Morritts Grand, East End Grand Cayman, Oceanfront Condo
- Minimum stay:7 nights
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:No
The 3 Grand buildings are the newest of the Morritts group. With AC you rarely use, ceiling fans, a full kitchen with large frig and dishwasher. We usually eat in several times, though most people eat out more. Buy groceries (or not), and eat on the lovely patio. We watch sunsets every night. There is a flat screen TV in the bedroom and in the great room, and the bath room has a jacuzzi.
Some of the amenities at the Morritts Grand: a large pool/bar right at the Grand, 2 other pools, one with bar; dive operation with 2 boats on the walls and reefs of Grand Cayman's east end, windsurfing operation, wave runners, sailboats, snorkel equipment, gourmet restaurant, exercise room, social programs for children & adults, and Mimi's in-water dock with bar (the only one on the island).
This is a one bedroom, one bath, sleeps four unit with king-size bed, living area with queen sofa bed, kitchen, dining area, and veranda onto the ocean. This is not one of those million unit resorts, so you can get to Reception in two minutes, the water's edge in one minute (depending on which floor), and snorkeling in the same (but get your fins on!) Snorkeling is great right at the beach or under the dock! The water sports are all right on the beach, or go to Rum Point for a change. Kayaking is available there as well.
New in the recent past: a small grocery store and other shops across the street. (Very large grocery stores are in town or en route to the resort.) Temperatures are always in the mid-80''s with a constant breeze. Grand Cayman is a British island, so the language is English. Currency is Cayman dollar, although there is little need to exchange.
Full kitchen facilities allow you to eat in, and then eat out and splurge! This can be a romantic vacation, and/or one with lots of kid-friendly activities. You can follow the lead of the resort's social 'programme', or go it by yourselves. A gourmet restaurant (Ivan's) is on-site, as well others in the as the East End, the North side, in town, and on Seven Mile Beach. And now there is Mimi's bar on the dock.
Boat dive, shore dive, or windsurf. Explore 'unofficial beaches' along the East End, get to Sting Ray City, and Rum Point. Wander Georgetown and Seven Mile Beach as well.
The dock has its resident parrot fish and tarpin, and the turquoise beach is right there. The dive boats come to the dock, so no need to haul gear, and there are lockers for your personal dive/snorkel stuff. The resort has listed activities for children and adults each day and night, so you can take advantage - or do 'none of the above'.
This is a one-week timeshare rental that was originally advertised for a March week. If you desire a particular week, please send an inquiry and I will in turn have to ask about availability with the Florida agency that arranges things at the Morritts Grand. Apologies for the tentativeness of the dates.
If you enjoy the more quiet side of things, with access to the bustle if you want it, the Morritts Grand on the East End is the spot on Grand Cayman. The Morritts has organized things to do....or you can do it all on your own....including doing nothing but relaxing on the white sandy beach.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1993
About the owner: I am a retired school psychologist, now a distributor for Market America/shop.com. Larry is a retired civil engineer...a crazy combination~I dive, and have been going down to the Morritts since I bought in 1993, with only three exceptions. This year, I want to go somewhere else, this one time, and dive another island. As much as I love the diving from here, I I may not be diving that much longer, so I will dive somewhere else this one last time. Then back to what has become my home away from home...Rhode Island and Grand Cayman.
Why the Owner Chose East End:
I wanted a place with no language issue, friendly people, and foremost great beach, diving, and snorkeling. I found it and bought it - 20 years ago. I have been going ever since.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
I like to go somewhere where I do not have to eat out every night. The Grand lets me cook in a very normal, pleasant kitchen (with dishwasher!), use an elevator with my dive gear (I use to walk up stairs at the Morritts poolside), and have a patio I simply adore! We live on the water in RI, and watch sunsets from our deck; therefore, we are sunset experts! From the Grand, they are fantastic~
