This home is PERFECT!

Date of Stay: 04/22/12 Review Submitted: 04/30/12

This lovely home was absolutely PERFECT for my entire family as we spent a week in Colorado Springs our sons wedding. We were able to have all our kids come from the four corners of the country and have us all together for the entire week. The home is well equipped and large in size. We never felt crowded and each had our own space. The TV, Computer, and Hot Tub were well used! We were able to prepare, cook, and grill to our hearts content. I would highly recommend this beautiful and warm home to anyone, especially for a family. The owners, Jason and Andrea were very helpful, sent me all the information I needed and made me feel like we were family. If you stay in this wonderful home I guarantee you will have a fabulous stay!

This house was much more than we expected! It was absolutely great! It was clean and everything that we needed was there. All the information that we needed was readily available and the renters were extremely nice. The neighborhood the house is located in was close to everything. We are definetly planning on visiting again and I don't think we could have made better plans than staying at this house!

The listing descption was very accurate. The photos of this property are accurate. The owner of this property was very helpful and nice. I would recommend this property to anyone who is looking for a relaxing setting with all the conviences of home and more. This home is within walking distance from town for shopping and restaurants. My family and I arrived at this beautiful home after a day of traveling from europe. My parents traveled from across the country and met us there. We where all able to relax and unwind in this inviting home and enjoy each others company. It is big enough for everone to have there own bedroom. It was also very nice to have a fully fuctional kitchen with all the utinsils too. It was very cost effective to be able to cook instead of eating out every day. And at the end of the day we could relax in the hot tub on the deck and enjoy the views of the mountains.

Home very nice but not well equipped

Guest: Susan (Colorado)
Date of Stay: 12/01/11 Review Submitted: 03/18/12

The house was very nice and was mostly well maintained. The stove would not light unless I used a lighter and the owner did not tell me about that in advance. There was no lighter available to light it. I only found a small matchbook and had to light paper towels to light the stove. The kitchen was not very well equipped for making meals, especially in regards to cooking pans. There was just one roll of toilet paper provided in one of the bathrooms and no paper towels. Normally, those are provided in rentals and sometimes there are additional supplies such as foil, plastic wrap, plastic containers and bags for storage. I would recommend this house but would let my friends be aware of the "shortcomings" as I saw them. As a renter, you have to bring or purchase a lot of supplies that you may use in just a very small quantity but could be very expensive. If traveling by air, you will just need to leave those supplies. It would have been nice if these had been provided.

Owner response:We wanted to take a moment to respond to this review. We had sent this guest an advisory about the stove not working properly and instructions on how to light it prior to their stay. This was stated in bold letters in a note to them, however it appears they didn't see this in the paperwork we sent. Sears had the lighter part that had failed on backorder and the problem was resolved shortly after this guest's stay. As for the kitchen being equipped, we provide silverware, dishes, pots, pans, dish washing detergent, kitchen towels and commonly used appliances. We occasionally purchase additional pots and pans due to use over time. We are not accustomed to purchasing foil, plastic wrap, plastic containers and bags. If you do plan to use these types of items, some may be left over from other guests or you can purchase from a store nearby. Toilet paper is provided for the entire home, if there is ever a shortage, we can have our cleaning crew address immediately. We are always seeking ways to improve the property and are open to honest feedback. If you have any questions about these types of things, please don't hesitate to contact us and we can share our thoughts. Thanks. :) - Jason and Andrea

Great Location, Excellent stay!

We came to the Spring for a family wedding at the Air Force Academy, and decided to stay a few extra days to enjoy the other great attractions of the area. The house was perfect. We had 7 adults and our 1 year old staying in the house and it worked wonderful for what we needed! There was plenty of room for everyone to move around. Three bathrooms for everyone to shower and get ready for the day, and we all had hot water! Jason's Cedar House is absolutely perfect whether you just need a place to sleep, or are looking for somewhere to stay that allows you to have gatherings. The kitchen was wonderful to have for meals. We definitely saved money by eating in when we could. Renting a house beats a hotel room anytime, and this was no exception. Thanks Jason!

A Step Back in Time!

Date of Stay: 04/16/11 Review Submitted: 05/21/11

Staying in Cedar House was a very unique experience for my husband and me! We lived in this house in 1968 and 1969 when my husband was stationed at Fort Carson. It was our first home together as newlyweds, and later our daughter was born at the hospital on base. At the time, the house was divided into 5 apartments but now it is a gorgeously renovated single family home with plenty of room for a large group of people! (Our entire apartment was the current kitchen and dining area!) Cedar House is huge and well equipped. The original hardwood floors are beautifully refinished. There are lovely, wraparound porches and three full bathrooms. It was very convenient to have a large washer and dryer, too. The location is fantastic - very close to many scenic attractions. The rent is quite reasonable, too, for such a big house. The landlord Jason is very friendly and extremely kind. If you are planning a trip to Colorado Springs, I highly recommend this property! You will not be disappointed! We enjoyed reliving old memories - but you can make new ones!

