Interlude is a true year around jewel on Sproat Lake. Guests have included reunions, weddings, corporate retreats, and even a composer in residence one winter who used the piano daily. The dock is huge - 20 foot X 44 foot with dock shed with fridge and sun tent. The water hovers around 78 degrees in the summertime, and every fish in the lake has to pass right beside our float. Eagles and Osprey fly overhead as the river is just 1/4 mile downstream and fishermen are on the shores many times throughout the year.
Many guests book 3 day retreats throughout the year - and Christmas is a magical time with usually just enough snow to capture your imagination. Christmas/New Years is a popular time slot at Interlude!
The proximity of Interlude to Port Alberni (10 minute drive) for the world famous salmon fishing, or Tofino/Ucluelet (1.5 hour drive) for your Long Beach adventure - as well as everything that the cleanest recreational lake in B.C. can offer is without parallel. We have winter guests only - who state that the solitude broken only by fish jumping is precisely what their soul needs. The nearby town of Port Alberni has every convenience, and your journey from Nanaimo is only 1 hour or from Victoria is 2.5 hours.
Guest include visitors from Holland, England, New Zealand, Italy, Germany,USA, and many from Vancouver and Victoria.

Rate Details (In Canadian Dollars)
High Season .. Mid Jun-Mid Sep .. $2395 (CDN)/week.
Low Season ... Mid Sep-Mid Jun .. $1195 (CDN)/week.
50% deposit upon booking, and balance 45 days prior to vacation.
$500 deposit unless we hold credit card # as deposit.
We charge the GST tax of 5% on all rentals.
3 day packages in Low Season at $249/night.
Holiday weekends are 4 night minimum off season (Thanksgiving,Easter)
Christmas/New Years is an 8 day booking @ $1495 flat rate

Why the Owner Chose Port Alberni
Sproat Lake was a wonderful place to grow up, and my most vivid memories as a boy are sitting around campfires at night and swimming or playing on water toys all day. Our own children spent summers vacationing at friends' homes on the lake, and when the opportunity to purchase this property came up we jumped at the chance. Interlude offers everything a lake home can, yet is only 7 miles from the salt water and best salmon fishing in the world. Time-wise visitors can be on the dock within 3 hours of leaving Vancouver! There is no cleaner more recreation friendly lake that is readily accessible to the urban centres of Vancouver and Victoria.

Interlude was built to house many family and friends, and it does just that. The 3 separate floors and living areas allow noise separation, and make a terrific vacation regardless of weather. Fall and winter guests tell us that the idyllic calm and silence they experience rejuvenates their soul!

Lynne and Bryce are busy marketing consultants who travel North America while living permanently in Vancouver. We enjoy Interlude as much in the dead of winter as the heat of summer, and chose to place the property in this vacation pool so others can enjoy the lake while we are unable to be here.
