My husband and I found Judy's Beach House to be a wonderful destination. The town of Kailua is very charming, the beaches are beautiful with easy access and the location of the house gave us easy access to all of Oahu. We toured most of the island. There are many fine restaurants nearby, but the house is equipped with all you need to fix your own meals if you so desire. It just fit our life style perfectly!

We had such a nice stay at Judy's place. My husband and I traveled with our three-year-old and 6-month-old girls, and my brother, to help out with the girls when needed. We could not have been more comfortable. Judy's place had everything we needed - plenty of towels, beach towels, all the kitchen items needed to cook at home, and washer/dryer. She even provided laundry detergent! The layout of the space was perfect to have my brother sleeping downstairs in his own large room with sitting area. My older daughter slept on the sofabed in the downstairs bedroom as well. The baby stayed with us in the upstairs master bedroom. We ordered a pack-n-play from a local company who delivered and picked up, no problem. Judy's place was very clean, which we really appreciated! It was much more comfortable than a hotel would have been -- so much more space, which means more peace for all! We BBQ'd in the backyard one afternoon, which was lovely. We used the boogie boards and snorkeling gear another day. We were able to walk to the beach - so convenient! Many times a vacation can be stressful with kids, but not this one, and I think it was largely due to how comfortable Judy's place was. We would love to come back again! Mahalo.
Owner response:Mahalo Nui Loa...It was great meeting you folks and having you stay here in Kailua. PLesae come back again..... Aloha. Judy

We had a wonderful time staying in the beach house. We spent most of the time outside sitting in the yard. The weather is so nice there, that you hate to be inside any longer than you have to be. We did use the kitchen to make breakfast each day and the grill outside for lunches. The house is very well stocked with utensils, spices, towels, and other useful items left behind by fellow travelers. There was Pinky's Pupu Bar & Grill and a Safeway just a short walk away. Pinky's was a great place to go for food and drinks. Mahalo:}

What a great location - Just a five minute walk to a beach that has the best sun rise view, fun waves and great to walk. The house has all one needs - just unpack and enjoy - comfortable and beautiful. Judy has all sorts of material in living room to help decide what you may want to do and how to get there. We had no problems with any meals - Judy has whatever one needs in kitchen. I had been concerned with just one bathroom and three people but proved no problem, and a great hot water shower was so appreciated after a day at beach. We found the place in a central location for all the touring we did. Judy was available for any question we might have. This Beach House made our vacation a PLUS. Thank you Judy. I highly recommend this Beach House.
Owner response:Aloha Jane...Mahalo to you and your family...It was wonderful to have you folks as my guests here in Kailua, and I look forward to your return visit. Aloha.Judy

Hi Judy, thanks for the time in your house. My mother, brother and I enjoyed your place very much, is very comfortable and very spacious and full of light. We had a lot of privacy and towels! Obama was staying in the near by beach at the same time we arrive but that was just an extra anecdote to the lots of fun we had driving around Oahu to find all those beautiful beaches and views!

Our family of 4 (two older teens and 2 adults) loved our stay. The common area was spacious, and the bedrooms had plenty of room for sleeping and living. It was what we expected, roomy, exceptionally clean and in a very quiet location near the beach. The daily 5 min walk to the beach was wonderful for our family. We spent a few days just hanging out at the apartment and then most of our time was spent seeing Oahu. The location is perfect for getting all around the island and staying out of the craziness.
Owner response:Aloha to the wonderful family from Alaska. It was fun having you folks stay here in Kailua. I am so pleased that all your needs were met. Please come back again. With Aloha and Happy New Year....Judy

It was an excellent vacation for our group of five (2 parents and three 20 year-olds). The lodging was fresh, clean, comfortable and beautiful. Very good access to a dreamy beach. Papaya trees and plumerias in the surrounding gardens just outside the windows. Tropical beauty -- lovely neighborhood. We will return! (Judy -- thank you for providing beach towels, boogie boards, etc. which we hadn't brought with us!) Thank you all around.
Owner response:Mahalo Nui Loa for visiting Kailua and my Beachside Corner. You were a lovely family and I enjoyed having you visit. I hope you return soon....Aloha. Judy

Since 1993, this was our sixth visit to Kailua. Judy's Beach Cottage was the best rental we've had so far. It was the perfect layout for our family with almost everything we needed and very clean. The location was a short distance to the beach. Despite the fact that everyone had a long night due to the Tsunami scare, Judy was the perfect hostess welcoming us when we arrived close to midnight with warm Aloha hugs. Thanks Judy for all of your helpful information, we'll be back!
Owner response:Aloha Spokane......If was great to meet you, and have you as my guests here in Kailua. I know we will meet again soon. PLease come back and enjoy the sunshine. With Aloha. Judy

The location was in a quiet neighborhood right near the beach and a short drive to Kailua Beach Park. The house was very clean and neat and the accommodations were as expected (if not more than expected). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend the unit to anyone. In fact, I have already passed Judy's business cards to several other interested parties and if I come back to Oahu (and I hope in the not-to-distant-future), I would stay at Judy's place again. Judy, thank you for sharing your lovely place. Aloha
Owner response:Aloha and Mahalo to Claudia, Russ and Hallie...It was my pleasure having you folks here in Kailua...I greatly appreciate your fine comments. PLease do come back, and Mahalo for spreading the word. Aloha. Judy

