Family Wedding

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the "The Bears Lair". The only thing that would have been better is if our schedules allowed us to stay longer. The home is beautiful and VERY spacious, true to the posted pictures. It was wonderful to be able to spend time with my family, but also to have the option for some solidarity. I also liked the fact that there were books for us to read to my grandson and a CD player so he could dance to his music. Sherrie couldn't have been more prompt or any nicer with our dealings. Making sure we had directions to "The Bears Lair", arrived safely and that everything was in order with the house. I felt as if I was talking with a friend. I would recommend this property for rental. It has everything you need: totally outfitted kitchen, lots of room, a peaceful deck in a tranquil mountain setting, and yet just a short drive to casinos or big cities. Thank you once again for sharing your home and little piece of heaven with us.

February Vacation in Winter Wonderland

Guest: margo (Chicago)
Date of Stay: 02/21/12 Review Submitted: 02/28/12

This home is convenient to Denver but remote enough that you really feel away from the grind. We had different people joining and leaving our group at different times, so an extra trip to DIA was necessary but not cumbersome. There is a huge kitchen with all the amenities abutting a great room with a fireplace, perfect for a large gathering. It was exceptionally clean and well cared for. There is a big washer and dryer that came in handy. We went skiing at Breckenridge, snow-shoeing at Brainard Lake and sledding. Next time we plan to try snow-mobiling. There is something for everyone here and at night you can almost touch the stars, which alone made the trip worthwhile.

Description and fotos are accurate. House is clean and very organized. Owner provides all info that you could possibly need and more. Also very responsive if called for any reason. I spent one day skiing at Eudora resort; beautiful place and only 20 minutes from the house. I spent another day visiting Winter Park City and rode snowmobile for the first time in my life with Great Adventrues. You feel like you are in Europe due to the charming archtecture of Winter Park. The Snowmobile was UNFORGETTABLE I suggest it to everyone. Don't worry with age, there were people fat and close to their 70's doing it in my group. They all loved it. I spent another day at the Rocky Mountain National Park. It was also fantastic. The house is fully equipped and you really don't need to bring anything. There are video games, board games, pool table, etc. Thanks for the great time!!!

July stay

We had the chance to stay at this property again....this time we had a family reunion. There were 11 of us; and we had lots of room. We enjoyed the activities at Golden Gate Park, Rocky Mountain National Park, Ft. Collins for brew tours....we never ran out of things to do. We would love to come back sometime in the fall.....I can just imagine how beautiful the Aspens are. The pictures on the website don't do this property justice...you must see if for yourself...thanks Jim and Sherri for all your help.

Summer Getaway

Guest: Cathy (Lees Summit, MO)
Date of Stay: 07/07/11 Review Submitted: 07/13/11

We had a great time. The house was the perfect size for us. We had 5 17 yr old boys and no one had to share a bed. The guys had the down stairs and the adults had the upstairs. We loved the smell of the trees. The house was great and Sherri was great and always available when I called with questions. My tip would be if trying to find it at night, please ask to have the porch light on. We got lost late at night and it was pouring down rain no less, but Sherri and her husband guided us there without any problems. The house is way out, so if you are arriving late, be sure you stock up at the store before arriving as it's away from a store or anything really. Luckily we had things with us from stocking up in Colorado Springs earlier. We really enjoyed ourselves and we would recommend it to others. The 9 of us fit perfectly and enjoyed celebrating two birthdays there too! Thanks Sherri for all your help. Maybe we will see you again next year!

Great house in scenic area an hour from Boulder

Guest: Patrick (SC)
Date of Stay: 08/06/10 Review Submitted: 08/16/10

The house was perfect for us-- with 6 adults and 5 kids I was curious to see how everyone would fit, and there was more than ample room for sleeping and hanging out-- with some room to spare, too. The giant back deck is awesome for meals, relaxing, watching the sunrise, and there's plenty of hummingbird activity. We couldn't have hoped for more.

Our family had a great time and really enjoyed your home. I can't think of a thing I would do differently. The younger generation enjoyed the games downstairs and there was so much room upstairs for the extended family to gather. The house is hard to find after dark, but the directions worked when you could see the signs! Great house --great location!

What a nice home!! We had a relaxing comfortable stay. We hit one of the best weekends to see the colors turning in the trees. I caught some fish from one of the State Park ponds nearby. This is truely a mountain paradise. We will book again.

We enjoyed a memorable Christmas at this wonderful house. We went skiing at Copper Mountain and had memorable hikes and runs at Golden Gate Canyon State Park. We will return to this house again and again.

I am so glad we decided to stay at the "Bears Lair". We were able to relax and enjoy the beautiful mountians while dining out on the back deck. My family was able to enjoy a gorgeous horseback ride through the Rocky Mountains and fish in crystal clear waters. It is heaven on earth and I intend to book your beautiful home again next year.

I was fortunate to escape the hot Arizona weather and spend a week here in the cool mountains of Colorado. I love sitting on the patio in the morning with my cup of coffee and in the evening with a glass of wine - watching the hummingbirds and listening to the sound the breeze makes as it passes thru the aspen trees. It was a great place to get away from my hectic life and relax with all the comforts of home – and then some. There are many things in the area to do – way too much for a week. I can not wait to go back!

We had the opportunity to stay at this property this summer. What a beautiful location. The property is very quiet, and has a wonderful kitchen that is "entertaining friendly". The deer, hummingbirds are a wonderful thing to watch while drinking coffee on the deck. The pines, and the coolness of the evening is a great for a summer retreat. I would recommend this property to anyone who would "like to get away from the city" but while also having access to all what the city offers you once you get "down the hill". Enjoy!