Our family of 10 stayed here the week of June 22. The house was great, lots of room! Really nice to have a computer to look up all the attractions, etc. When we show our pictures everyone comments on how nice and large the house is. We made friends with some of the squirrels in the neighborhood too! We had a great time and made lots of memories. We went to Pikes Peak, Rafting, Mollie Kathleen Gold Mine, The Airforce Academy, Royal Gorge Railroad, Coors Field, Castle Rock Outlet Mall. We did alot in 7 days. We were able to do all this because the house is located in such a convenient place, close to everything. We would definitely stay here again. Jason was exceptionally nice and helpful. Colorado is beautiful. We loved it!

Comment Text: We recently stayed in this wonderful home for 6 nights. This house is just like a home away from home! We filled the rooms for a very special family reunion time with our children. Our son is in the Air Force and stationed in Colorado Springs, and we were all able to visit our first grandson who was only a week old when we arrived. The house was perfect for us all to gather in, have family dinners together and just relax and enjoy each other. The bedrooms are private, quiet and comfortable. There are enough bathrooms for everyone, you never have to stand in line! The washer and dryer are so convenient and make it so you don't have to over pack. The kitchen is wonderful, fully equipped and big enough for a whole family to work in. The dining table is huge and great for family dinners and game nights! The living room and the big TV are perfect for an evening of movie entertainment,(or so you don't miss American Idol!) and Jason even has a laptop and the internet at your disposable so you can keep up with your emails and have an instant reference as to where to find things in Colorado. We visited in February, and we were able to cook steaks on the outside gas grills and be in the hot tub! It was wonderful as we are from Western NY where February means nothing but very cold temperatures and lots of snow...so it was almost like a beach vacation for us! There are so many amenities in the house that make it so comfortable. When you can stay all together in a house rather than a hotel room for the same price, it's the way to go! Jason is so easy to work with and makes the whole transaction so simple, and he is as far away as a phone call if you need anything. If we ever need a place to stay in Colorado again, this is where we will go...if it's available! Thank you Jason for such a wonderful family time, and such a wonderful house. We will be back!!

We had a wonderful time at your victorian home! we were there for a wedding and family reunion. We used all the bedrooms and found accomodations very adequate. We gathered from parts of the world and USA--Maylasia, Germany, Oregon, Virginia, Oklahoma, Arkansas. It was a houseful of laughter and happiness. We were so thankful to be able to all be together rather than being spread out all over in motel rooms. It was a great time and by the way a beautiful wedding. Jason was very quick to address the few minor issues that came up Thanks again, we would love to stay there again M. Moffitt

Our stay at the home was wonderful, we loved the hot tub - and the house was well stocked with everything that we needed to feel at home. The kids loved having space to play, and we loved the large TV in the living room. We will definitely be back!

We stayed 5 nights in September in this house in Colorado Springs, we be out and about during the day, but we enjoyed being around the house at night and just brought in food and relaxed in front of the t.v. The house was very nice and loved being able to keep up on laundry and Jason was very easy to work with if anything went wrong while we were there. Would definately stay again and would recommend to others.

I stayed here with my family recently for a friend's wedding, and we had a wonderful experience. The house is quite roomy with enough space to enjoy family meals, entertainment on the big screen, and a good night's rest (in the Cal King sized bed!) The house is situated on the corner of a busy street and a quiet street, but the private area with the hot tub, grills, and firepit are all located in the back of the house, so we felt removed from the traffic. I think the kitchen was my favorite part of the whole house because it was large enough for people to gather in while meals were being prepared. Two thumbs up!

We recently stayed at this home and absolutely fell in love with it. The owner was very accommodating to our needs - we have a special needs child. We were in town for a reunion and ended up staying for 6 days. We were within close proximity of all of the Springs attractions - Garden of the Gods, the Academy etc. Very easy to get around and find things to do - the house is within a minute or two of downtown. Overall the stay was pleasant. Great accommodations, unique home, great character and spacious. The bigscreen tv was nice to have, my husband loves to watch sports. We used the Jacuzzi a few times while there which was nice and relaxing. The yard isn't fenced but we don't have any pets so that wasn't really a problem. If you have small kids you may just want to keep an eye on them if in the yard. The kitchen was easy to prepare meals in and has all the dishware and silverware needed, pots pans etc. The double oven is wonderful for cooking in. It has a convection setting and warming oven which makes life easier around meals. Next time we are in the Springs we will definitely stay here. Can't beat the price for the type of accommodations that are available. We would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay near to downtown looking for an affordable, nice place to stay. :)
