The bedroom is spacious and inviting with stream, pasture and mountain views and its own private lanai. With doors and windows on three sides, the room stays cool and comfortable even on the warmest tropical days. The King bed is comfortable and lavishly adorned.
The tile bathroom is well ventilated and includes a shower/tub, towels and paper products. The Wailua Hideaway features a private laundry room for your convenience as well as all linens, beach towels and laundry soap.

Standing at approximately 120 feet, Secret Falls is a sight to be seen and the perfect backdrop for Picnics, photos and fun!
Or, if you'd prefer, you can see the Wailua River by motorized boat. Several tour companies offer hourly tours up the Wailua River to the famous Fern Grotto. Tours include Hawaiian entertainment by local musicians and hula dancers.

Mere words and photos do not do justice to this perfect sanctuary! When planning our fourth visit to Kauai, we knew precisely where we would stay- David and Lynda's. No question about it! Their gorgeous property is close to every scenic wonder and delightful activity the Island has to offer. What makes the Hideaway an ideal choice is the serenity it provides after a long, busy day. Our 6 year old grandson joined us this year and he thought that having "a river in my backyard" was as good as it gets. There is no doubt that the Wailua Hideaway will be our home again and again, each time we visit Kauai. David and Lynda are brilliant hosts! You just gotta love them and their gem, the Wailua Hideaway. Absolutely beautiful!

We especially enjoyed watching them fish in the stream, and then seeing the huge smile on Riley's face when he would reel in his catch of the day. We'll be looking forward to their next visit.

We loved staying along the river and getting to see a different part of Kauai during part of our vacation. The owners have the unit well stocked with all vacation-related needs, like towels and beach gear. There are great hikes in the area, and we loved visiting the close-by Hindu Monastary (gorgeous!).
Owner response:It was a real treat having Kristine & Tag as guests. We learned a great deal from Tag, who is a marine biologist. He was studying an endangered species of turtle found only in the stream behind our home. Each turtle caught would be tagged and then returned to the stream for further study on future trips.

"Wailua Hideaway is a special country retreat with all the comforts of home. Artfull decor and views from the private lanai make this a wonderful place to relax all day, or come home to after exploring the island. Hosts David and Lynda are most gracious and accommodating. If you are looking for that cozy getaway, this is it!"
