NEW FOR 2008! Ikena Kai has been renovated. Ikena Kai was re-painted with a sublime color scheme prepared by world renowned San Francisco color specialist Jill Pilarosca. New lighting was installed in the living room and dining area. A new counter-top was installed in the kitchen. All major kitchen appliances were replaced. New window coverings were installed in all rooms. New Asian/Island inspired furniture has been installed from Room & Board. Ikena Kai has always been maintained to the highest standards of comfort and cleanliness. This renovation indicates our continued commitment to quality. We had a wonderful time staying in this newly renovated condo. We booked last minute and the transaction was so smooth! The renovations the owner made were great. The condo looks just like it does in the photos. The view is incredible!! We will definitely stay here again, but next time will bring better mosquito spray. We found out at the end of our vacation that this is typical in the Hanalei area during the winter months. Would give this condo an excellent but there is no BBQ. This place would be even more fabulous if the complex put in an area with a couple of gas BBQs just like our favorite place (Sugar Beach Resort) in Kiehi, HI. Also, we had to buy beach chairs at Costco, but were able to check them on the plane, so no loss.
Owner response:Thank you very much for your review, Kirsten. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. Please note that the Hawaii Fire Department prohibits BBQs in all condos at Pali Ke Kua. We don't have a BBQ because it's prohibited by law, and if we were to have a BBQ we'd face sanctions from both the Fire Department and the PKK Condo Association. This is true for all units in Pali Ke Kua. I'm glad you appreciated the work we've done to renovate and maintain the condo itself.
