I felt the condo was everything it claimed to be and more. It has a wonderful view, very nicely furnished and has everything you need to make your Maui stay the best ever. The owner provided excellent service and follow up all the way through the process. The Whaler is a great place for location and beach and found the whole experience wonderful.

Just returned from Maui. We are a family of 6 who booked this condo based on the photos. It was better than we could have ever dreamed. I am a very fussy person and huge on cleanliness. This condo was extremely clean, comfortable and the views were to die for. We fell asleep to the sounds of the waves. The kitchen was very well stocked and the resort was so beautiful. We will definitely return to Maui and wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else. Thanks Ashvin for a wonderful holiday. We can't wait to rent your condo again next year.

Awesome Ocean Views

Great location with awesome ocean front views from all rooms--enjoyed watching whales from the lanai. Condo was comfortable, clean and well furnished. Kitchen supplies and towels/linens were very adequate. Restaurant on the grounds was excellent and reasonable. The whale watch from Ultimate Whale Watch out of Slip 17 in Lahaina (in a coast guard approved raft) was fantastic. Working with the owner during the entire process was very easy and efficient. Would return again and recommend to others.

Great place to stay

As soon as we got to the condo we saw a whale from the balcony. It was amazing!! Everything in the condo is updated, and the beds are very comfortable. This was a great place to stay, expecially for the price. The restaurant at the Kaanapalis shores is delicious and not over priced either. We would definately stay here again. Best trip ever!!!

My best friend recommended this condo to rent in Maui. My wife and I enjoyed this thoroughly. The view was excellent. Condo was nice and clean and updated. Of course, it is not a high end remodeling, but then I was getting it for a reasonable price also. It was worth what I paid for. The owners are very responsive and cared for their guests. I would recommend this to all my friends and family. MP

Honest Opinion of Condo.

Kaanapali Shores is slightly above average resort but nothing to get excited about. Pools are crowded and lounging chairs are tough to get. The beach commands beautiful sunsets but you will not be laying on the narrow beach or swimming in the ocean in front of the resort. Lets say you could.. but rocks etc. The condo is well furnished, 7th floor, and has nice views but Unfortunately does not face towards the sunset and the building blocks that view. The beds are fair but in need of an upgrade. The pullout couch bed is very uncomfortable. The kitchen has granite and nice cabinets. The condo is painted stark white and is average size. Still we had a great time!

Great Family Vacation

The condo was exactly as described and represented in the website photos. It was cozy with 6 of us staying in the unit, but we expected that when renting a two bedroom. The unit was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and we had plenty of towels. Having a washer/dryer was also handy. The kitchen had good appliances, and enough pots. pans, utensils, etc. for us to cook meals for 6 pretty easily, but did require a little creativity at times. Overall, the condo served us well, and the location made for a good home base to enjoy Maui. The Kaanapali Shores itself is a good 3.5 star resort, with hotel amenities - restaurant, pool towels, retail shops, concierge, etc. that you don't always find at a condo property. The reservation process was very easy, and the owners were quick to respond to questions and communicated well in general. I would not think twice about renting this condo again, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable unit that doesn't cost a fortune.

Just plain "Awesome"

Everything about our stay was awesome. The unit was beautifullly decorated, had everything we needed and even a few extras which we didn't expect but appreciated ie the suntan lotion. The view from the condo was even better than the pictures shown and booking the rental was easy, fast, friendly and efficient. This was my first VRBO and I would recommend this condo to anyone that would like to have a wonderful, beautiful, stress-free vacation in Hawaii. Thank you for letting us stay at your condo. Hope to do it again next year.

Not what we expected

We just stayed in this unit and the description of recently remodeled and everything updated is truly not accurate. This unit needs lots of attention. The location description was accurate, the property itself was clean and well kept howver the unit itself was not. The nearby attactions were perfect!

Owner response:As soon as the guest called about their complaint immediately the cleaning company was called to address the issue but at that point guest felt that they did not need any help. The unit kitchen and bathrooms are all fully remodeled and the condo was repainted in Dec 2011 along with new drapes and Flat Screen TVs.

Beautiful condo in a nice, family-oriented resort. The views from the condo are fantastic, and being on the seventh floor is great (above the palm trees so no obstructions of views!) The condo is immaculate with updated appliances, beautiful kitchen and bathrooms, and very comfortable beds. We could have stayed another week! The resort is also very nice, with a decent and convenient restaurant, a great couple of pools and hot tubs, and convenient access to lots of great activities on the island. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to Maui!

