Hacienda Linda in Galisteo New Mexico (Southeast of Santa Fe)

The magic of Northern New Mexico will capture your heart if you let it. Fortunately we have the perfect resting place for your heart while it succumbs to the captivation. Poised between the earth and sky in the Galisteo Basin, Hacienda Linda is an oasis designed to allow this alchemy of place to transform you.
This beautiful home was custom built on 34 acres in the tradition of the old haciendas. Its’ capacious living quarters stretch out into two wings that embrace the landscape and the glorious view of Cerro Pelon Mountain and the Ortiz Range. The adobe style house immediately welcomes you into its’ warm embrace as you walk in the front door. You are greeted by the comfort of the spacious living room with its’ beamed ceiling and kiva fireplace that draw you in and entice you to sink into the large, inviting couch.
The open concept living room flows directly into the sunny breakfast nook and well-equipped kitchen that should delight any cook. The stainless steel appliances include a gas range and dish washer, though there is also a microwave in the butler’s pantry for those of you too relaxed to bother cooking. The living room also opens into the formal dining room, allowing plenty of space for really fabulous parties.
The master suite occupies one entire wing of the house. The California king sized bed and kiva fireplace are almost enough to make you forget that the outside world exists. And the steam shower and separate tub with a view will guarantee it. Walk out from your bedroom to sit on the veranda and revel in the panorama of the Galisteo basin or lie back in the spa under the New Mexico stars.
The guest wing of the house holds two comfortable bedrooms and a bath which features a claw footed tub. The larger of the two bedrooms is almost a second master, complete with California king sized bed and French doors that open onto the veranda. The smaller guest room has two twin beds and a quiet, airy disposition that ensures a restful night’s sleep.
The star of the house is the magnificent views which are best enjoyed while relaxing in the open courtyard. The gas grill allows even the cook to savor the landscape while waiting for dinner. And, the kiva fireplace is perfect for roasting marshmallows for dessert.
Amenities include: spa, steam shower, satellite tv, 2 car garage, 3 kiva fireplaces, gas grill, washer/dryer, dishwasher

We've been renting in Santa Fe for years, and found this to be the absolute perfect setting to fully capture the true Santa Fe experience. Close access to the Plaza with a stunningly scenic drive back to Galisteo, and best of all, the gorgeous tranquil setting that is found here in this lovely home makes it perfect and oh so relaxing. There's nothing like watching the spectacular sunsets in the courtyard with a roaring fire in the grand outdoor fireplace. A very private setting with beautiful views. Loved the open, inviting layout of the house, Professional gas range, great for entertaining, wonderful fireplaces in living and master suite, large, but cozy outdoor space, bonus steam shower- Everything we look for in a vacation home. The only problem is you won't want to leave! Lovely neighborhood, and lovely hosts!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My wife and I got married at this gorgeous property a few years ago. The setting is incredible; there are breathtaking views of the plains and mountains to the south and east. The gazebo overlooks it all from a promontory just a few steps from the house. It was a perfect place for wedding party of just over a hundred, and could certainly handle more. Haute-cuisine catering and musicians from Santa Fe made for a great night of entertainment under the enchanted stars of New Mexico. Our guests continue to tell us this was the most memorable wedding they have ever attended.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Beautiful and serene, this house has the most fantastic views all day long and all the way around the house. The landscape is quiet and filled with unique cacti and colorful stones. The light inside and outside the hacienda are unlike any place else, changing by the hour. Galisteo is a very sweet village, there are horses near by and houses that spot the landscape. Santa Fe is very close and accessible, as well as other interesting smaller towns like Cerillos, Madrid, several Pueblo Indian Reservations, and many really beautiful parks and hiking opportunities to explore. The house itself is incredibly comfortable, has all the amenities, with great air that fills the rooms at night. The back of the house has a huge open patio that is perfect for relaxing outside and watching the sunset.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Heavenly ... The perfect getaway. I'm a professional photographer and on this 34 acre ranch, you could photograph for a month without ever leaving "Gods Country" (the property). Your in the middle of a vast wonderland but only 1.5 miles to the historic village of Galisteo, 20 minutes from Supermarket, strip mall and fine dining. In 30 minutes you can be in the Historic District of Santa Fe. The people of Galisteo are warm, friendly and love to party. It's a ****** star rating in my book .... Just don't forget to bring you camera. My wife and I wouldn't stay anywhere else when traveling to Santa Fe. I only hope you don't book it when we're planning to come.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1
