My wife pam and I stayed at the Snell cabin in Polebridge Mt. from sept 3rd through the 10th. Wow is all we both can say. We are still telling everyone we know that this was the best vacation we both have ever had. The cabin was perfect for us. everything was what we expected and more more more. waking up to the view of the mountains everyday, going to the bakery and both of the taverns was an experience we both will never forget. The people were so friendly and made us feel very welcome. even though we were away from the cabin quite a bit on our adventures in the park we always looked forward to this littel oasis in the mountains away from the crowds and busy lifestyle especially no tv, internet, cell service. thsi is what we both really needed. The cabin had everything we needed and was stalked to the hilt. On our last day when we were packing up and actually about 10 minutes from leaving we saw a mama grizzly and her cub walk right through the property next door. this is why we choce this place, so if you are looking for all the luxuries of a very quiet get away without all of the crowds and niose then this cabin is the perfect spot to just relax and enjoy the beauty of Galcier natl Park. Thank you John and Sharon for an unforgettable vacation. We will be back.. Sincerely, Dennis Fehling and pam Bigoni

My husband and I instantly felt at home in the Snell Cabin. It had every convenience while being rustic and relaxing. The views from the loft balcony and front porch were perfect. The night sky amazing. We loved the quiet, easy pace of Polebridge, MT. Being "off the grid" was a perk for us but had the cabin not been advertised this way, we wouldn't have known it.Having the Northern Lights Saloon and the Polebride Mercantile just down the road was a welcomed surprise. We will be back, soon I hope.

Thank you John and Sharon, your camp was exactly what we where looking for. Myself, my wife and the boys ages 16 and 13 had a great time at your camp. It was a perfect spot to get away and still have some modern convienences, washer, dryer and indoor plumbing. Thank you again, bob l.

The Snell cabin was recommended to us through some friends and it was even more amazing then what they described. You truly must experience it for yourself. We chose the Snell cabin and Glacier Park as our honeymoon spot and couldn't have been more pleased. As you can see from the pictures, the cabin is set in a beautiful location in the northwest corner of Glacier Park about 1 mile south of the tiny town of Polebridge and about 40 minutes north of West Glacier. The scenery is breathtaking, it's quiet and peaceful, surrounded by mountains and small streams with more wildlife than the eyes can take in. In the four days we were there, we saw deer, wolves, elk and moose around the cabin - pretty exciting when you're not used to seeing those on a daily basis. The cabin is wonderful and fully equiped; food and an appetite for exploring God's magnificent creation is all you need to bring. My wife and I can't say enough great things about the Snells, the cabin and this location. This is a must on your "bucketlist". We are already planning a return trip!

We spent New Years 2010 at the Snell cabin and loved it so much we spent our Christmas this year there as well! The cabin is set back from the road at the end of a long driveway which means you don't have to listen to cars driving by. And the views are amazing! At night, you can sneak onto the upper story deck to view the twinkling stars. The location is also ideal because you are only a short distance from Glacier Park. Be sure to cross country ski or snowshoe the trail to Bowman Lake. It is nice as the drive is only about 10-15 minutes to the trailhead/park entrance. We did wake up one morning to see 3 elk outside and we also heard wolves howling while we were out snowshoeing behind the cabin as well. The cabin itself is spotless and extremely homey. There is both a wood fire stove and propane, so should your woodstove die out in the early hours, the propane will kick on so you never have to worry about getting cold. The kitchen has everything you need to cook so you would never have to leave if you didn't want to! Everything is in perfect shape and you really feel like you are in a "home" and not a rental. Unlike most places in the North Fork area, the Snell cabin has a shower and a toilet, again, spotlessly clean. There are also puzzles to put together which is a great way to end the evening! I would recommend this cabin to anyone wanting to experience the wilderness of Montana but without having to really rough it. It is so comfortable and so homey that I can't say enough good things about it. John is very pleasant to deal with and was readily available to answer any questions that came up. Even though I only live and hour and a half away, this has become my new favorite place to visit. And I haven't even been there in the summer when it would be even more amazing!

This trapper type cabin is the perfect getaway place to relax and explore Glacier. We completely let our stress dissolve by the fire and on the porch soaking in the view. The cabin was extremely clean and had all the amenities of home. You will only need food, gear, and a smile while staying at John's cabin. There is lots of wildlife so bring your camera as well. Wolves howled us to sleep one night. I will definately go back and refer friends there as well.

We just had our first ever visit up to NW Montana, where we stayed in 3 different vrbo places, including inside Glacier Park and on Flathead Lake. However, this log cabin up the North Fork was certainly the most memorable stay on our trip. While most vrbo owners provide a comfortable and well-stocked rental property, nothing compares to a handmade home built as a labor of love with the help of friends. The cabin location is ideal for launching into the wild northwest side of Glacier Park, or just sitting on the porch watching the colors fade on the mountains in the evening. We were awakened each day by the songs of coyotes. Best of all, you can't even think about what's on TV or the radio, much less checking your email or texts, or surfing the web -- you'll have to drive an hour back down into Columbia Falls for all that. Don't be put off by the "off-the-grid" part, the hot shower and kitchen beat the fancier places, and the big woodstove will keep you plenty warm all night. And, there is a land phone so you can call your friend back home if you really need to check the baseball scores. Perfect.

