Owner Description

If you are looking for a restful spot with easy access to the Mississippi Gulf Coast many activities, this is the Spot! I have found the city of Moss Point a place where you can rest and enjoy the Pacagoula and Escatawpa river by boat or at the Water Front Boardwalk. The city offers many dining establishments, some even overlooking the river. Easy access to the numerous activities and local festivals up and down the Mississippi Rivera. Then you can retire to a restful night at Lone Oak cottage.

Why the Owner Chose Moss Point

The Beautiful River City of Moss Point is the reason we own a Bed and Breakfast here. What a sight coming over the Escatawpa River Bridge in the morning looking out at the river with the morning sun shining. The marsh grass changing with the seasons. The migratory birds heading through our area. What a treat to see a eagle, osprey or a swallow tail kite soaring above. Kayaking in the waters or casting a line in hopes of fresh fish for supper. The Mississippi Coast is easily assessible by interstate or highway for day trips and more. What a secret we have in Moss Point!

The Unique Benefits of this Cottage

Great for a short stay for visiting our Mississippi Gulf Coast area. It has easy access to he major roadways. It is also great for a longer stay for guests who work in the area industries. It is within 10-20 minutes to any water, be it the Pascagoula River or the Escatawpa River, where you may explore with the McCoys River Tours or Eco-Tours. Or the Mississippi Gulf Coast Beaches From Pascagoula to Bay St. Louis. Also we have the Gulf Island Seashore which is reachable by boat. The Islands are great to explore and tour the Fort on Ship Island and spend the day on the surfside. Plenty of Golf Courses to get in a round or more during your stay. Dont't forget shopping - either for gifts, antiques, pottery, art and more. Festivals are every weekend on the coast so check those out too. Local food includes lots of seafood prepared numerous ways. Saltwater and freshwater fishing can be arranged also. Historical sites and museums abound along the coast of Mississippi. Include a trip to Mobile,AL and New Orleans, LA, a short drive away.

Cottage in Moss Point

Cozy, warm cottage with plenty of supplies i.e. bedding, towels, etc. The only thing I would change at the cottage is mounting a flat screen TV in the living room and possibly a table and chairs in the dining room. In the evenings we like to play cards, games, etc. which was difficult with the bar. Thanks for a great place to stay.

Owner response:Thank You for the review- will consider those updates. glad you had a great visit with your family! Laurie

Laurie, WE all enjoyed our visit to Moss Point area. We visited with many cousins, and "Grandma" certainly enjoyed the evening when we made a simple supper at "home" and invited folks to join us. Lucky, I guess, we had 13 cousins visit us that evening. We also had some fun rescuing conchs from the beach, playing slot in Biloxi, and petting gators. It's great to be home again, but we certainly did enjoy the trip! The LONE OAK was comfortable, convenient, and pleasant...all agreed. If we make the trip again, it will be where we stay! Love, Mary

Really nice place to stay. Cozy and quiet, but not cramped. It's off the beaten path but close enough to everything there is to do on the Mississippi gulf coast. Laurie's a gem to deal with.

Owner response:So glad you and your family had a great visit to the coast!

This was an absolutely perfect place to stay on our vacation! It was a lovely cottage, with plenty of room for my husband and myself and our 3 kids. It is very close (walking distance) to a awesome fishing pier, and within easy travel to a farmers market with fresh seasonal produce and a wal-mart for everything else!. We did several fishng charters out of Biloxi (20 min drive) and did the ship island excursions. Plenty to see and do. It was a real treat to be able to come back each evening to a well set up and thought out cottage. Everything you need, all you have to bring is clothes! We will definately book again!

Owner response:Thank You Polly! see you and your family next summer. Laurie
