our first experience renting from a homeowner and you made it so pleasant we don't think we'll ever stay in a hotel again. Your home was all that you describe on the website and more... we could not have been more impressed with the gorgeous backyard oasis. We couldn't get the kids out of the pool! In fact we canceled a few of our planned sightseeing trips and just stayed at the house- saved us a lot of money on waterpark tickets and much safer than the ocean :-) Thanks again for making our vacation so wonderful and we hope to make this an annual event.   • Wanted to let you know that we had a great time at your home in San Diego this past week. The photos looked great in the ads, and we were worried that it wouldn't live up to how it looked online. However, the place was great. We loved the decor, we loved the pool (especially our kids loved the pool; adults loved the hot tub and pool), and we loved the location - it was remarkably close to everything. Would definitely stay here again if we return to San Diego (which we will).