If you are looking for a chance to spend time in a secluded, pristine area of the US this is it! The cabin is exactly as described and more. My wife and I spent a week here and could have easily spent much more time. The area around the cabin is so incredibly quiet. I have never in my life seen so many stars at night. The cabin is very well maintained and has everything you would need for your stay. John Snell is a great host and available to answer questions. We had to postpone this trip a year ago at the last minute due to a death in the family. John was very gracious and worked with us completely. Fortunately we were able to make it this year. The Polebridge Mercantile is just a mile away along with the Northern Lights Saloon. Both are a must see. The Polbridge entrance to Glacier Park is just beyond the mercantile. The West Glacier area is just a 30 minute drive. I highly recommend John’s cabin to anyone looking to spend time in the Glacier area.

I just returned from a week's stay at John Snell's cabin with my husband and one-year-old daughter. It was absolutely amazing. The meadow in front of the cabin seems to stretch on for miles, giving way to completely uninterrupted views of Glacier's northern peaks. We enjoyed a full moon under a clear sky, and were able to see the mountains' shadows against the silvery moonlight. John is an excellent host. He provided us with a crib for our daughter and was available to answer all of our questions. The cabin is located within walking distance of the Mercantile and the traiheads to Bowman and Kintla lakes are just a short drive away. We cannot recommend this cabin enough. We hope to return one day!

We spent a great several days in the North Fork. The cabin itself was great for our family of 4, and we loved the proximity to both Glacier and Whitefish / Columbia Falls.

We came to Polebridge for our friend's wedding and were fortunate to have found the Snell cabin to stay in for the following week - our friends were jealous. The cabin is wonderful - fully furnished with everything you need for a great stay! Waking up to morning wildlife was beautiful and the views from the cabin are breath taking. Spent many relaxing days fishing and just enjoying the surroundings. John and Sharon are wonderful hosts and I would definitely recommend this spot for anyone looking for relaxation and fantastic views. West Glacier is just a short distance away where you can access the Road to the Sun in Glacier Park. We will definitely be back!

My husband and I stayed here in July 2010 for three nights. We thoroughly enjoyed the cabin and property. It is in a beautiful setting and very private. We had a light rain while barbecuing on the deck and saw a rainbow that ended right before the tree line. Just as good (almost) as a pot of gold. The property was well-maintained and well stocked with everything you need. John is very helpful if you have any concerns or questions. The proximity to Glacier was great and we enjoyed seeing Bowman Lake near by and of course the rest of Glacier. We highly recommend staying here if you get the chance.

My significant other and I were married at Snell's Cabin last June. Not only were the accomidations both beautiful inside and out, but John Snell (the owner) was very helpful and hospitable. Surrounded by Glacier Park Mountains, bright green grasses, and the rustling sounds of the river, Snell's provided the perfect backdrop to our wedding. We had 100+ guests, a band, two tents and a full catered meal. We can't wait to return! We loooove Polebridge: the bakery, Glacier Park, Northern Lights Saloon, and access to the North Fork River. Snell's cabin is just a mile or two from all of this! If you want to visit one of Montana's best kept secrets, visit Snell's Cabin just a mile south of Polebridge, MT.

We had a magnificent experience at the Snell cabin. It was truly a magical place to hold our wedding and our guests were as blown away by its beauty as we were. It was also wonderful to work with John and his wife. Their generous hospitality was greatly appreciated. I would recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a little piece of paradise.

My husband and I, along with some friends, rented this cabin for a week in late July. It was in the middle of a two month road trip and was BY FAR the BEST part of the entire trip. It is completely private and the scenery is stunning. We spent our days relaxing on the porch, cooking up some great meals, fishing and tubing on the North Fork of the Flathead River (only 5 minutes from the house) and building great bonfires. We spent some time in Glacier, which is less than ten minutes away, but when we woke up in the morning, mostly we just wanted to spend time in and around the cabin. I can only hope we are fortunate enough to rent it again in the future.

Comment Text: I can't imagine any better place to experience the pure beauty of Montana. Your cozy and well appointed cabin provided my family a great base camp from which to explore Glacier. I want to thank you for such a wonderful stay. We loved the solitude and beauty that your place offered. Your cabin was just perfect for my family as we needed a respite from the hustle and bustle of our everyday lives. We saw so many animals and enjoyed the cozy cabin and all of the little touches that made it feel like home. We explored areas of Glacier that we had never seen before and reconnected with nature and peace-of-mind. As usual, your amazing state has taken my breath away and makes it very difficult to return home to Texas. We will be back and will tell all of our friends and family about your place. Thank you again for your hospitality.

A slice of heaven awaits you when you drive down the little lane and settle into this beautiful log cabin. We shared it with another couple and had lots of room. But, we spent most of our time outdoors enjoying the incredible scenery and the lovely surroundings that John provided---the little campfire area, the lovely porch, the outbuildings to explore. Nearby Polebridge is charming and we loved our adventures in Glacier. But it was always great to return to the cabin, settle in, and feel like you own a piece of paradise!
