Our little hamlet of Occidental became a town in 1876 and is home to redwood, manzanitas, and fir forests. With its windy country and mountain roads, west Sonoma County has been home to two world class bicycle races, and is a current favorite. Charming farmers market on Fridays in summer/fall includes: great prepared foods, music, local fruits and vegetables and Occidental community spirit. The town has two sweet, historic churches if you have interest in tying the knot in a traditional setting.
