Our cabin is located on 3 acres on the wide banks of clear, rushing Mountaintown Creek. Mountaintown is called a creek, but since it is 20-30 feet wide and 2-4 feet deep in the middle, it is more like a small river. Wake up to the peaceful sounds of nature -water rushing and birds singing. This is a great place for a family vacation, with plenty to do for everyone both at the cabin and in the area nearby.

Want to get away from the office for a few days to unwind? Does the family want to get away from it all, but still stay connected to the outside world? Now that we have wireless high speed internet in our Ellijay cabins, just bring your laptop and get work done in the tranquil setting of nature, keep in touch with friends, etc.

The cabin is beautiful in all seasons:

SUMMER: Take a break from the heat and read a book next to the rushing water. It is always pleasant and cool there. Children love to build dams with the rocks, fish, swim, and float gently down the creek.

FALL: Enjoy the spectacular fall foliage from the back deck of the cabin or take a ride on the nearby Scenic Blue Ridge Railway for even more views. Visit the local apple orchards and sample their various types of apples, pies and fritters. Gilmer County is known as the apple capital of the world.

WINTER: Relax in the hot tub and take in the tranquil sight and sound of cascading water. Build a fire in the fire pit down by the water in the evenings and roast marshmallows and hot dogs.

SPRING: Enjoy the beauty of the flowering trees in bloom. The snow-white flowers of the Dogwood trees scattered throughout the woods around the cabin are amazing. You may even see deer with their new fawns close by.

This feels like a riverfront cabin, but the creek is the perfect size for children to play in. The cabin is located on 3 acres, just 50 ft. from the creek. There is no access road between the cabin and water -just you and nature. The cabin is a spacious three bedroom/three bath, with each bedroom/bath on its own floor, and each bedroom opening to a deck through French doors. Go to sleep on top quality pillow top mattresses, and wake up to the view of nature surrounding you. You can cook in our fully stocked kitchen or use the charcoal BBQ grill on the porch and eat outside on the picnic table.

  • We stayed for three days and this was a very relaxing and beautiful place. The cabin,river and mountains were great to look at. Also the cabin was very clean and nice. Just needed more furniture and tvs.Over all great place to stay.
