Villa is located in gated/secured development where a morning walk would add to your daily activities. Christmas on the Big Island

We spent a week over Christmas with several generations in the villa (ages 4 - 69) and we could not have asked for a more perfect setting. We have stayed at Mauna Kea 5 times and have chosen to stay in the villas/condos for the past 3 visits. This villa was everything as advestised and more. There is an enormous amount of space and each bedroom is essentially a master suite with large attached bathrooms. The kitchen is exceptionally well-equipped and the large granite island makes for a great place for everybody to hang out after a day at the beach. We ate breakfast and dinner in the villa every day, cutting down dramatically on food costs (MK is excellent, but the prices are premium+). The grill - although somewhat challenging to light as the ignitor function appears to be on the way out - is outside on the lanai and has 8 gas burners which was great for a larger group (in fairness, there are instructions on how to light the gas grill). The villa also has plenty of beach equipment, such as boggie boards, towels, etc. I did not notice this during the reservation process and it was great to have a board for everybody who wanted one (5 or 6). The jacuzzi and pool at the villa were great for after beach fun and we used them every morning and evening. The community pool is ~2 mins walk from the villa and has two hot tubs and a large infinity pool which were in prestine condition. Decent work out equipment as well, but not a huge selection. Although we did not use the electronics much, the televisions are nice and the Wii system was an added bonus. The owner, Dean, was easy to work with and replied very quickly via email. He made the reservation process exceptionally smooth and was very helpful throughout. Overall, the property and the owners were outstanding and the villa was a great place to spend the holidays.

What a place! The views are stunning, the location is convenient to the best beaches of the island and to the mountain town of Waimea, with it's misty, cool mornings, farmer's markets, and cowboys. The villa was in excellent condition, with a kitchen that was better supplied than I expected. The kids were in the pool every single day, and having the wall of windows open up allowed us to prep dinner or clean up while being able to keep an eye on them. Most importantly, the owners were completely attentive to our needs. I think they genuinely cared about how much we would enjoy our experience in their villa. We will be back to the Big Island, and when we do, you'll find us at this property!

We spent a week at this gorgeous 3 bedroom villa with our 3 young children and couldn't have been more pleased. The villa is immaculate and exactly as advertised, with all the amenities. Fully equipped kitchen, flat screens, small pool & jacuzzi, wii gaming system, king beds, etc, etc, etc. The owners couldn't have been more accommodating or easier to work with, and the Mauna Kea resort is a 2 minute drive away. We had a great vacation, and will whole-heartedly recommend this rental to others.
Recommended for:Girls getaway, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.

We just returned from 8 days at this beautiful home and want to go back! It is an amazing property - 2 very large masters + bath, and a great 3rd room for the kids with video games, books and board games. We loved waking up in the morning and having coffee on the lanai with the view of the ocean and Maui. The pool and hot tub were used everyday by our kids, often at 7am, or in the evenings as we made dinner. All within easy view of the kids with the indoor/outdoor space. We would definitely go back! The location is great within Wai ula ula and just a short drive to the Mauna Kea or Hapuna hotels.

We spent 9 days at this property in August and loved every minute. The house was beautiful and well maintained and the owners went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and our needs met. The Mauna Kea resort was amazing too - best beach in the big island is clearlythe Mauna Kea beach. The people on staff were also all so nice and helpful - service was top notch. We would highly recommend this property and plan to go back again ourselves for another fabulous vacation.
