Welcome to Austin, Live Music Capital of the World! This lovely guest home is located a little over a mile east of downtown and the Capitol Building, with easy access to the Sixth Street/Red River Music District and SoCo (South Congress Avenue). The guest home has been thoughtfully spaced on a large, landscaped lot to maximize privacy from the main house, with a perimeter fence and spacious dog run for those guests who are traveling with their pooch.

Enjoy luxurious conveniences with an artistic flair: a king-sized bed handmade from Texas mesquite, a full-size kitchen with counter top bar, and framed posters of classic Austin musicians and venues are just some of the cool features of this unique vacation lodging. Other amenities you'll appreciate are a 32" flat-panel HDTV complete with surround sound and digital cable (on a fully-articulating wall mount, so you can watch movies in bed!), a CD & DVD library of local musicians and Texas film classics, wireless broadband internet access, and an iPod dock for your own tunes.

I've also put together a comprehensive guidebook to help you find the "Best of Austin"--those independent businesses (restaurants, record stores, boutiques, etc.) that are the cornerstone of this amazingly diverse and vibrant city. The guidebook contains maps, menus, and information on our natural wonders (including the incomparable Barton Springs/Zilker Park) and cultural highlights (such as the Blanton Museum of Art and the South Austin Museum of Popular Culture), as well as a list of all the places to hear great music!

From your off-street parking spot, it's less than a mile to both Manor Road and the historic 11th Street Corridor, hosts to over a dozen local cafes, coffee shops, and unique bars; it's also under a mile to the UT football stadium, home of the four-time National Champion Longhorns! A patio set and a hammock accentuate a pretty garden setting for a relaxing afternoon, or take a bounce on the trampoline (or a ride on the Schwinn cruiser bikes) and energize yourself for another day of sights and sounds in Austin.

A Little Slice of Heaven

Guest: Hilda827 (Miami, Fl.)
Date of Stay: 06/04/08 Review Submitted: 08/05/08

Stayed there with my wife in June. Whatta place! A lot nicer than a hotel. Clean, well decorated with everything close at hand. Shower for 2 was great, as was the big four-poster bed. Coffee in the am. outside attuned to nature and surprisingly cool. Great for any type of stay. As the owner says "take a bounce" on the trampoline just outside your door.

We had a great stay in the guest house! Everything is so clean and Leslie has thought of everything you would need. The bed is so comfy, perfect place for us and our 2 dogs. Everything was so close to the home, we will be staying here again on our next trip! Thanks again Leslie!

Great digs for a perfect weekend in Austin

Super comfortable and charming. Plenty of space for two and one or two four-legged friends. Great for a getaway. This host has thought of everything: stocked kitchen, tasteful collection of local music and DVDs, and an incredible visitor's directory. Perfect yard for lounging, reading, drinking coffee, and especially fun for dogs! Location is convenient to downtown. Several great cafes and restaurants within walking/biking distance.

Great getaway!

My husband & I and our 2 dogs drove in from Houston for a concert and stayed at Leslie's guesthome. It was perfect! She has it decorated with Austin music prints and has even put together a great guidebook to Austin. Everything was just as described. We enjoyed being able to bring our dogs with us, and the guest house has a fenced yard and good roads to walk them. We would definitely stay there again!

Charming Cottage

Guest: TJ (Arizona Metro Phx)
Date of Stay: 12/09/11 Review Submitted: 12/12/11

This little guest cottage was a wonderful alternative to a hotel. My husband and I were in town for a wedding, so didn't have a lot of time to spend in the room, but when we did, it was very comfortable. Leslie has lovingly decorated this guest house with care and imagination. It's colorful and cheery (even on the cloudy, overcast days we were there), and well appointed. Quiet, private and convenient. We would recommend you give it a try on your next visit to Austin.

Biking around Austin!

We had a wonderful stay at Leslie's guesthouse! We used the well tuned bikes everyday to ride around Austin. It was a great way for us to see the fun city and save money. Leslie keeps her rental very clean and well stocked with the necessities needed. We continued to find great areas nearby and would definitely stay there again. Thanks for a fun get-away Leslie!

Great Guest House!

Date of Stay: 11/05/11 Review Submitted: 11/12/11

Upon arrival of this Charming Guest House, we were greeted by Leslie immediately, she made us feel more than welcome and was most helpful with all of our requests. The photos reflect the rental's appearance and amenities, when you enter the house, the element of warmth and comfort is instantly apparent. This is a very clean, well-maintained rental, in a convenient location to nearby activities, attractions and restaurants. I would recommend this property to anyone who enjoys the comforts of home, and to those in need of a place which welcomes dogs!

First visit to Austin

Guest: Biker Chik (Denver, CO)
Date of Stay: 09/02/11 Review Submitted: 09/07/11

We found the guesthouse to be very clean, well-maintained, and very nicely furnished and decorated. The urban location was very quiet and private. We sat outdoors in the morning and enjoyed our coffee. Downtown was only a short distance away. We enjoyed riding the cruiser bikes to nearby Lady Bird Lake. We definitely recommend staying here and plan to stay here on our future visits. Leslie was very helpful in suggesting activities. Overall it was a wonderful experience.

cute studio with full kitchen

Guest: Alina (St. Petersburg, FL)
Date of Stay: 08/07/11 Review Submitted: 08/24/11

I stayed at this guesthouse when I attended a conference in downtown Austin. It is a detached studio with a great vibe and outside sitting area, located behind the owner's home. The owner, Leslie, was accommodating with my early arrival and helpful when I had questions. The major plus of this guest house is that it is a full kitchen - most don't. I had read from other reviews that the studio was ideal for car-less travel. I'd say ideal for a car-less *vacation*, but not travel for work. Having to get downtown for meetings at specific times made travel a little tricky with buses not running that frequently and the train station~0.7 mile away (a quick walk, but not in 100 degree weather!). But I did discover, on my last night, that cabs in Austin are really cheap!

Amazing and Relaxing!

Guest: Misty W.
Date of Stay: 06/24/11 Review Submitted: 06/29/11

My boyfriend and I stayed here last weekend and absolutely loved it. This was the cleanest rental we have stayed in by far, and the pictures do not begin to capture this cottage's charm. It was convenient to Downtown, the park and UT. Leslie is a fabulous hostess and has taken considerable time to make a book of her recommendations. We are already checking our calendars for our next visit!
