We were a party of 4 coming to Istanbul to attend our friends' wedding. The apartment was ideal for us in layout and location. The place was clean, the kitchen well stocked, the beds were comfortable. The best though is our host who helped assisted us with making airport transfers (and even accommodating changes to our travel schedules), providing us with information about the area, and even stocking essentials like water, juice, snacks. I can not recommend this property highly enough. If travels takes me back, I will be sure to try to stay here again.

Cozy apartment with great location

We were six adults who travelled together and experienced a great week both in Istanbul and in the Firuze apartment. The cozy apartment worked well and made us feel like home. It has an alright equipped kitchen, Wi-Fi, washing machine etc. It was easy to cook a home made dinner when we wanted to have a meal together at home. The living room was perhaps a bit small, but we had no trouble to make ourselves comfortable here. The location is perfect within walking distance to major attractions both in the old and the new city (eventually easily accessible by public transport on more laid back days). Unfortunately it was too cold to enjoy the common roof terrace at our stay. Anyhow: we all agreed that we would love to stay here again the next time we visit Istanbul, and I will also be sure to recommend it to fellow travellers.

This was my second stay in the Firuze apartment and I enjoyed it this time as much as I did the first time. I won't even consider staying anyplace else. More than enough room for 4 people. The apartment itself is so comfortable and spacious, and has a great view of the street below, which is always busy. Firuze Apartment is only a block away from Istiklal Caddesi, making it so convenient to local transportation, shopping and various restaurants, it is also a great retreat from being in the heart of the more touristy areas. I cannot say enough great things about it. Firuze, Keith and Jeremy are always pleasant, available and immediately responsive. I highly recommend Firuze Apartment.

The apartment was very clean and spacious. The kitchen appliances are top of the line and was well equipped. When we arrived early in the morning, the street was empty and a little daunting to a family from the suburbs in Canada. But when we returned from our tour at supper time, the shops had opened up and it was alive with music and people. We loved walking around the neighbourhood and the apartment was well located with the major shopping street about a block and a half away. The area was safe and fun. I would recommend it to anyone but not the old or infirm because of the stairs, only 2 flights.

We enjoyed our stay very much and the apartment was more than up to our expectations. It was splendid. The location was also perfect and the view from the roof was terrific. We found a lot of useful touristinformation in the apartment - thank you. Absolutely everything needed for the stay in the apartment was at place. The transport from and to the airport was well arranged and we were met in the apartment by a nice guy who gave us useful information. Next time we travel to Istanbul we will very much like to stay in the apartment again. You can be proud of your apartment! Thank you for the stay.

We enjoyed the apartment a lot. Set very close to where we wanted to go, and with an excellent set of amenities in the apt itself - washing machine, dishwasher, airconditioning, all very welcome. Well decorated, and equipped, too. Some minor things for consideration: i) dishwasher bottom shelf seems to crash down heavily when moved forward or backward. ii) toilet in smaller bathroom seems loose i.e. not properly fixed to floor. iii) the arrangements for drinking water not all that clear. we used bottled water, and were unsure whether we could use the supply in the large bottle below the kitchen shelf - not sure if there was a lid on it? iv) the information about ferries in Istanbul was very unreliable, and could only reliably be determined by going to the ferry landing itself, where a timetable is available. Could be an idea to have this handy. v) there was a fire on the roof one day - Nathan from one of the upstairs apartments put it out, and he may be able to tell you the details, but it looked to me like the wall at the top has wooden beams plastered into it, and they are very dry, and flammable. vi) the financial arrangements were not totally clear to us, and we were surprised that an extra rate per person, per night is advertised, but that this really means that it is an extra rate per person for any night that more than four people are in the apartment. This could be made clearer in the advertising. But all in all, we had a wonderful time in Istanbul, and the apartment played an important role in that, so many thanks.

Firuze Apartment - May 2011

We had a lovely stay at Firuze in May 2011. The three bedrooms made it very comfortable for the six of us, and the three showers helped with prep time in the morning. It was very nicely decorated with hardwood floors, beautiful kilim rugs and lots of color. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and in a great location for everything, and the kitchen was very well equipped. The owner and caretaker were also incredibly accommodating. My one hesitation would be the slightly small living room. It was a bit cramped for all 6 of us, but still worked. If it had been warmer out, my biggest disappointment would have been the rooftop deck, since it is not fixed up at all. There were just a few chairs thrown up there, but it was not nice enough for dinner or even evening cocktails. Otherwise, I would wholly recommend the Firuze apartment.

