Our 2650 square feet single-story Poipu Kai home is located on a quiet cul de sac and is a one-minute walk east to renowned Shipwrecks Beach and its oceanside hiking trail to Mahalepu Beach, and the Grand Hyatt Kauai, its Poipu Bay Golf Course, Anara Spa and fine restaurants, and a five-minute walk west to Brennekes Beach body boarding and Poipu Beach. Safe clean beaches, warm clean water - year round.

Our Poipu Kai Home has an open living, dining and kitchen design, two suites, third bedroom/den and a spacious media room and is furnished with a casual elegance. Comfortable custom furnishings, Hawaiiana artwork, hardwood and slate floors, an excellent audio system - inside and out, and a gourmet kitchen complete with a Viking six-burner gas range and dual ovens, and Sub Zero refrigeration.
The master bedroom suite features a Simmons Beautyrest King bed, fine linens, AC and a stunning bathroom with his and her vanities, a soaking tub and separate shower, custom cabinetry and ceramic tile, lots of towels and a back-up set of bed linens.
The second bedroom suite also features a Simmons Beautyrest King bed, fine linens and a lovely bathroom with a custom shower, vanity and ceramic tile.
The third bedroom is furnished as a den and includes a handsome work space with high speed internet access, as well as a Simmons Beautyrest twin bed for a third sleeping area for one.
The media room features comfortable chairs and ottomans and a 50 inch HD TV, HD channels including HBO, DVR and stereo system. Its inviting window seat looks out onto the large kidney-shaped swimming pool and pool-side lounge chairs, and may be utilized as a fourth sleeping area for one.
The third full bathroom is located off the media room, provides easy access from the pool, and features my favorite shower.
Quiet Hunter ceiling fans throughout.
The outdoor entertainment area includes a dining area and a Weber gas barbecue. The lava rock walls, bamboo fencing, tiki torches, tropical landscaping, and a private outdoor shower completes the outstanding yard.
Massage therapy, grocery shopping and private chef services available.

'We enjoyed a very relaxing week at the Poipu Kai Cottage. The home was lovely and having our own pool was great. I liked getting up early for the easy walk to Shipwrecks Beach. There was a monk seal on the beach nearly every morning. And grabbing a cup of Starbucks coffee on the terrace at the Grand Hyatt was a nice bonus.
We scheduled Joy for massages. She was so wonderful we scheduled another session before we left, and we are still talking about her.
We go to Kauai every year and we are so happy to have found Coastline Cottages, its Poipu Kai Cottage and Joy. Three less details to research!'

About the owner: We at James Design Shoppe have been creating outstanding vacation properties in the Poipu Beach area of beautiful Kauai since 1996.
Why the Owner Chose Private Homes:
We purchased our first property on Kauai in 1980. We soon came to appreciate the fabulous weather of the Poipu Beach area, 'the sunny side of paradise' and have been fans of the Grand Hyatt Kauai since it opened in 1991. We purchased our Poipu Kai home in 2005 because of its close proximity to 1) the Grand Hyatt Kauai and its wonderful restaurants and Anara Spa and 2)spectacular Shipwrecks Beach and its surf break and hiking trails. We remodeled the 2650 sf single-level concrete home, adding a swimming pool, lush tropical landscaping and an outdoor dining area complete with a Weber gas BBQ. We created an open living, dining and gourmet kitchen area, two outstanding suites, den and media room, and furnished the home with our signature Simmons Beautyrest king beds and fine linens, custom furnishings and fun artwork.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We love to relax by the swimming pool to the soothing sound of the surf. We enjoy cooking in the beautiful kitchen with a favorite wine, our tunes playing from the home's superior audio system. After dinner it's wonderful to stroll along Poipu Kai Resort's manicured, well-lit walkway over to the Hyatt's Stevensons Library for an after-dinner drink and listen to live jazz or grab beach towels and lay on Shipwrecks Beach and admire the stars. The starry nights are incredible here. A definite bonus!
