Accommodations
Our house is conveniently located in Belfast in Midcoast, Maine overlooking Belfast Harbor and Penobscot Bay,within a 7-10 minute walk to the historic brick downtown area. Here you will find many restaurants, shops, galleries, the Belfast Co-Op organic and natural food store, a working waterfront/public landing, a movie house and a great local theater company. The residential area of Belfast has a wide range of beautiful houses ranging from Colonial to Victorian, Greek Revival and everything in between. This is a town which has undergone some dramatic changes in recent years. Belfast has become famous for some of the award winning gardens throughout the town, for which there are tours. The beautifully landscaped Belfast Common is just up the street and is situated on the old site of a chicken processing plant. Events and concerts are held regularly there and through-out town. There is no lack of things to do.
Belfast is also a wonderful place to be in the autumn when the leaves turn , the air turns crisper and the pace slows down. Although we are currently booking weeks for next season, please inquire about great rates on remaining partial weeks or week-end getaways and be in the ideal spot to see foliage in Midcoast Maine. We in the town proper of Belfast on Bayview Street , facing East Belfast across the harbor. Our house sits above a lawn which slopes down-hill to a deck and private stairs descending from the top of a bluff to a small beach below. There are several decks and places to relax and ample space for beach chairs kayaks, etc.
Unlike much of the open ocean in Maine, the harbor usually gets warm enough to swim in comfortably most of the summer and often into September.

A wrap around deck is just outside with outdoor stairs descending off the end to the ground level. Our house gets great sun and has ample cross ventilation and the sea breeze is helped by multiple ceiling fans and many windows and skylights. There are three dedicated bedrooms . The very top floor has a queen bed, skylights and a bathroom. It has really spectacular views from a large window with views all the way to Castine and Blue Hill. There are 2 second-floor bedrooms, one is on the harbor side, also with great views and a full bed and another with two twin beds and a full bathroom between them.
