Enjoy a glorious setting with private beach, pier and sweeping views. Quiet, private grounds on beautiful Sugar Pine Point are the setting for historic early 1900’s May ah Mee Lodge.
The stone owner’s cabin, originally part of the Old May ah Mee Lodge that hosted Aimee Semple Mc Pherson and numerous other luminaries in the teens and 1920s, is the core of the new May ah Mee.
A lovely home with spectacular dawn to dark views from every room, two stone fireplaces and many secluded spaces to capture private moments, it offers unique ambiance blending Old Tahoe style with up to date comforts. Three decks expand spacious easy living.
A large private pier and buoy make boating easy and convenient. When the lake level is low, a sandy beach extends your area for playing and conversing. Enjoy a BBQ on the lakeside rock patio.
Wonderful for family gatherings, this house is for discerning guests who will appreciate the historic charm of the home. The “new ”May ah Mee is was built less than a decade ago with state of the art heating, insulation, and electronic amenities. The house is fully equipped for gracious living. The property is accessed via a quiet road off the main road.
It is an easy amble to the country store with its great deli, groceries & wine selection. You’ll find a pizzeria, coffee bar, post office, video shop, kayak rentals & two great restaurants within walking distance.
Hike and bike on trails leading to Sugar Pine Point and Emerald Bay State Parks with beaches, and national forest, Desolation Wilderness. A meandering paved bike path makes its way along the shore to Tahoe City, down the Truckee River all the way to Squaw Valley.
Remarks from our guests:
--“Thank you for sharing your special slice of heaven with us. We enjoyed hiking, boating and relaxing with special friends! We feel blessed to have spent quality time with people we care about in this beautiful place.
We will miss the spectacular sunsets and relaxing on the pier—not to mention the great meals together. My son tremendously enjoyed “treasure hunting” on the beach and catching fish and crawdads.
We can hardly wait to come back….”
---“Today we go home. I love the sunrise on the pier. It is so quiet and beautiful. When I need to relax in the future, I will think back to this place and time.”
“I am sitting here in the kitchen looking over the water and at the mountains thinking how fortunate I am to be in such a wonderful place. I must bring my watercolor friends here when I return”
…” Our group had a wonderful fall quilting week here. We eight friends have quilted, laughed and cried together this week. The beautiful surroundings are an inspiration for our design work. The house is warm and welcome and spacious enough to spread out our sewing.
Thank you for a week of immersion in beauty and friendship…”
