DeFelice Villa is a "Green Development" on 3 lake front acres on Lake Norman. We have 2 piers, a beautiful beach and several boat docks.
We offer a "Big Ol" Lake Cottage that has 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms on 3 levels. There is a huge Rec Room on the lowest level with a big bar, a big screen TV and big 2 mile views of the lake. On the middle level, the Great Room has another big screen TV along with dining area and very relaxing facilities also overlooking the lake. Up a spiral staircase takes you to the Master Suite. It has a bar, a private bath and Sauna, walk in closet, walk out porch over looking the lake.
LAKE NORMAN, 'THE INLAND SEA', AT 32,500 ACRES AND 520 MILES OF SHORELINE, IS THE LARGEST LAKE IN NORTH CAROLINA. IT IS HOME TO MANY NASCAR DRIVERS AND OWNERS INCLUDING JOE GIBBS, THE WASHINGTON REDSKINS COACH. IT NEVER FREEZES OVER SO BOATING AND FISHING ARE YEAR ROUND ACITVITIES. IN FACT, THE BIGGEST FISH, STRIPED BASS RUNNING TO FORTY POUNDS ARE CAUGHT IN JANUARY. GOLF IS YEAR ROUND HERE, TOO. THERE ARE SIX COURSES NEARBY RANGING FROM PUBLIC LINKS WHERE SENIORS CAN PLAY WEEKDAYS FOR $25 INCLUDING CART TO EXCLUSIVE COUNTRY CLUBS WHERE PGA EVENTS ARE HELD. ABOUT US
We both finished high school in 1950; Frank in Lexington, and Ellie in Concord (MA), and we were married that year.
Our first home was on Cape Cod where we lived year-round for five years. We moved to East Lansing, Michigan, where Frank attended the Honors College at Michigan State University, earning a BA magna cum laude. During the summers, however, we returned to Cape Cod while Frank attended Michigan State and UNC-Chapel Hill. At UNC, Frank earned an MBA and a Ph.D. in Economics.
Since Dr. DeFelice's studies at Chapel Hill, we have resided in North Carolina in Charlotte and Lake Norman, which is our principal residence. However, during April through October, we live in Linville, in the mountains of North Carolina. From October to April, we live in a park model trailer at Rainbow Resort near Frostproof, FL.
We have three children (Frank P., our oldest, died of lung cancer in 2008), four grandchildren, two step grandchildren in the Marine Corps...Semper Fi, and one great-grandchild.
Dr. DeFelice's professional qualifications include recognition by the American Association of Collegiate Schools of Business as having the highest qualifications obtainable in both Economics and Finance; he was awarded NDEA, FORD and NSF Fellowships; did post-doctoral work in Econometrics at Duke and in Computer Science at Colorado.
Dr. DeFelice is a published author, with tutalage from the great Henry Latané. Dr. DeFelice's articles have been published in THE JOURNAL OF FINANCE, THE ECONOMICS JOURNAL(Cambridge, England), THE WALL STREET JOURNAL, and other periodicals. He also authored A PRIMER OF BUSINESS FINANCE.
Dr. DeFelice was an SEC Registered Broker/Dealer, Investment Advisor and an NASD Registered Principal. He does have limited time available for consulting @ $18.63/minute (the same rate as the lawyers sorting out Lehman Bros. bankruptcy earn). You can always submit questions in advance.