This rental was just what we were looking for. Living local. It was clean and spacious for the four of us. We were a little concerned about only having one bathroom, but it worked out fine. It was a great location for wandering the Island and then coming back to have quiet time in the backyard visiting and barbequing. It was very close to the beach, great for a morning walk or run. Kailua is a great little town and we would recommend this to anyone who doesn't really care for the hustle and bustle that Honolulu has. Thank you Judy for sharing a little bit of Island paradise with us!
Owner response:Mahalo Kim, Hunter, Jo & Kevin, You wer the bestguests, always wanting me to partake with your outdoor activities. I look foward to you folks coming back for more fun and laughter. Aloha. Judy

udy personally welcomed us to her vacation rental despite our late arrival. Beautiful flowers and container planting adorn the driveway area. The rental unit is ideally situated in Kailua, within walking distance of the beach. The famous Pinky's Bar and Grill is a short trip down the street. This area of Kailua also has a certain amount of cachet owing to the fact that the vacation rental currently used by the President and his family is nearby. We could not detect any traffic issues arising from this even though the family was in town while we were staying in Judy's Beachside. The unit is spotless, the wireless worked well, the large screen TV in the common area was a nice touch. . We (four adults) spent a Sunday morning lounging in the kitchen. dining /living room area and we found this space was ideal. The two bedrooms are on separate floors but the single bathroom is conveniently located on the main (upstairs) floor. The laundry area is handy because it is near the entrance. The kitchen was more than adequate - the lack of a dishwasher absolutely not a problem. It was joy to deal with Judy who responded quickly to email messages. We can recommend this unit to active families who will take advantage of the location as it is so close to many amenities and of course the world-famous Kailua beach that is clearly one of the best in Hawaii. We travellled to Maui and the Big Island as well during our trip and would have to say that Kailua Beach ranks at the top of the list.
Owner response:Mahalo Nui Loa for the Petros and Buist family. I enjoyed having you as my guests and do hope you come back to neautiful Kialua Beach. Aloha. Judy

...."cb" is someone you don't want to have stay over at your house. Yikes. I was there for two weeks, a working vacation to get some writing done. The weather is phenomenal--turned the A/C off and just let the fresh air blow through the house. Met all my deadlines. Needed a ton of privacy and I got it. The owner, who lives in the next building, is super helpful and attentive. The kitchen has every little thing you could imagine. One of the top ten beaches on earth is a short walk away. I will certainly, good Lord willing, be back. There's nowhere else I'd stay on Oahu. Why would you to anywhere else?
Owner response:Mahalo Nui Loa ...HuntingtonBeach guest. it was a pleasure having you, and I do hope you return...Aloha..

We loved Judy's Beachside Corner in Kailua. The location was perfect. The Hawaiian decor was lovely. We used the kitchen for most of our meals so having everything at hand made it easy. We used the BBQ in the pretty garden a few times and actually had some meals in the garden. Judy was a teriffic hostess. She helped us with activities and suggestions of where to find special attractions. It was our first time using vrbo and we are so pleased to have found Judy. We are getting ready to book again for next year.
Owner response:Thank you Fresno family....I love having guests like you....and it was my pleasure having you stay here in Kailua. Aloha J.

This is not a house. This is a mother-in-law unit above the owner's garage. You will be aware of their coming and goings by the reverberations of the garage door through the unit. The garden that is pictured is photographed in such a way as to hide that it faces into the owner's family room. The "full" kitchen lacks a dishwasher. The privacy that one would expect from a house is nonexistent.
Owner response:These renters did not receive their full security deposit refunded , as they left my rental so dirty, it took two crews to clean it up, in excess of 8 hours. I had to throw out the Hawaiian bedspread, all the dishes were dirty and put back into the cupboards.....it is obvious that after 7 yerars of people loving my rental, these people were unhappy not getting their money back. My rental is full 2 bedroom with loads of privacy......so I welcome people to please read all the other reviews.l

The four of us had an excellent stay at the townhome and Judy is very helpful and friendly. The home is very clean and perfect for 4 adults. We enjoyed being walking distance to the beach and went several times to watch the sunrise. The wedding we attended was in the Kailua area so everything we needed was close such as restaurants & shopping. Such a nice area and we definitely recommend staying at Judy's Beachside Corner.

We stayed at Judys Beachside house on spring break 2010. Everything you see in the pictures is how it looks and what we walked into. Beautiful rooms and very clean. Judy is so helpful on any questions you may have. The neighborhood is very safe and across the street from Kailua beach. All the amenities were so great to have: washer and dryer, wi-fi, and air etc. We will certainly pick this place again if we ever get so lucky to come back.

We booked our overseas family into Judy's vacation rental and they loved it! We have booked them into several vacation rentals in the past, but they loved this one by far because of the beautiful clean unit, proximity to the beach and Kailua town. We shall be booking here again.

It was a wonderful experience to spend time in Hawaii especially spending it in a home rather than a hotel. The accommodations were very clean and equipped with every thing we needed to make ourselves at home. It was a short walk to the beach and my granddaughter had a good time with the boogie board. The sleeping arrangements were very satisfying.
