This is one of the most beautiful and comfortable houses in the entire Taos area, and in an ideal location besides. Located on the North side of town, the asmosphere is one of peace and quiet. Perfect for hiking, rafting or just enjoying the cool mountain air, you'll gaze out the window and see the same breathtaking mountain view that the original Taos Indians saw, which persuaded them to make their home here more than 1,000 years ago. If you enjoy being in nature, watching birds and being surrounded by beautiful flowers, we have that in abundance. Our gardens are delightful; our birds cheerful and plentiful.
The setting of the house provides remarkable beauty, including enchanting mountain views from almost every window, along with beautiful gardens to nourish your soul. The house has an east/west orientation for optimal views. At breakfast, you'll be treated to a spectacular sunrise over the Sangre de Cristo Mountain range. In the evenings, our west-facing windows treat you to a fiery sunset.
Depending on the options you select, the house comfortably accommodates 1 to 14 people. You can configure the rental so you occupy anywhere from 550 sq. ft. of the house to almost 3,000 sq. ft., with the price varying accordingly. (We do not normally rent out the apartment when the house is rented separately.)
Because of our excellent insulation and high altitude, the house is cool in the summer and delightful year round.
The Master Bedroom Suite (550-square-feet) is a joy. Intimate seating area with two comfy chairs and an LCD TV (with satellite). Traditional kiva fireplace. French doors open to the hot tub and sauna. Delightfully comfortable queen pillowtop bed. All bed linens are 400+ thread count. Attached bath has a Jacuzzi and oversized shower. (See below for the Master-Bedroom-Only money-saving option.)
The house includes a lovely and spacious guest suite with a new queen pillowtop bed. It has a large bay window overlooking the gardens on the west side of the house. An attached bath has a wonderful, large European-style tiled shower room.
Each bedroom in the house has its own French doors for great views and easy access to the west deck, hot tub, and sauna. On the deck, you'll soak away the exertions of the day as you watch a spectacular sunset, followed by the brilliant night sky of Taos.
The gourmet kitchen is large and well-furnished and can accommodate several chefs at the same time. Every small appliance you might need is available. Toaster oven, coffee mill, popcorn poppers, large and small Cuisinart, Calphalon pots and pans. Spices, oils, and vinegars are provided.
The dining room table can expand to comfortably seat 12 when needed. Table linens are provided.
The spacious living room has two large, beautiful and comfortable down-stuffed sofas and down-stuffed club chair, as well as a down love seat. A wall of windows gives you a beautiful view of the Sangre de Cristo Mountain range. This is a house that brings the outdoors in and pleasure to the soul.
The house has wireless access for your laptop. The stereo system in the living room has an attached wire for your MP3 player to connect to the system.
The North Room (16x18) is available for additional sleeping accommodations at an extra charge. It has two twin beds (can make into king bed), with a high rise air mattress available. Ideal as a sleeping room and playroom for children, the North Room is located at the opposite end of the house from the bedrooms and has its own entrance to the outside. This room is available only with the rental of the main house.
Also available is a charming downstairs apartment of about 700 sq. ft., which sleeps up to six. It can be rented separately, or with the house. (If you rent the house without the apartment, we leave the apartment vacant for your privacy.) The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen (no dishwasher), two bedrooms (queen and double beds), living room with a queen sofa bed, and a spacious bath. It is tastefully and comfortably decorated and has satellite TV. Wireless Internet access is available. A private entrance exits to the patio and there is an optional entrance into the house.
We also have a portacrib and a booster seat available for babies if needed.
The Beautiful House is perfect for your family get-together. When you take the apartment in addition to the house, the two kitchens and two living rooms, in addition to the sitting area in the master bedroom, provide ample comfortable space for together time and separate time. In total, the Beautiful House, North Room and apartment can accommodate 12-14 people.
Special Offer: If you don't need the kitchen, we sometimes rent the luxurious, 500-sq.-ft. Master Bedroom Suite by itself. A garden path leads to French doors on the deck and your own private entry to the Master Bedroom Suite. There you'll find a delightfully comfortable bed and a lovely sitting area with two comfy chairs, an LCD TV, and fireplace. The attached bath has an oversized shower and Jacuzzi tub. The French doors take you to the sauna and hot tub on the deck. If this arrangement suits your needs, inquire about the price. Exclusive use of the hot tub and sauna are included in this special offer. (If you opt for the Master Bedroom Suite only, the owners may or may not be in the main house during your stay. When we discuss the rental with you, we'll let you know what our plans are for your dates so you can make an informed choice. If we are in the house, you'll still have your own private entrance and exclusive use of the hot tub and sauna.)