It was an unusually cold and windy weather this spring and roof furniture was blown and broken by the strong wind. Now that weather has improved and terrace usable again it is being cleaned up and broken chairs etc are being replaced and guests can enjoy the magnificent views that are as fantastic as the view from the Galata Tower.

We are a family group (3 couples) who stayed here over 6 days during a very cold and sometimes rather wet April. Firuze apartment was always very warm, clean, bright and comfortable to return to. It was quiet and relaxing yet just a few yards from the lively largley pedestrianised main street in Belogyu (modern Istanbul) with all its shops, bars and restaurants. The kitchen was well equipped and modern, the bathrooms worked well and the 3 double bedrooms all spacious and comfortable. The taxi pick up to and from the airport made the journey hassle free and the person who met us at the apartment was courteous and helpful. We would certainly recommend Firuze to friends.

My family and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Firuze apartment while on vacation. The apartment exceeded all expectations we had. The property is beautiful and well maintained. Firuze and his team made us feel right at home and were readily available to answer all of our questions. All the information they provided to us about Istanbul was helpful and greatly appreciated. The neighborhood was filled with things to see and do and easily accessible to public transportation. The next time we find ourselves on Holiday in Turkey we will be sure to stay here again! Great stay with children

Our first booking thru HomeAway. The apartment was great! It was a great home base in a relaxing, modern atmosphere. It was great to come home and have space to relax with a glass of wine before dinner. Check in and out were easy. The airport transfer worked perfectly and we were thankful to have it arranged. The apartment is not for someone with trouble walking or stairs. The road is steep. It was a bit of a trek up the hill from the tram, but even with kids (9 and 11 yrs), we thought it was well located for a reasonable walk up to dinner, and down to the tram to go to Old Town. Although there was some construction on the roof terrace, we were looking OUT at the great view, especially after dark. We had a super stay and would recommend it.

I am surprised that you were not aware that there is no need to walk up or down the hill because there is an underground train, one of the oldest in the world, called "Tunel" and is only 2 minutes walk from the apartment. It only has 2 stations, one up and one down down the hill. The journey takes only 2 minutes and costs only around $1. Although I love the walk, but the train is available if carrying shopping or someone not able to walk up hill.All the information on taking various modes of transport to places of interest from the apartment is in my Istanbul guide as well as my Istanbul transport guide from Firuze apartment. The map on our website also shows all the train, metro and tram stations close to the apartment. One of the best features of Istanbul Firuze Apartment is its fantastic location and public transport accessibility. Istanbul is also known as City of 7 hills, which one needs to be aware off. Fortunately we are almost at the top of the hill and 2 minutes walk from the famous Istiklal Ave which is flat and 2km long pedestrian street.

We found the apartment to be very clean, spacious, well equipped and in a fantastic location. The provision of milk, juice, biscuits, chocolate etc on arrival was much appreciated and allowed us to relax immediately in the apartment rather than trying to run around and find basic provisions. The information provided in advance of and during our stay was relevant and up to date. We would definitely come again and have recommended it to our friends.

Just spent 6 days in Instanbul with 3 friends. The apartment itself is wonderful. Keith is really wonderful and helpful. He really goes the extra mile to ensure your experience is trouble free. The only difficulty I had was the hand rail on the steps is on the narrow side of the stairs and as I needed a cane this made it a bit difficult. Overall the aparment and its location were ideal and enhanced the trip greatly. Also the woman who picked us up and dropped us of at the airport (I don't know her name) what a great gal. She's a lot of fun and was willing to get up a 3:00 am to take us to the airport.

5 out of 5 Excellent apartment From 13/8/10 to 23/8/10 We just returned from a 11 days holiday to Istanbul with my family We had a lovely time in the apartment – given that there were six of us. including my two son 9 years and 11 years old, We had a perfect holiday in Istanbul, we stayed in the excellent apartment, The Firuze apartment spacious and luxurious, and in a perfect location.The local manager was very helpful and friendly. Istiklal street a few meter away from Firuze apartment. air conditioning system was excellent in every room and the bed towels and window coverings was excellent. 3 excellent bathroom and on suit. Everything around you from shapes, restaurants, museums and, Galata Tower's. Views from the rooftop were stunning. I highly recommend the Firuze apartment to anyone who is looking for an apartment and experience in Istanbul. Mr Keith , the property manager, and his team given excellent service. This is a great apartment, well located and very well appointed. We highly recommend, This is more then excellent.