My family just returned a few weeks ago and I wish we were still there! The condo is terrific, new bathrooms and kitchen, wonderful views and the beds are very comfortable! My husband and I, along with our two children, had a wonderful stay at the condo. The condo was accurately described and photographed. The balcony view was breathtaking. Our visit in February, during whale season, allowed us to admire many whale sightings, especially from the privacy of the condo balcony. The living area, as well as both bedrooms, had magnificent ocean views. The Kaanapali property itself was very well maintained. We enjoyed the convenience of the on-site restaurant on several occasions. Ashvin was very helpful and quickly responded to any questions or concerns. I would definately return to this condo, and do not hesitate to recommend it to future travellers.

Absolutely Awesome

We stayed here in February 2010 and absolutely loved everything about it! It was very clean and well kept when we arrived and the staff at the Kaanapali shores are super friendly and very welcoming! Our kids, boy 11, girl 10, my mom, my husband and myself had a fantastic vacation and have already recommended this condo to several family and friends! We hope to be back very soon! Watching the whales from the lanai was Amazing, to say the least! Two pools and hot tubs were great for hanging out in the afternoon, the beach is right there, so no driving necessary as well as the restaurant, gift shop, and many more shops right in the lobby of the Kaanapali Shores. The washer/dryer came in handy and the icemaker on the fridge kept us with cool drinks all day long! Thank you for an awesome accommodation!

Outstanding Condo

The online pictures do not do justice to the view from this condo. The seventh floor is a perfect vantage point to view the multicolored water, palm trees, islands and sky. We also saw three beach weddings from the balcony. Each room was comfortable with a view. Fully equipped kitchen with new appliances and furnishings. Perfect for our family of four.

We had a wonderful time in your condo, it was perfect - lots of room for us and beautifully maintained - the view from the balcony is fantastic. Our children thoroughly enjoyed themselves too meeting lots of other teenagers from USA. It was a great experience for us as we have never booked thru VRBO before, we just loved Maui.

We had a wonderful time during our stay at your condo. The view was amazing and it was wonderful to wake up to the sound of the ocean every morning. The staff at Kaanapali Shores was very accomodating. The beach is great and there were always plenty of chairs. We hope to return at some point and if we do we would certainly stay here again. My friends and I had a fabulous time staying at your condo at the Kaanapali Shores. The condo was lovely, nicely decorated and the view was fabulous. We loved having the washer/dryer in the condo. Every morning we had breakfast out on the lanai and always said "Life doesn't get much better than this". Then we would head for the beach and say the same thing all over again. We spent the whole time relaxing, laying on the beach, reading and swimming. The sunsets were out of this world too! It was what we had all dreamed it would be like and more. The swimming was great, some rocks but not really a problem. There is one area where it is all sand. The beach is really nice and the Shores seem to be the only place in the area where you can have the lounge chairs on the beach. That makes all the difference when relaxing on the beach! The staff at Kaanapali Shores are friendly. It was great to have someone on site to book any excursions we wanted to go to. We have always said that the best vacation would be to park ourselves on the beach relax and read our books and that is exactly what we did. We went to a lauai at Old Lahaina and loved it...the dancing, story telling and the food was great. We also drove the road to Hana. What an experience that was and the scenery is spectacular. There is a wonderful private garden along the way that was incredible. It is called Maui Botanical Gardens & Arboretum. A must see! We were sad to have to leave and go back home to reality. Thank you so much for sharing your condo with us. Hopefully some day we will be able to come back for another visit. We can already hear the Shores calling us back.

We can not state enough what a wonderful time we had in Maui. A Paradise!!! Our stay at this beautiful condo added greatly to our perfect time. The condo was extremely clean. That is what impressed us the most. The building itself is older as evident in the hallways but the condo itself was updated. Beautiful granite and tile, new appliances. It was so nice to have the washer/dryer in the unit. The view was beautiful. Our kids could not believe their view out the second bedroom window. Also, the beds were very comfortable! The grounds were very nice and well maintained. The only advice I would give is the beach at the condo is very rocky to the right, so stay to the left. If you drive or walk down just one mile south the beach is perfect. Perfect for snorkeling if you are a beginner like we were. Also a great stretch of sandy bottom. Thanks so much for a wonderful and reasonably priced place to stay!!
