Along with spectacular views, Snug Harbor offers comfortable accomodations in the heart of Dewey Beach. Slip on your flip flops, grab morning coffee and head out across our private beach to the end of the boat dock and enjoy the sights and sounds drifting across the water. Repeat the trip in the evening and watch spectacular sunsets as you sip evening cocktails. Relax on our screened porches, ideal for card playing or writing postcards to envious friends!
Our little town, a picturesque strip nestled between the mighty Atlantic and tranquil Rehoboth Bay, is famous for its enticing mix of shops, restaurants and atmospheric nightlife. The Little Store, steps from our door, is a friendly, well-stocked landmark along the short walk to the dunes and pounding surf. As you stroll along the ocean's shoreline, be sure to check out the ad planes that fly overhead. They'll be trailing banners listing dinner and drink specials.
Most of our guests are repeat customers who plan to spend at least one night at the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk. If you haven't used the Jolley Trolley to get there, you've missed a treat. It's fun, affordable, and it picks up/drops off at the end of the street. Don't forget to sample some world-famous Dolle's popcorn or salt water taffy on your adventure across town!
Snug Harbor is the ideal choice for families or mature adults. We're located on the bay (Read Street); hang a right at Grotto Pizza and follow the road down to the water.

Owner Description
I was born in Delaware, but have lived in the Caribbean for 30 years where I teach school during the week and enjoy going to the beach or scuba diving on the weekends. My large family is made up of fellow educators, builders, and artists who value comfort and beauty and the chance to enjoy as much time together as possible. By necessity (since we're scattered all over the place!), we're travelers who have had many adventures in a variety of lovely places. Our traditional trek to Dewey each summer is a cherished ritual that we look forward to all year. We never tire of being out on the sand or on the dock enjoying beautiful sunsets. We would rather walk or ride bikes than drive. Grabbing skim boards or kites and heading up to the ocean in the early evening is totally us!
Why the Owner Chose Dewey Beach
Our family has always appreciated the unique nature of Dewey Beach. It offers something for everyone. Our unit at Snug Harbor has placed us in a prime location on the bay, with a private beach and boat dock. Since this is a small complex that caters to families, it has always suited our needs and high expectations. We know all of the owners and when units are rented, we usually meet interesting people who appear to be enjoying their vacations in much the same way as we're enjoying ours. The sunsets over the water are spectacular! We can walk to everything. Several nice restaurants opened last season and we frequent one a few blocks down that has an outdoor bar and tables on the sand. It's fun to go there for drinks and snacks while the children play!
The Unique Benefits of this Townhouse
Snug Harbor is attractive and comfortable. The beds are great and the kitchen is well-equipped. There are two screened porches (one on each of our 2 levels) which we use all the time for eating, card playing and sorting shells. Once you arrive, there's really no need to get back into your car. Walking, biking, boating or taking the trolley to the boardwalk in Rehoboth seem to be the norm. If you have a boat, wave runner, kayak or canoe, our boat dock is a real plus! There are few docking sites in town and this one comes with our unit at no extra charge! Those owners and guests not sitting on the beach can be seen on the dock dangling chicken necks in the water, hoping to catch blue claw crabs! A newly established park located next to our property is lovingly maintained and offers another beautiful spot to sit and enjoy the wide variety of activities on the bay.