A Delightful Experience

I just returned from a 2 week trip to Istanbul with friends. We had a perfect vacation in an unknown city because we stayed in the perfect apartment ! The Firuze apartment is lovely , spacious and in a perfect location. We each had our own bedroom as well as lovely bathrooms , a modern spacious kitchen and a delightful sitting room with a small balcony overlooking the street below. Our air conditioning system was excellent ( very important ) and the bed linens , towels and window coverings were first rate. The building's roof top terrace offers a view of Istanbul that rivals the Galata Tower's view. We were able to walk to all of the museums and palaces . We ate dinner in lovely neighbor -hood restaurants and had coffee at the nearby Starbucks ( familiar is nice sometimes !) every morning as we planned our days. The communication prior to our arrival was consistent and clear . We were given a very detailed manual to download prior to our stay. Included in the manual were detailed instructions with regard to directions and suggested modes of transportation to every major attraction , as well as the major bazaars. The manual became an invaluable tool for us in planning our days. Keith , the property manager, was a phone call away and graciously arranged our airport transportation. I highly recommend the Firuze apartment to anyone who is looking for an uncomplicated , pleasant apartment experience in Istanbul.

The apartment itself was excellent, it is comfortable and spaction and has everything you would need for a stay for a week was there. The location is fantastic. We really enjoyed the vibrant lively area it is in. The support and assistance provided by Keith was really excellent. We had a couple of small problems but he was there immediately to sort it out. Don't be put off by the entrance to the building which is a bit run down. The rooftop area has breathtaking views over the Golden Horn and Bosphorous but is a need of some work.

The flat was very clean and well equipped and the beds were comfortable with reading lights. We were 5 adults who enjoyed the range of local restaurants and bars as well as the excellent, easy to use nearby public transport links to the historic sites on the other shore. Istanbul is a very friendly, safe city with a great deal to see and enjoy. I would recommend both Istanbul and Firuze appt highly for a really good city break. [But don't bother to go to the modern art museum down on the shore nearby!]

Firuze Fantastic Apartment

I stayed at Firuze apartment with a group of friends and we were all delighted from start to finish of our time there. The apartment is in a brilliant location, it is spacious and light with every home comfort that you could need. You can walk to the Old City from the apartment and also right in the heart of the restaurants and bars area. Everything is close by but you still get peace and quiet inside the apartment. Firuze, Keith and their colleagues were all extremely helpful and I would highly recommend staying here. We are looking forward to coming here again one day.

We had a lovely time in the apartment – spacious rooms, nicely appointed, with new appliances. Very clean. The two and half baths were much appreciated, given that there were five of us. This apartment was all it was advertised to be; clean, spacious, light-filled and lovely. It allowed our family of 5, including 3 young adult children, to spend all of our time together without feeling cramped and cranky! This is a great apartment, well located and very well appointed. There were a few minor nits when we arrived but the Managing Agent took care of them quickly and effectively. We were there with another couple and there was plenty of room. Having been in Istanbul and Turkey for several weeks before staying at the apartment one could not have asked for a better location. Easy to walk to a lot of shops, and resturants and the grocery store was only about a 5 minute walk. The apartment is in an old building with no elevator and the stairwell is somewhat dark and dirty but I would not hesitate to recommend this place to friends or relatives. Property was clean and well maintained.

Owner response:Thank you for your comments. I am pleased to say that in January 2011 we upgraded and improved lighting in the entrance and stair areas. We have also renovated the communal areas including, retiling the entrance marble floor, new windows in the stairwell, new stair railing, painting, etc.

The location of this property is right in the centre of the town, you have all the shops and restaurants and tourist attractions just on your doorstep. The flat is in one of the old traditional grand buildings with a wide marble staircase and an ornate balcony. The flat itself is stunning, all newly furbished and decorated with all the mod cons. It is very clean, confortable and spacious, you can't wish for a better private accommodation.

A smart apartment, situated in Tunel, at the right end of Istakal Caddesi for the best of the bars in this part of town and an easy and very pleasant walk down past the Galata Tower and over the Galata Bridge to Sultanahmet and the sights of old Istanbul. And yes, there really is a jacuzzi-bath and, yes, it really does work. Recommended.

Best Location in Istanbul. We went as a group of friends. The apartment was very spacious and luxurious. At the end of a busy day sightseeing with didn't have to wait turns to have a shower as there was 3 in the apartment. The steam shower and the jaccuzi were fantastic. Just the perfect thing after hours of walking in Istanbul and best of all one could really relax listening to music while having a steam or bath. True luxury. There are endless choices of bars and restaurants in the area and no need to take a taxi afterwards. We paid money to watch Istanbul from Galata Tower before realizing we could have watched it from the wonderfull roof terrace. The view is simply magnificent. Firuze Apartment is the best holiday apartment we have stayed in and would difinitly recommend it. Mohamed from London, UK.
