The Bittern Lodge of Sunriver is nestled in the northwest end of the Sunriver resort community near the Benham and Dillon Falls trails. It is a lavish lodge-style 5300-square-foot two-story home, built in 2006, featuring 8 bedrooms each with their own private bathroom, a great room, a game room and a large dining room with a gourmet kitchen. Bittern Lodge is perfect for family and friend reunions and corporate business and church retreats. The lodge is also pet friendly.
The extravagant great room, dining and kitchen area will take your breath away. The floor-to-ceiling slate rock wall encases a built-in gas fireplace, an entertainment center that includes a large flat screen TV and DVD player, along with a CD stereo. Games and movies line the shelves for those cooler days when lounging by the fire with a hot cup of cocoa sounds like more fun than a brisk walk outdoors. The kitchen with gas range features top-of-the-line stainless steel appliances including dual dishwashers, gas ovens, and refrigerators making it very easy to prepare meals for your large group. The kitchen is fully furnished with cookware and dining ware for large groups. The 20-foot long pine dining table, along with a matching mini-version for the kids, allows the whole gang to sit down and have a meal together while conversing about their day's adventures.
After dinner, you can retire to the upstairs game room for an evening of some good ol' fashioned competition with a game of pool. Take a load off with an after-dinner movie or a quiet game of cards, or stock the wet bar with snacks and beverages and let the kids have free reign while the adults head to the hot tub—with wine in hand—for some serious soaking. It's a clear evening under a Milky Way sky. Enjoy the tranquil setting away from the hustle and bustle of every day.
Six master bedrooms feature all large beds—five of the bedrooms contain king-sized beds and a queen in the sixth bedroom. The two bunk bedrooms offer plenty of sleeping arrangements for the kids in your group or single adults who don't mind bunking up together in one room. All of the bunk beds, 4 sets of bunks in all, feature a twin bunk on top of a double sized lower bunk, making it much more roomy than typical bunk bedroom sets.
The Bittern Lodge Sunriver vacation home offers plenty of room to roam...to relax...and to rekindle your time with family and friends. This is a great home for large family vacations and reuinos or group retreats.

Sixteen members of our family gathered for a mini-reunion … arriving from Kailua HA, Bellingham WA, Tacoma & Seattle WA, Portland OR, Lafayette & Opelousas LA, Jackson MS, Salt Lake City UT. Your lovely home provided the perfect base for four days of tennis, river rafting, hiking, biking, hot tubbing, game playing, visiting, and lots of great cooking and eating. Everyone had plenty of elbow room and places to retreat for a nap or reading when desired. We really appreciated how well-equipped your great kitchen is. Everything was perfect!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

This is our 1st time to stay at this house. There are 19 of us, from Grandma & Papa, to 4 siblings & spouses, and 9 grandchildren (from 12 years to 10 mo.) The size of the house & accommodations were great.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

“We may not have it all together, but together we have it all.” During our 7 days in your home we felt we had it all … great fun, food, friendships and yes, family. Every 2 years we hold a reunion to relive our past, rejoice our present, and revel in the future. In 2007 we rented a villa in Tricany. But your home made our 2009 get-together extra special, leading us to decide on another week in North America in 2011 and to plan on a mini reunion in the USA next year. Your home exceeded expectations; king-sized beds, a TV/DVD player in every room, pool and ping pong tables, hot tub, free bikes, a large open kitchen with 2 ovens, 2 dishwashers, a pantry full of all the gear and even the spices we needed. All 14 of us (from Missouri, Colorado, Tennessee, Texas, Washington and Oregon) had all the space we could ever need for the great meals (table for 14!). The long talks (giant sectional and 4 arm chairs!) and the daily nests (a bath for every room!) Charming deer even hovered around the patio in the vast backyard (one is there even as we write this, sad in a seeming goodbye). Finally Sunriver, Bend and other surrounding towns had all the activities we could wish for: High Desert Museum, Newberry Volcano, Crater Lake, Mt. Bachelor and the 3 Sisters, wonderful bike, hiking, and boat trails (Deschutes River!), fine dining, and great shopping. Truly we had it all!Did you find this review helpful? Heading back to Shoreline, Washington, Edmunds, etc. after six days loving your home. So like to fish? Wow! I’m just blown away by all the beautiful wood, i.e. dining room table and chairs, staircase, columns, etc. This week we were seven couples and one single enjoying Mt. Bachelor, eating in Bend, shopping and just hanging out. We all share a history together of over 25 years of spending one week on the mountains! Thanks for sharing the beautiful home.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

What a great house for our family reunion! We had almost 20 family members, ranging in age from 8 to 81 coming here from China, Japan, Florida, Illinois, Ohio and Washington State. We had a great time at the dining table, playing charades and enjoying each other’s company. We tried the ski lift on Mt. Bachelor where we enjoyed tastings, Paulina’s, plunge bike tour, canoeing, star gazing, airplane gliding, white water rafting, and a lot of biking on the trails. We also enjoyed he hot tub and the daily visits from the friendly deer. This house is exceptionally well equipped for this kind of event. Everything in it is of the highest quality and well maintained. The twin refrigerator and dishwasher were perfect for our needs and the management company was prompt to respond on the few occasions we called. We will strongly recommend the Bittern lodge!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1
